"The same for all of us, Gwyn," Olivia pointed out relentlessly. "We all know things that the Tok'ra haven't been told, despite being allies. It would be a risk. But if Kyria could alter its memories, it wouldn't remember. And I have to touch a specialist to change that echo. I can't do it alone. So if all that are around me are non-specialists, then I'd be the least likely to manage to escape."

She shrugged again. "That's if we do it."

"Do you really think the Tok'ra would agree to letting us erasing the Tok'ra's memory of the experience or even what it learned? We would have to tell them what we are doing. Further, though Kyria has mentioned sensing two minds within those with symbiotes, their nervous systems are intimately entwined. What affects one mind, may very well affect the other. Are you willing to risk that as well, Olivie?"

Yseult shook her head. "This test is completely unnecessary, and we can most likely determine similar results through comparative analysis and genetic tests. If the Tok'ra are willing to share their genetic and biological data on the symbiotes, of course."

Yseult gave Olivia a sardonic grin. "Oh, I am quite agreeing with you, Olivie. That is why I have been spending more than the last five years, off and on, trying to figure out a way around the goa'uld toxin, so the symbiotes can be removed without the death of the host."

Yseult sighed, then laid a hand on Olivia's shoulder. "I did not mean to become so... strident on this subject, but, once burned, twice shy, yes?"

Cam spoke up, "There is one thing you all are forgetting. Becoming a host even to a Tok'ra is a traumatizing experience. Carter was an unwilling host only for a couple days to Jolanar of Malksu and when she died Carter was months working through the echos that left in her mind. I've talked to her about it and that's not something I would want to go through. It should be easier with a host leaving you voluntarily, but there would still be some of that. The same goes for the symbiote according to what Jacob Carter was told before he blended. I doubt very seriously that a symbiote would want to risk its life for something that would only be temporary, because face it, with our immune systems and altered physiology they might not survive in some of us."

"I don't think any of us are at the moment. What I found was that I was being targeted before I became a specialist. Brian Stone overruled that in favor of using me as a guinea pig for his little experiment in stead. At least I find no written evidence of that, not that it isn't possible."

Gwyn tries to clarify for Omar, "We were discussing the possibility, and that we should try to avoid it happening at all if possible and for as long as possible if not."

"Having said that, there are a number of Specialists who are away from the SGC and who knows what could have happend to them."

Olivia's eyes fluttered shut. "Fischer, Jaunt, Eckhart, Jacobs, Lawrence, Simms, Price, Wolfe, Walker and Logan," she recited, running down the name of every specialist that she had learned about that was now gone. She opened her eyes and looked at all of them. "There are as many who we don't know where they are or what their status is. I've been looking into this, just getting the names thus far. Seemed we might need to have them some day."

She looked around the room and said, "So is anyone else as scared and as angry as I am?"

Cam completely agreed, the fact that even O'Neill didn't know where the specialists were was enough to send a shiver down his spine.

"Yeah, that was one of the reasons I had that meeting at the Beta Site. I wanted everyone to know the stakes here. Nearly as many of us have been made to disappear as are currently active in the SGC. It's entirely possible that some of them might have been reassigned to other duties and be doing classified black ops or something, but all of them? Eckhart was a member of an SG team, no way anyone is going to convince me she willingly accepted reassignment. Call me biased, but what we are doing here is far more important to Earth's safety than some covert ops assignments to topple foreign dictators or something and she would know it first hand."

He paused for breath the finished, "I think I've got enough now to go to the General's this afternoon. I'll present what I've found out then it will be up to them how we proceed. I expect that tomorrow we'll know something."

Steve thought, *You're assuming they don't already know. That many people... the reason a conspiracy is scary is because you don't know who is in it. With the Goa'uld able to just take over people, it's not like they'd even have to be disloyal.*

*...I really should try to monitor that conversation. At some point Cam will be asked to leave the room and it'd very very interesting to hear what they really think.*

Cam appreciated that even Olivia would be willing to participate. Looking around and seeing the commitment in the faces of the other he nodded. "Ok, I will be presenting this to the Generals tomorrow. Should know something pretty quick, if they do agree and decide to do something expect a mission briefing quickly maybe as early as tomorrow afternoon. I am glad to have you all with me, it is a relief not to be alone with all this mess. For now you can continue to shoot if you want or go about your other duties, but I think the meeting is done."
