"Well, my mother is Lilith," Delilah said, her tone stating suggesting her brief statement should be perfectly self-explanatory. And for her, it was, the name of Lilith was known in both the Monster and Human worlds as a temptress and seductive beauty. "So, she did have something to do with... this."

She inhaled deeply of his emotional taste, each breath pressing her bountiful bosom more firmly against him. She had never met anyone like him, she wondered what he was. A golem, maybe? She shook her head - even Rocky McAutomaton wanted her. She gave him one more tight embrace, shockingly strong for a girl with her slender yet curvaceous physique, then sat down next to him to eat her lunch.

She took several bites of bloody steak, then leaned against him. "So what about you, who are your parents, Kyohei? And did you grow up on this side or in the Human World? I grew up there, all over the place." Delilah sighed, a simple and very impressive movement, remembering the Human World. She wished she could have stayed there. Now, she had to join the Newspaper Club just for a chance to visit. "You should join the Newspaper Club, Kyohei."

"What Like the Lilith in the Judeo-Christian Mythologies?" His voice was abit incredulous, but still fairly polite. He wasn't about to call a woman as attractive as Delilah a liar.

The "human world" comment made him chuckle inwardly, As if there's more than one world. He humored her. "I grew up in the Human World as you call it, North of Tokyo. My Dad was a doctor, My Mom Runs her family convenience store. Grandpa runs the Horaiiji Shrine, in addition to teaching the martial arts. He taught my cousins and I the basics."

He shrugged. "The Newspaper club? What do they do?"

In the Shadows, Aria had heard everything.

"Mmm-yeah, I think Mom is mentioned in those," Delilah affirmed, waving a hand negligently as if she didn't think it mattered much. Her grin was much more conspiratorial as added, "She's also Lilith Synn, y'know, from Temptation Videos. The most famous pornstar in all three worlds."

She was honestly a little surprised he didn't seem to believe her, though he was polite about it. C'mon! Look at me! Is there little doubt who my mother is? She nodded politely as Kyohei talked about his family, even if they sounded really boring. Especially for someone as not boring as Kyohei. What type of monster would want to run a convenience store? Mention of the shrine made her shiver - she didn't like holy places.

"I've visited Tokyo and Hong Kong several times, but I spent more time in Paris and Hollywood and New York. Now, I guess I'm stuck in Nowhere." Finished her lunch, she set her tray aside then laid down next to Kyohei, head propped on his lap and looking up at him.

"The Newspaper Club checks into all the weird things that happen around Nowhere and in the Human World, which is sometimes fun. And then writes articles about them, which is never fun." Looking down, Kyohei couldn't help but notice that even laying down, Delilah's bosom stood up proudly with no concession to gravity, each word she spoke making them jiggle hypnotically. "Whenever we go, I try to find my own fun - when the professor isn't looking. You should totally join the Newspaper Club, then we could look for fun together. Maybe you could show me where you live?"

Could he be the One? I've never met another boy - or girl - like him before.

"I'm not familiar with her." Even without seeing him say it she knew it was true. "I got to go to Hong Kong once, but that was it. I never really had time growing up to travel."

"This isn't nowhere, This place has everything." It was clear he meant more than just the scenery.

"Interesting happenings? Like what exactly?" It was clear he wasn't looking at her, and his hands twitched every now and then. Obviously his mind and body were arguing over just what to do about the young woman laying on his lap.

"There's nothing special about home, but yeah, when we get a break and can go there I wouldn't mind that at all."

"Three worlds? What like Earth, Mars, and Venus? There's no such thing as aliens Delilah. Though I gotta admit, you're more beautiful than any other fifteen year old I know."

Delilah looked up at Kyohei, eyebrows quirked in cute confusion and giggled. He really doesn't know who Lilith Synn is? And aliens...? On the other hand, when he called her the most beautiful fifteen year old he knew, she could tell he meant it, meant in a way more innocent than just trying to get in her pants.

"Of course there's no such things as aliens, that's just silly, Kyohei. Didn't your parents tell you anything before sending you to The Academy? Y'know, the Three Worlds: The Human World, where you've grown up; The Celestial World - probably boring since they're always bothering us in the other two Worlds; and the Monster World - where we're really from and where The Academy is, in the Nowhere region." Her tone was surprised, sounding like she was explaining something everyone should already know.

