Yseult returned Ryan's smile, her own wistful, tinged with pity for her superior officer. "I am grateful all of my days for François - he is a very rare man. What I regret most about this job - other than recent events, obviously - is the time I have missed with my children. Before, I had planned on reducing my work load, perhap even having another child."

The young-looking blonde was quiet a moment, eyes closed, reflecting on what might have been.

Opening them, she turned back to Ryan, laying a hand on his forarm in sympathy. "The only advice I can be giving you Ryan is this - Try. I did not know what I was missing in my life until François entered it. It is not enough to live for a job, it is living for someone else that matters most."

Kyria began ordering. The clerk smiled politely in that 'you're a little odd, but hey I'm on the clock' sort of way while the young woman began pointing at the various confections she wanted. She started with the small cake, a round of gourmet hot chocolates, and a tray of petite-fours to be sent over to the table for everyone to share. After that, she thought for a moment and asked the woman a quiet question.

It took several long blinks, a return question obviously along the lines of 'are you serious', getting the manager, and some furious scribbling by said manager as Kyria smiled an patiently went through her take-home order. There was nothing quite like an absurd amount of sugar and chocolate to cure a maudlin mood; by the time Kyria and her orders for the table arrived, she was smiling again and looking wistful. She tucked herself back into her chair and claimed several of the white-chocolate-and-raspberry petite fours.

Yseult welcomed Kyria back to the table with a nod and a smile. "Merci, Kyrie, pour la chocolat," Yseult said, reaching for one of the spiced hot chocolates.

She blew on the steaming liquid confection, then took a small sip, letting its warmth spread through her body. At this moment, with the possibility of reunting with her husband and children in the air, surrounded by - if not friends - those that could easily become friends, she was content.

"I am thinking, after I am united with my family, and had time to get reacquainted with my husband," Yseult's very brief, very wicked grin left no doubt what she meant, "I would like to invite you all to a get-together at my home. Perhaps for a barbeque or other home-cooked meal, depending when this can be arranged." Yseult's smile turned reminiscent. "Admittedly, François is willing to barbeque at any time of the year."

Ryan smiled. "That would be great. Barbeque is always best when shared with friends."

He chuckles. "maybe we could even find a way to get in a little of the other Cookout pasttime, Football."

His eyes glint evily. "With our own special rules and considerations, of course."

He nodded to Kyria when she returned but didn't say anything. She was essentially alone in this world, as Omar and she were so completely different, He'd heard that the women of the specialists had become a fairly closeknit group, and he was happy that at least she had that.

"Don't turn your nose up at it, Yse," Olivia giggled, leaning toward the other woman. "Half of the men will remove their shirts to play, and we will get to watch the game play out," she reminded the blond beauty. "So who do you think will win that particular game?" The mischievous glint in her eye was unusual to some here, but as Olivia gained confidence it was becoming more common.

Gwyn laughed hearing Olivia's comment, "Hah, if he was currently here, the obvious answer would be Dec, but with his absences it's more open to debate. It would also depend on what, if any, talents were going to be allowed?"

Yseult kept her smile from wavering, though it was an effort - her instinctive response was going to be François, of course, but there was no way he would be able to compete with these men... well, perhaps in hockey, if they were not used to skates.

"I do not know who would win, Olivie. I am thinking it would be us girls who would be the winners, watching all the shirtless men competing." She hid the strain of maintaining the amused grin behind another sip of Chianti.

"Rafting. There's a good number of rivers, either around here or elsewhere that we could go, split into mixed teams and enjoy a nice drip down a river and through rapids." The way he said Elsewhere made it clear Site B was his choice.

"We could bring what we need to barbeque with us kame a nice day of things."

Yseult smiled slightly at Olivia's idea, then offered her own. "Je pense que - I mean, I think what we would be needing is something that challenges us as a group. We set for ourselves a goal, yes? Nothing job related - I mean for something fun - and see if we can meet it. The only reward would be that we can say we did it."

Yseult matched Cam's grin with one of her own. "That does sound like fun, Cameron. François had mentioned it a time or two, but we never managed to get around to it."

The specialists ordered more substantial fare as the afternoon faded into evening, Rico's beginning to fill up with the dinner crowd. They kept their conversation light and unhindered by anything that would violate their NDAs. The band came on stage, and live music began to permeate the atmosphere. After their meal and another hour of music and talk, the specialists headed back to the Mountain, spirits high, Kyria with her hands full with her take-home order of desserts.

"I hope Landry will be able to get back to me soon."
