I left the scene in Cat such that it could be very easily (and amusingly) interrupted by a call back from Ronnie, though I do not know -when- that callback might actually be possible. Perhaps a text instead?

Barring that, after the hour it will take Feli's dress to become clean, if we haven't heard from Ronnie, we'll try to contact Orphan again for more help, something which may require a more direct line of communication.

Hopefully Asa agrees. If not I'll edit as needed or we will figure out some other course of action.

Joani, the only input I think we need from you at this time is a comment about if Cat is ahead of or behind Quest? I think we're probably close to the same time frame but I'm not sure.

Depends on when Cat occurs in relation to Quest, and if together, how long before Rebecca is kicked out of Quest. :P

I'm not keeping a strict timeline - everything happens roughly at the same time.

Then he'll just have to cool his heels with Feli (or whatever the kids are calling it nowadays) until after Rebecca has cleared her mission in Quest.

It just dawned on me that I don't have access to my character sheet to make that roll. I never got it from Mala, LOL. I'll get that ASAP so I can post for Savannah. We made it on that program, and I either need to get the program or find out if there's a way for her to get the sheet to me in a format I can use in the meantime.

As you guys may have noticed, I'm currently not as active as I was last week or the week before last week because I'm on vacation. Weather has taken a turn for the better, we finally have some sun and I'm spending more time outside enjoying the sun.

I'll try to squeeze in a few posts during the evening hours but only when I feel like it. I'm back to serious business from sunday on.

No, Jameson, no house ruling. If he rolled a one he would just fail by a certain degree as per the book.

Their current condition also factors in partially and that's why I ruled that failure would lead to their death within the next 10 Minutes. He can try to reroll or use 'mundane' means to try to stabilize them. The DC I mentioned is only for the skill check. His DC for using his Healing power is per the book and I am assuming that he will at least stabilize them and prevent their deaths.

In M&M 3rd, I just have to wait a minute before trying again. Doesn't cost any exertion or HP's. I was actually specifically wondering about feedback/virus.

If all I have to do is wait, then I'll just wait. Can I encompass the initial try and the minute wait and the second try all within one post?

Oh, and AFAIK, botch isn't just a WW term. I've heard it in D&D and other nonWW gamer circles... Just sayin'. Plus, from my experience, natural 1=auto-bad is just about as common as natural (highest)=auto-good, so I guess I just assume.

I realize that Botch has made it into the lexicon of the gaming culture, but, to my knowledge, the term Botch is not a rules term in any other systems. More relevant however is that aside from an auto-miss in combat rolling a 1 in M&M has no other "critical failure" implications unlike other games, a roll of 1 + 14 vs DC 15 is still a pass. I wanted to make sure, for myself and everybody else, that Joani's reply was not the revelation of a houserule for critical failure when rolling a 1.

@Kevin and the Twins - Kevin managed to stabilize the twins just based on his pure medical skill/knowledge - unfortunately his healing power failed him (that could've improved you situation beyond stabilizing).

So for now you are safe as long as you're not moved too much. You can talk and use your powers which don't require any real physical exertion (flying for example is a no-no).

This went far more dramatic than I expected - I'll grant Kevin 1 HP for his uncanny display of extreme bad luck.

Guys I think you did this wrong. Unless Carver was rolling for Becca's resistance the DC should have been 10 + [ranks] (4 in this case it seems) and Becca should have been rolling d20 + [her Fort]. I might be wrong but it looks like you did it backwards.

Thank you for pointing it out, Travis.

The situation was vague for Dawn/Rebecca because I didn't give her much information about her target (intentionally). All I wanted to see is if Rebecca would play it safe or use higher ranks to risk V-Damage (which she didn't).

Becca's resistance was non-existant - in her current state she's defenseless, but I didn't want to tell Dawn that she auto-succeeds. Maybe I should've dealt with this in a different fashion - the outcome of the situation stays the same (just fyi, Dawn).

In the interest of helping people learn the proper use of the rules I'd recommend in situations like that that you simply ask how many ranks/how much power they want to use. They'll know the DC they are setting for the resistance roll but without knowing the NPC's Save bonus (which you can keep secret by just doing the math "behind the GM screen") they'll have to make that choice in the blind.

Just my suggestion though.

I know that we have several players who are new to the current edition and some who are new to the system as a whole. So doing things "by the book" even if you hide the numbers from them I think will help people get accustomed to the rules more easily.

Again, just my opinion and suggestion.

@Sam - feel free to rejoin Quest anytime you feel like it. You're not KO'd anymore, just fyi.

@Travis - That's a more elegant solution and I will take your advise for the future. My main focus was to move the story forward and squeeze in another update regardless of my current RL-Situation.

I hope I'll be backish around Monday - the ear infection of my Son resulted in a very painful inflammation (I didn't sleep at all last night) and unfortunately it burst open with ichor. The Doctor already checked him and there won't be any permanent damage. He's under medication now, hence my reduced presence here. I try to keep things running on case by case/demand/priority.

Quick question, Kevin has skill mastery on treatment, which says that he can take 10 even in stressful situations... could he do this here or would that be something that I would have to declare before I roll?