Delilah stretched, arms over her head, making her extensive curves move in a fascinating manner. "The Newspaper Club checks into stuff, like Minotaurs eating people in the Human World or other Monsters drawing undue attention - we're not supposed to do things like that."

The teenaged temptress twisted around and sat again next to Kyohei, tilting her head curiously at him. "What did you say your parents were? It's only fair, since I told who my Mom was."

"Minotaurs, and monsters seriously?"

When she asked about his parents he let out an exasperated sigh. "My parents are humans of course. It's not like they'd be something else." There was the same honesty in his tone, as he effectively admitted what he truly was.

"They're human?!" she said in a shocked whisper, a hand going to her throat. "You're human?!" He can't be, I like him!

She scooted back, looking at Kyohei anew. Why is he here, studying us for monster-hunters and exorcists? But... no, he's honestly confused, he doesn't believe... And he's still cute. I have to show him the truth - I hope he doesn't run away, but he has to know, it can be very dangerous for him here.

"You can't say things like that here, Kyohei... especially if it's true. There are monsters here."

Delilah looked around, and seeing the roof free but for them, tensed, arching her back, her Seeming sloughed away. Great sable wings of shiny leather spread from her back as dainty, curled horns grew from her head and through her burgundy hair. She spun around in circle as a pressure grew in the seat of her pants, scrabbling at it with her hands. Razor sharp nails sliced a hole and a spade-tipped tail slid free. She gave Kyohei a sheepish, yet sympathetic, smile, revealing cute fangs, balls of fire forming above the palms of her hands.

"Umm, surprise! Don't be scared, really! Some monsters are friendly, like me."

Unseen to Delilah and Kyohei, a fat black spider sat in the grill of an air conditioner not far from where the two were eating lunch. It seemed to be busily spinning a web. It would have taken sharp eyes indeed to have noticed that it paused occasionally and just...watched them.

And of course, for every spider in plain sight, three more lurked in much more out of the way places.

Aria saw to that.

Meru had just gotten to sleep when something stirred her. With her eyes just barely open, she saw a squirrel sitting there in front of her with glowing red eyes. "You know Meru, skipping school isn't a good idea. Your father sent you here for a reason. Sleeping in a tree isn't part of it."

The mouth didn't move but she heard the words clear as day. The voice was familiar, she'd heard her Father speak to someone with it before, but she couldn't remember the face.

-------------------

Flicker appeared before Darrik anxious and nervous he seemed almost terrified. Darrik had never seen him this scared, even faced with Death. He'd seen or heard something while he'd been out.

----------------------

Kyohei for his part was stunned. She really wasn't human. "Just what are you Delilah?" His grandfather had gone on about monsters of the world, and indeed part of him remembered all the seemingly pointless knowledge, but he didn't want to believe any of it. It couldn't be true.

"You're a demon." It was the first time she'd seen him shocked. Despite that, one of his fists was tightening, and clearly there was much more warring behind his steel grey eyes.

"Mas-, Mas-" Darrik quickly motioned for him to stop, though something that could frighten him more than the thought of a temporary demise sounded rather shocking indeed. "Flicker." Darrik started, remaining calm and hoping to extend that to his servant. "What is it?"

"Alright." Darrik growled. Snatching up the quivering imp, he walked towards the shadows cast by the wall with the sun coming through the window. Focusing the energies of his shadow magic, they crossed into the shadow and melted away, with a blur of darkness.

They reappeared in Darrik's dorm, where he dropped down his imp. "Now. What is it you've seen?"

"You don't have to be rude about it," Delilah pouted, letting the balls of fire in her hands go out. She chewed on a full lip, her tail twitching behind, as she watched Kyohei with concern. "Technically, I'm a succubus. But it's not a bad thing, we're all monsters here. Well, all of us except you."

Delilah sat down on the coping ringing the roof, her wings draping around her like a cloak, worrying at her tail with her hands. "If you didn't even know about monsters, how did you even end here? This isn't Japan, it's not even the Human World. This is Nowhere, in the Monster World."

Delilah glanced over the edge of the roof, looking doing at some of the students scurrying below, then back at Kyohei, dropping her voice to a conspiratorial whisper. "You can't tell people you're human here. You'll get in trouble, like real-bad-getting-eaten-type trouble maybe. And... and I don't want to see that happen. I've never met anyone like you and I've met human boys before. You're... different."

"New guy... Hu-hu-human..." Was Flicker's only response.

------------------

Kyohei blushed a moment and frowned. "Sorry you took me by suprise. You actually look even hotter like that."

