kestrel404
Sure. It's about time this thing got moving again. I guess I'll get the lab thread moving again.
Greg Frist
[Alchemist:]I've got an idea for the press conference thread.Everybody who's in this will be officially on the team.Send a PM to Greg Frist. Include how you'd like to be introduced (if you want to give yourself a new Nova Name, now's a good time for it), a semi-flashy entrance (onto the front steps of the HQ), and a few words to the press about your position on the team. Soundbytes are preferable (if only because they're more suitable for this format). Also, the press-conference should be occurring soon, if not slightly in the past.Once everybody has PMd Greg, I'll edit together and post it.Sound good? BlackStar
Excuse me Alchemist. Could you explain what do you mean with "soundbytes". Sorry, but sometimes I don´t understand some of the expressions you English-speakers use. Please, don´t take this as a criticism. It is not. I know it is my fault. I need a bit more vocabulary. Alex Craft
A soundbite is a comment or phrase that can be quoted without additional explanation. It's anything that can be taken out of context and still be understood. Basically, keep it short and to the point.

Ghostwriter
Hey!I'm going to start a thread soon for Saimhe and (if he wants to come along) Singularity's visit to Alchemist's lab for the stretchy-bouncy stuff. If you guys want to join in, I'm cool with it - it'd allow Regan to meet more novas. Please, tell me what you think.

Interceptor
Sorry it's been so long since I've made any postings. I do most of my posting at work, and work has been very busy lately. Alex Craft
If you want to join, I don't think that would be a problem - there isn't a formal IC roster yet, and we don't really have a entry process or anything. You'll be wanting to send Greg Frist, our reporter drone, a PM for the press conference announcing the team (check the relevant post - second down from the top of this page).Come to think of it, I need to do that too ... Interceptor
Real sorry I haven't been posting much. I feel real guilty, because I was the one that proposed this group idea, and am humbled by the enthusiasm it's received, however due to work issues that have sprung up (when I do most of my posting) I just haven't been able to devote the time and attention to it as it deserves, as you all deserve.Having said that, I'd like to step down as the theorhetical organizer of this group, I never really was, players like Alchemist and Alex Craft (in his incarnations) and others have been instrumental in keeping this going strong. I'm not leaving the group, I'll still be posting, but I'm going to reduce my responsibilities, so that I'm just playing Interceptor. This way no one is depending on me and being disappointed for my lack of active participation. If anyone would like to step up and take that responsibility, please do so. Or we can make this as a community of equals. I think a kind of CEO is helpful for this project. Sorry about this, I want to make sure that this is given the proper time and effort, and I'm just unable to do so. I'm sure we'll be able to keep the group going just fine, after all it's kept going this far without me plenty of times.
Damanor
Would anyone mind if I joined in? I'm new to the site, and the group is already pretty large, but if nobody objects I'd like to get involved.
Jager
You've got my vote.Interceptor, I've been meeting to write two stories for this section, but ... well ... me and my writing. It doesn't come when I want it to, but when it feels up to it. Damn creativity.
Damanor
Since nobody seems to have any objections, I'll be joining the Knights in an auxiliary position as a "Research and Information Specialist" (ie Intelligence Analyst), though I'll also act as backup in frontline combat or disaster relief.I've sent the PM to Greg Frist, so I'm ready to go. Just because it's never been done.I really think the group leader though should be the one who is the most active in it. Since I'm not really active with this character, this'll probably fall on someone else.In any case, this'll work.

Damanor
It will be good to have someone to work with. Damanor knows investigation and analysis, but has never dealt with "real" Intelligence; he needs somebody who knows the business. Our intel department probably needs to be out of the public eye where possible - to protect our secrets, and because watching intelligence work is usually boring. "Damanor sits at a computer screen, looking at financial spreadsheets, and occasionally moves a number from a spreadsheet to a database." (At least that's what we'll tell the sponsors.) Jager
I've been having a bit of trouble posting as Jager, as well.Okay:{These are multiple choice ... you can do more than one}Whose Field Team? Jager will do 'hero' stuff as well as working with more covert aspects of police work.Whose doing PR, Product endorsement, and the like? (don't forget taint and aberrations) Remember, this is an important thing to the Team's sponsors, so be open-minded.Jager will do the occassional PR gig, but not often. He will stick to charity work and any activities the Team partakes with law enforcement. He will not hawk consumer products, or open malls.Whose going to be doing Intel gathering? Add to that, what do you see Intel doing (illegal -wiretapping, hacking, B&E) (legal - data analysis, marketing, working with the local, state, and Federal agencies that request it)?Jager is inherently a spook, so he may well be doing 'shady' activities, but will keep a level of seperation between these activities and the Team.Who will be working with the Scientific/R&D side of the operation? What will you be working on? Who (outside agency-wise) do you see yourself working with? Consumer products, personal projects, and/or law enforcement? The Team appears to have a pretty strong brain trust, so he will leave the inventiveness to others, though he will try to stear outside work their way. What other team activities do you see as being an important part of you being with the team?
Long
Long would be predominantly Field Team, I can't see him really PR due to his high taint and inhuman appearance. As far as Inte Gathering, his money and influence allows him several means. He'd likely leave R&D to those better suited to it.
Damanor
Field Team: Damanor can do it, but he sees himself as mere backup for field operatives, unless the C-Z are involved - then it's personal. PR: He may have very little taint, but he's not great in social situations. It's not likely.Intel: This is where Damanor will be spending his time - mostly in data analysis, but with some infiltration and covert entry. (Eufiber Attuned + Weave + Stealth). Nice not to have to worry about warrants. His contacts aren't really in the Chicago area, unfortunately. On a related note, do we have any telepaths/precogs/espers on the team?Science/R&D: Damanor is a skilled gadgeteer (M-Int 4 + Engineering 5, Science 3, Computers 3), but doesn't want public (Utopian) attention. With the other brains on the team he probably won't do much inventing. He'd love to have free access to a workshop, though. Note: Edited the R&D entry for clarity and added stats. Access
Field Team: Bandwidth would be in the reserves, his physical prowess is quite limited.PR: Bandwidth can do this, though he's not a strong social character, but hey, he can get their with experience since he has a low level of taint, and no physical manifestations of it.Intel: This would be one of Bandwidths's strong points, if there is a carrier signal for the Opnet he can get there, set up equipment, and leave, also his abilities to survive inside the Opnet give him very strong information gathering abilities.Science/R&D: Bandwidth's other major role. He's a decent gadgeteer, and his M-Int of 4 will help a great deal with any sort of research or technology needed. He is great with constructing software and hardware programs as well as robotics as well.
Interceptor
Interceptor would definitely be field team, and help put a public face on it as well, so PR too. With his abilities he'd also be good at testing out equipment.
Alex Craft
As before, April is squarely in the field. She probably will be one of the public faces, as well - she has good (though not mega) socials and no distinguishable taint. She also has no problem doing promotions, and is really a bit of a grandstander anyways. While she has no skill with spook work, she could do pretty well at surveillance simply due to her sharp perceptions and ability to fly. Given the abilities of the rest of the group, though, I doubt she'd ever be called upon to do so.
