Rorx Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Sky, unless your stuff on a mission goes into you own thread then their is nothing to stop you inviting people into your thread to do the two weeks stuff while other things are going on as long as it wouldn't jeopardise the main timeline. I was worried that the "main" adventures would sort of make people not want to go through those two weeks. Given the nature and status of my character I owe it to him to explore a bit. The other tricky thing is that stuff might come up in the interim threads that we might bne unaware of for playing out in the "main" thread.Anyways, thank you for hearing my concerns. This format allows for both types to enjoy themselves. The downtime does not have to be cut short just because the mission briefing was posted. You can keep playing your downtime as long as it doesn't effect what is currently going on in story. It is up to you to keep your threads consistent between the missions and the personal. None of my team has profiles posted.Also, I know Jaunt's is bare, but he has a Cipher of 5, which determines how classified his files are. One of the reasons behind that is that the IOA has never been very happy about the fact that they have no hold over Teal'c. He can come and go as he pleases. By swearing Omar in they gain a hold over him and can keep a leash on him that they don't have over Teal'c. They don't really like combat oriented aliens being free to leave at a whim. They tried to kick Ronin out in the SGA series too because they didn't control him. True it doesn't really jive with real military practice, but I think it is consistent with the show. The IOA would gladly bring Teal'c or Ronin into the military if it would give them a hold over those folks. Yeah, Kyria didn't get sworn in but the IOA underestimates an cute 18 year old girl. They take Omar much more seriously even though that may not be wise of them.Anyway, that was some of my IC reasoning for doing it. That's why I made Omar a team lead, he will be a Captain because even though I'm stretching reality to bring him into the military in the first place, they aren't just going to bring him in and make him a Major no matter what Backing he had on his sheet. Also Blind Teleporting is not a healthy thing, especially since he's not specifically designed to always win at everything he does.I also thinks it's lame to Jaunt out of every little situation, so if Fox says they're caught and in a cell, then I'm assuming it's a cell that can hold him unless stated otherwise (perhaps Fox wants Jaunt to have some stealth time to free the other PCs).Decent Quantum? It only takes Q3 to Teleport anywhere in the world. The power's base is Q2, so only 2 successes and you have the world at your disposal. We do have a lot of characters. Maybe Fox has mad skillz and can keep track without assistance, but not all of us are so adept.I know it took me a while to post one, so it's not like I'm blameless for not making use of the option, but we're getting things underway now, and it'd be nice to have reference material. Given the bad feelings he brings up in her, I will say that Donnighal avoided Wolfe and now we can get that tension being on the same team IC.I would be interested in connecting with Dec since both of us are really skilled trained assassins and my character is almost as freaky with arguably freakier eyes...I'd like to create a friendship with Walker as well so I have at least one friend from the downtime on my team.Would be nice to have some kind of awkward tense conversation with Olivia since there is history with them at this point, and ummm...who else?Any takers? My experience with Courier is that he always posts early morning and then sporadically as he can. Of course early to me in normal to him since he is on the East Coast IIRC.And Max is Max..not the fastest but steady..although he has confessed to blockages.
