On foot she was by far the faster of the two, and though Lily could have kept up by flying or teleporting, she chose not to. She wanted some time. The revelations she'd uncovered about herself were settling in. Her father, the Emperor, had taken the secret passage to the heart of the planet, where an incarnation of Tsunami waited. She'd come out with him then and married him, and stayed in living flesh long enough to have children...then left again.She was the oldest of them. Not just the daughter of the Emperor, but the daughter of Tsunami. The bloodline had been renewed. She was not generations removed from the source of her people's power.As she slowly walked, slowly accepted these things as fact, she was aware of barriers slipping away within her. Walls between herself and her powers, put there long ago; some by herself out of fear and a desire to have an uncomplicated life, some by Tsunami and her father, to make sure she didn't accidentally cause damage or injury with poorly controlled tantrums.Their time was past now though, and the walls were tumbling down.Finally Naien stopped and confronted her, having chosen a spot she felt was suitably isolated. "The rebel hiroga will be treated fairly. If they truly don't want to remain with the Empire, they'll be allowed to leave. But there will be an Empire. It may not be the same as before, but it will not end now. Not because of this. The first two swipes of those massive claws struck before she even lifted her sword to stop them. But Naien was horrified to realize that the impact of her claws was completely absorbed by her energy field...neither struck flesh!With a cry of primal rage, she struck again with both paws at once, smashing Lily's sword aside and slashing through the shield and toughened skin by sheer force of emotion and maddened strength! As Lily reeled backwards, she attacked again, though the weakened shield was still too strong to injure her through, she did manage to breach it again, weakening it further."I'm impressed, Princess...you must have worked hard to get your aura to that point. But it was wasted. The sky was not safe, He had reached her to cut her with uncanny ease.-------------For Gosha, Ayato emitted an aura that was hard to read, it would show points of weakness, then they'd shift. It was as though Ayato were in a state of flux himself. Trying to find any weakness cost him, as his strikes were all parried by Ayato's sword, failing to find any purchase against him.Ayato for his part, didn't react much, slashing at him, connecting twice, but at far less damage than one would anticipate. So far, not much yet, and if he could avoid more blows, he could last this fight out.And then, as Ayato focused himself to attack Gosha, an opening appeared in his sideward arc, where he would certainly be vulnerable for a few well-placed shots, and Francis aimed at the target and fired a good burst.With the overextended Ayato realizing his gap, Francis grinned at his foe, as if to suggest those previous words about being off-guard again were surely overblown.Click to reveal.. SalmonMax Posted February 21, 2011 Share Posted February 21, 2011 The kid gloves now apparently came off for Lily, who vanished from Naien's vision and appeared almost instantly behind her to deliver a stinging blow and immediately disappear again. Fighting Lily when she used her teleportation this way was nearly as bad as fighting several individuals at once, as any vulnerability from any direction she could instantly exploit. On the last attack of her furious combination, she attempted to drive her energy blade straight into Naien's body and leave it behind while she teleported back several meters and created a new blade to defend herself with.(3 attacks using Flash Steps. 27, 30 and 29, using sword. 142 damage a pop, ignores 12 armor. "Damn you." Her battle aura changed, and Naien nodded. "No more playtime."The aura intensified and she transformed, her color changing to white and red. "Rampage mode."The entire world seemed to shake then and they could see the sky darken where Kai and Amaya fought. Sakura Posted February 24, 2011 Share Posted February 24, 2011 The deadly force of his attack had Sakura reconsidering her options, and she went into a total defense mode, making no attacks, simply using her incredible speed and skill to dodge everything he could throw at her. She was coming to an unpleasant conclusion, she couldn't beat him, she didn't have the power she needed, and his blows could do terrible damage to her, but she also couldn't allow herself to lose, and have him attack anyone of her own allies. The thought filled her with a measure of sorrow, but also, determination, if she couldn't beat him, she would keep him occupied, while her allies fought their own battles. Devoting herself entirely to defense for a while, however would allow her to heal up some of the damage he'd done to her, while she considered her options.She'd been able to hurt him, but she wasn't able to keep the damage up, without opening herself to his more powerful attacks. For a moment, she wished that she could unlock the deeper level of power that Lily and Kai seemed to have, but she wasn't sure how to do that. For a moment, her thoughts turned to her blade, Crimson Blossom, and then to the Eternal Light, the source of a good measure of her remarkable power. Her friends and allies were in trouble, this man was party to those who had taken her mother from her.. a thought that filled her with a measure of rage for a moment, but she pushed it down... even as she moved around him, dodging and parrying everything while she thought about the matter furtherClick to reveal.. The cursory attitude, the silver under the skin, taking on 3 opponents though he was a Lieutenant... but he was Hizashi's lieutenant, wasn't he?The definitions involved here might be much more different than Francis had hoped... The secret agent lowered his laser pistol slightly, but remained prepared for dodging, eyes totally focused on Ayato.Get Ayato to talk... but how to do so without shaking the lion's den? Then Francis studied the battlefield.... and realized that everyone seemed to be using swords, magic and whatnot fantastic. He seemed the odd man out, with a laser pistol and technology... Some of the best in Homeline... but so puny here. And Kai unlocked his Bankai, talk about humbling. His gaze tilted down to the gun, though his sight line allowed for easy reaction if needed."You're not doing me any good here, are you?" He remarked to the pistol, as if it could hear him. Searing light blazed from his eye, carving all around Francis, yet nearly hitting him. Francis' armor was white hot where the laser'd come near to it. The eye lasers lashed out twice, carving the blank terrain around her, cutting off a large swath of her Kimono, the heat singeing her skin.Across the battelfield, far from the others, They could hear the words..."Let the Fool who stands before me be destroyed by the power you and I possess, DRAGONSLAVE!!!!!!!" An explosion ten kilometers across shook the area, the unreality of the power of their ability to hear Valerie's voice even, it left everyone in Awe.Ayato called to Hizashi? "Now?"Suprisingly he answered, though he was some distance away. He came at her with unrivaled speed, his blade slashing away clothing from her side, her shoulder and even a lock of hair.She'd fended him off, and then found herself looking up into his cold grey eyes with his fingers pressed against her shoulder."Hadou Number 4, Byakurai" At point-blank range he couldn't miss and didn't the lightning blasting straight through her collarbone and scapula leaving an inch across hole of burned and cauterized flesh. (130 damage for the next turn Sakura is at -3 to all combat actions)He appeared again further away, and she realized, he was smiling. The 'thing' they were attacking was reacting, but not as much as he had expected. And he wished they could do something other than just swipe at him, but with a lack of any terrain at all it made things difficult.So he just did what he was good at and slashed a few more times.,,Click to reveal.. We're in a world where you can craft the surroundings as you wish, and you're all so weak you haven't even tried."There was nothing but contempt in his voice, as he lashed out with his own blade, connecting only once.