He sighs. "I just found the pamphlet on the street, and thought it would be interesting. My marks in class allowed me to choose where I went, so there was no problem enrolling. The Man I talked to on the phone asked if I was sure, and I told him I was bored of the same grind at school. He laughed and said I would be welcome at the Academy. My paperwork arrived the next day."

"I didn't mean to offend you Delilah. You're the first succubus I've met."

He sat down beside her, laying a hand on her shoulder. "I'll be alright. I can keep a secret, and I know I can trust you to do so too."

Darrik stopped, flabbergasted. Kyohei human? That didn't seem likely, though Dr. Kisagari might have given him that attention because he suspected it. "How do you know this?" he asked calmly and quietly. "Because this merits further attention."

A human could be a threat, or someone to protect, if he meant no harm.

Delilah preened under the compliment and contact, her sable wings flaring wide and her tail swinging greatly to brush up against Kyohei's back. She leaned against him, facing him, eyes of burning purple meeting steely grey. Her coy tongue flicked out pass her succulent lips. He tastes so, so... honest.

Delilah giggled, "I can't believe you enrolled here by accident. But you're right, it's going to be very interesting."

Half asleep and half awake, Meru was in that blissful state of near euphoric paralysis that comes with noon-day naps. Her eye lids flapped lazily a few times; the primitive part of her brain telling her that someone was trying to communicate with her and to wake up while the other half of her mind was blissfully ignorant...

Sudden;y she realized she was being spoken to by a squirrel and woke up like a shot. "Woah!" She sprang upright in her branch with amazing balance, eyes opened wide and senses alert. "A talking squirrel!? Awesome!"

She thrust her face as close as possible, their noses rubbed a bit as she looked at the rodent surprised curiosity. Then her mind registered what the squirrel had said a moment prior and her wide green eyes narrowed into a cautious glare. "Meow wait a second... you mentioned my father. Who are you, is he okay? Can I go home now!?"

"Admitted it!?" Darrik looked quite surprised. It didn't sound like a hunter to take such a risk. Or he could just be rather stupid, and unaware of what he was into- But to Delilah, he supposed it could be her that made him spill the beans. And she, he knew from hearing her, could detect emotions... Perhaps she could evaluate his sincerity. "How much of that conversation did you hear?"

"Just him talking, then she told him things, then he said was human." The Imp was still nervous unsure of what would happen next.

---------------------

"No, he has not said you could go home. He is fine, he just called to let me know I'd need to watch for you, since you bore easily."

There was a slight chuckle, "As to who I am, I am known as "The Keeper." It's my job to keep the more important students from being too foolish."

----------------------

Kyohei nodded. "That "keep your true for hidden" part makes abit more sense now. Speaking of you may want to go back to normal, I wouldn't want you to get in trouble on my account."

He shrugs. "Could be worse I suppose. Someone could have overheard, but we're here alone."

No sooner had he said it, then he saw a spider just sitting there. "Do all spiders just sit around here at the academy, or is this a special kind?"

"This is normal," Delilah giggled, gesturing at her curvaceous figure with a flourish, grinning at him, "but I know what you mean, Kyohei." Delilah gave a delicious shiver, her horns and tail retracting, wings folding closer and closer against her back, until they melted into her skin and faded away. The hellish glow of her eyes dimmed to a vivid purple hue.

Delilah glanced the way Kyohei pointed and chuckled, noticing the spider and tasting the familiar emotions radiating from it, cool, distant, watchful, somewhat condescending. "Not so alone as we thought." Delilah waved at the spider, causing interesting gyrations beneath her red blouse. "That's my room-mate."

The spider skittered down out of sight, squeezing through the vent in the air conditioning unit and vanishing. A moment later Aria emerged onto the roof in her school uniform from the same door that the other two had used, and walked over to where Kyohei and Delilah were having their talk.

"I'm Aria," she said. "And I haven't any plans to expose your identity. I do think there's something you aren't telling us though."

She gave Kyohei an inscrutable look. "You're taking this all very well, you know. Suddenly learning that monsters and demons are real and all around you...well, that would put most human boys into a fearful state."

"It's something I cannot change. My Grandfather told me there was no point to fearing something you couldn't change, simply embrace it, and learn from it."

"I could leave, but people would wonder why. Questions would be asked, then my family, not just me, could become endangered. Better it just be me, it is my own doing after all."

