Aberrant RPG - Backgrounds: Backing or Influence?

In the back of the Teragen sourcebook, it mentions elevated Novas having 2 free dots in Influence (The Teragen).

Now, Influence is defined in the main rules as being essentially fame, though it certainly looks possible to have specific forms of Influence limited to an organization.

On the other hand, Backing defines "Position" within an organization. So what are people's opinions on this:

1: Was a typo and they meant Backing

2: With the Teragen being as informal as it is, keeping it as Influence. (Representing the looser "command structure" as opposed to the Uppies, Directive, etc).

Ok, but don't forget the Influence background states the player can choose a selective population related to her fame, such as "nova fans", or "music". Why not "Teragen movement and wannabes?"

Anyway I think Backing would be more suited for many character (except Pandemonium- and Casablancas- affiliated).

Influence implies that everyone (within that group) knows who you are and listens to you when you talk.

Backing implies that you have authority to order other people around, whether they like it or not.

So it depends on the faction. The Church of Mal? Backing is probably better. Casablancans? Influence all the way.

In Adventure! Influence and Reputation are seperate backgrounds, yes. For example, somebody may have a great deal of influence, but that does not mean they are widly known. The reverse is also possible as well.
