BlueNinja
I'm just curious whether or not people prefer more supernatural, occult-ish storylines with their Adventure!, or more sci-fi-ish storylines. Vampires or bizarre flying machines? Mysterious rituals or complicated formulas?
SkyLion
Both! Prefferably at the same time... ::biggrin
metaphysician
Yeah, Adventure! is the genre and setting for, say, a skyship race to the moon to recover the Atlantean relics left on its dark side before the Nazi vampire does.
Arcanum_V
Much like the comic series Planetary, I've tried to give each story its own atmosphere filled with the conventions of the genre. In our battle against the Ubiquitous Dragon (whom I turned into a Kuei Jin), I pulled in all of the Chinese occultism I could think of: San Francisco's Chinatown, ancient alchemists, axe-wielding tong thugs, legions of hopping vampires, forbidden temples, etc. When we took on the Machinatrix, the story had a decidedly sci-fi atmosphere: UFOlogists, mad scientists, a mind-dulling subterranean "utopian" city, etc.
madcat82
I agree, as usual it feels, with Arcanum. I use whatever suits the story, although I prefer Sci-fi... on the other hand, the biggest bad guy in my stories for the moment is Mr Saturday.. Blue Thunder
I haven't run or played an Adventure game yet. Sucks for me.I actually love noir, but the game isn't noir, so I agree with everyone here. Airship battles above New York, crazy scientists with death rays, etc.

He isnt noir but about as dark as they come in pulp with elements of both fantasy and horror...
Blue Thunder
I've already got plenty on my plate with Bright Continent, New Flesh, (possibly) Awaiting Inspiration, and then Prometheans Unbound (plus my own Trinity e-book when I get around to adding to it).