He offers her a sincere smile. "it's nice to meet you Aria."

"Oh..." She sighed, slightly depressed at the thought of having to stay at the Academy. Solemnly she added, "I suppose if he's okay, that's something, right?"

"I-I'm not all that important Mr. Keeper-guy, I'm just Meru." She blushed and slightly giggles a bit, embarrassed now that she got caught cat-napping. "N-no foolishness going on here. Hehe..."

"Mmm," Aria replied vaguely.

"You'd better decide what your cover story is...and hurry, because lunch is almost over. What kind of monster do you want to be? Someone's going to ask you that sooner or later...probably sooner."

From her vantage point, Meru could see a few students from her homeroom on the roof of the school and they seemed to be arguing rather heatedly.

--------------------

Kyohei nodded. "Good Idea. Though, cataloguing what I know of monsters, I don't know of one that I'd reasonably be able to call myself and prove I am one. I don't have another form either."

"Then don't tell them," Delilah offered with a smile. "Whenever anyone asks, just narrow your eyes like this." Her brows drew down so only slivers of purple were visible. "Throw your shoulders back like this." The aggressive posture she attempted lost something with the prominent protrusions that jutted forward with the movement. "And smile like this." Her lips gave a bare curve, seductive and mysteriously intimidating - Kyohei was probably meant to do without the seductive part.

"The less you say or do, the better. Let the ones asking come up with their own conclusions. Not everyone tells around here, anyway." Her grin grew playful once more and she leaned against him, her elaborately contoured flank surprising warm against his side. "Besides, I'll tell people you're totally badass, restraining yourself so you don't, like, annihilate them or something.""

"Alright." Darrik jabbed a warning finger at Flicker. "Stay here now..." Walking into the shades of his room, Darrik vanished yet again, and faded into sight right at the door to the roof. Opening the door, he saw the two he was looking for, plus, surprisingly, Aria.

"Sorry to interrupt here, but a little shadow imp whispered something in my ear about Kyohei's identity. I'd like to have the answers straightened out here, for our and your sakes, Kyohei."

"The imp," Aria said abruptly. "Of course."

She stepped aside then, curious to see what the warlock would do. Had he come to the same conclusions she had? How reliable a witness was his little familiar? Did he understand why attacking Kyohei would be a very bad idea...completely irrespective of the reaction of his succubus admirer?

This was the most fun she'd had...well...ever.

And she made a mental note to keep a closer eye on this shadowy fellow, and his easy-to-forget minion.

"Well, it's not really you, Kyohei, that I want to speak to." He turned his gaze to Delilah, but carefully fixed on her face. "I know you're the best judge of people's honesty. Kyohei doesn't mean any harm here?"

If anyone could gauge Darrik's emotions, he seemed more concerned than threatening.

Delilah laughed out loud, which caused the others to strain to maintain looking at her face, considering the entrancing movement happening under her shirt. "Kyohei? He's a sweetie." Kyohei suppressed a jump when Delilah gave him a surreptitious pinch on his behind. "He didn't even believe in monsters ten minutes, until I gave him a... demonstration." Delilah leaned against Kyohei with a shirt stretching sigh. "I'm sure he doesn't want to hurt any of us as long as nobody wants to hurt him. Do you, Kyo?"

Already knowing Kyohei's answer, Delilah tilted her head to look at Darrick, luscious lips forming a pout that would entice a man to mortgage his soul. "And what was your little gloomling yammering about? You... you don't want to help me anymore? I thought it was a fair trade and we have fun, don't we?"

"Hmmph!" Delilah sniffed with all the annoyance of a teen girl in a huff, who's the hottest girl in school and knows it. Her pout faded into a wicked grin and she leaned even closer to Kyohei, the slender arm around him hugging him with shocking strength. "Fine, then! You're right, I'll do without you for a week. Maybe longer. I'm sure I can find someone else to help me." With the sparkle in her purple eyes and the tempting curve to her full lips, Darrick wasn't sure if she was only being playful or serious.

Kyohei smiled. "Sounds like everything's going to work out then."

The bell rang again, sounding an end to lunch. "Well I've got math with Miss Ruino next, I'll see all of you later, thanks."

"Really? I've got Ms. Ruin next too!" Delilah popped to her feet and linked her arm with Kyohei's, pressing her side close to his, giving Darrick a heavy-lidded look. "You can sit next to me and help me. Math is hard. It's totally unfair when they don't even use numbers anymore."
