You start at Bravo. That's why I had that bit about sleeping Cobras ('Let sleeping Cobras lie!)', and put the Trans-D quarters nearby them.2. You start at X-Ped 4. You can be another in a proud history of last minute transfers to X4; it's getting to be like the Jack Benny show with the walk-ins ::tongue Let's see who's coming out of the t-port today, Epstein.(door opens)Hi, Sgt Colby!Well, hello, Sarah Chu’mana Adoette!(applause)Either way is fine with me - which do you prefer? Asbjørn
Er... WarpStation Bravo is one of the major centres in Greendom, and home to lots of people. I understand your wish to get to interact with people, Alex, but just following the sound of voices from the teleport gate area to the sleeping quarters of one of the most secret projects of the whole Green Machine seems a little farfetched to me... Alex Green
I didn't mean to imply that. It's 5am, Vlad does not sleep. He can sit in a room by himself or he can wander around until he finds someone who is up. Those aren't exclusive options btw. If he didn't find anyone then he'd probably go sit somewhere and/or watch the TV.Speaking of which, it's already been stated that all of you are in one of the public areas. Specifically the TV area and it can't be all that secure considering we already have one example of someone just wandering in, i.e. Sarah. This would be the place to head to if you were looking for a generic anyone.Granted, I'm assuming that he can find the TV room. But that's not a big reach considering...A) Signs or other maps (not sure). He might have been there before (again, not sure).C) He might have even had a hand in building the place (very not sure). But Vlad does NOT get lost in tunnels (or tired for that matter) so he'd have no hesitation in just wandering about. Heritage
Okay, I blame myself for much of this - if I had maps up where folks could see 'em, this sort of confusion wouldn't occur.WS Bravo is pretty big, and the area where everyone's hanging out is pretty out of the way. The 'common area' is just a room for the Trans-D folk; 'Trans-D break area' would've been more accurate. The actual area of operations is far below the level you're all on right now - the Trans-D bunks are just tucked away in an area that's out of the way and not very interesting, but still someone could walk in on it. An aura of mystery pervades it to folks who know the base well, so they'd tend to shy away a bit, but a newcomer might be oblivious to it.Rationalization? Yeah, a bit, but not as hard to swallow as him wandering down to the actual THRONE room ::winkI am planning to start a crappy little webpage just to hold maps and stuff, as well as a WJ thread here just for background info, which will have links to said crappy page. Hope to have it up tonight.
Alex Green
Whoops. ::blush This reminds me of a comic book where Batman is putting together one of his ultra-secret black ops… and with no invitation or warning Wonder Woman just shows up at the launch point to join in. Greatly concerned his security was penetrated so easily, Bats asked WW how she found out. She replied causally she’d asked the Oracle at Delphi. BlueNinja
Is there some reason why the font changes aren't working now? phoenix
The Geneva is coming across fine on my end, but you should take a look at this thread. Alex Green
Hey, BlueNinja...You do realize Vlad isn't part of the Top Secret program Judy works on, right?←Hahahaha. The irony is that both characters are waiting for orders, new to the base, and perhaps not realizing that they aren't on the same team.To be totally fair they also know they are both novas so assuming they're more or less together isn't totally unreasonable. This is one of those reasons you aren't supposed to discuss secret stuff with anyone.
BlueNinja
Um, Judy has been back for all of a week or so, after spending several years stuck on Permafrost. Asbjørn
Lots of novas around who don't know about Sidestep, so that's not a good reason. A week at the base, yeah, but in extensive debriefing and constantly seeing the few people she can talk to about it. BTW, it's not several years, but two, tops, since it was 18 months between the two Sidestep incarnations. And last time I checked, Sidestep personnel are captains, which outranks pretty much anyone else... I thought it was longer, but ok, two years away from the Greens and operating in a hostile environment. At the moment, Rourke (and the others from her Permafrost team) are who she knows the best. She's still not going to tell anything 'classified' to Vlad, she's just getting bored sitting around and doing daily debriefings and interrogations, and hopes that someone knows when she can get back to duty. And last time I checked, Sidestep personnel are captains, which outranks pretty much anyone else...
