jameson (ST)
And now for something completely different ...OK we've been in the game for just about a week but since volume has been high I figure I can go ahead and ask this:How am I doing? Please feel free to answer honestly, pm me if you would prefer I won't mind. Basically it has been quite a long time since I have GMed a game and I have never GMed in a PBP style game so I am looking to see if there are any problems, comments, suggestions ... that and I'm fishing for compliments But seriously though I do want to know what you all think so far.thanks
Courier
Consider yourself complimented! I'm extremely happy with the posting speed & quality of everyone involved, but especially the ST.
Gregory
I am enjoying the game. I think we are working well as a team. The ST is especially adept at weaving a tale. Also, I like that the ST is making die rolls to determine success and failure(ex: Buzz's botch)- it adds an element of chance.
Michael Peters
I'm having a good time. It really feels like an established world.Kudos to you, good doctor!

jameson (ST)
My dice are cold like a glacier for you as a group so far. Buzz only rolled 2 successes on his Disrupt (with Willpower) which Mr Tentacle was able to overcome with a Q+Node roll. Buzz BOTCHED his command roll but the Commanding Prescence and Willpower were able to bring that to a total of 3 which was resisted. Further Gregory only scored 2 successes which were also resisted with an opposed Manipulation+Subterfuge roll.On the plus side Raider was able to retrieve something from the craft... Michael Peters
Dear lord. Whatever dice you are using for us... get new ones!... and give the old ones to our opposition.
Buzzkill
Sheeyit! It's like I'm rolling the dice!Well, I tried.
Gregory
Not that it matter now, but IIRC, the Trickster enhancement gives 3 automatic successes when trying to deceive someone.
Mr Fox
Yeah, but I don't know that tricking him would have mattered. He seemed pretty determined to take that ship whether we liked it or not. We still have no idea if it was his. I'm betting it wasn't.
Gregory
He could have had Trickster, or The Voice...That's why we all believed his story. He did the 'Jedi Mind Trick' to us.

Courier
Very much on a side note, Doug has an extra dot for an Ally that isn't formerly allocated yet. Any suggestions?
jameson (ST)
Realistically a trader ally in either Merrimack or L-A would fit well into your background. Of course they would only come into play if you where in their area.
Courier
L-A? California? The other thing that was occuring to me would be a lady friend, or even someone to "watch the shop" as it were. Emma Peal? Emma Frost? Lois Lane? Jimmy Olson?
jameson (ST)
go re-read the Setting thread, L-A is a city in central Maine well known for its agricuture and trapping. It serves as a center for trade for that region.
jameson (ST)
I'm going to hold off on updating for now, looks like you all have some conversation to have. I'll update when you guys are ready to go back to Newborough. If you can all give me an idea what yo are going to do upon returning home I will incorporate that as well. jameson (ST)
Any time you guys use a power for something which is basically non-critical I am prettymuch allowing auto success, where you were planning to go back to town and basically into potential downtime you can assume that things like a warp home, and similar power rolls will not be needed. Mr Fox
I plan to work together with Jimmy to get the datarecorder to give up it's info. So if anyone has synergy or something that would give us a boost to our otherwise considerable skills, go for it.
Gregory
I'm not sure if smugglers, gangs and weapons dealers are still around, but Gregory is going to try and get information from them about the tentacled man. If need be, he will go outside the gates of the city to speak with these people.
jameson (ST)
There are certainly plenty of people in the know in the city. Keep in mind that trade with outlying communities happens in Newborough more often than not. Many of the people in the city who engage in trade are also information brokers after a fashion..... this assumes you ask the right questions and sometimes grease a few palms. Michael Peters
About my post about the data reader for the flight recorder - I hope I wasn't out of line for saying I had one, Dr. Bradford. If I was, I can edit the post to say we dont have the parts, or need some more.I just want to know whats in the Black Box
Courier
Having one is nothing. Being able to read one is something else.
Michael Peters
Well, most data flight recorders need a data reader that would translate the blackbox data into standard data. Then a reader is required. The reader part is the part I suggested Raider and Jimmy construct.
Gregory
Depending on whether the man is a baseline or Nova, Gregory will be dormed. Nova=not dormed, baseline=dormed. He will ping with his node for a quantum signature before hand.
jameson (ST)
Just a quick FYI, at some point today I am going to edit my posts from when you were all at the crash site to integrate Raider's exploits. If any of you feel like reading back to find out exactly what I wrote feel free but I doubt you missed much.

jameson (ST)
Busy day for people? I'll come back this evening to update, hopefully everybody will have posted by then.
Courier
Sorry for not mentioning this before. Doug is going to continue to sleep. He burned through a LOT of juice, while I'd like to be up and about I don't see a choice for it. I'm willing to function on half a pool as he's very quantum efficient, but he's way below that so them's the breaks.
jameson (ST)
I kinda assumed that was the case if my math was right you were down at least 15 Q in the space of about 30 minutes. An FYI to all of you, in order to try and maintain the pace I'm pretty much going to try and post every morning first thing (around 8 am EST) and again in the evening between 9-11 pm EST. Weekends are a crap shoot I could be busy and post only once or I could be bored silly and post whenever the group has given me enough to work with. I will ALWAYS let you guys know if I am going to unable to post as normally (as will be the case the week of Thanksgiving); I (and I'm sure the others) will appreciate the same courtesy. I will generally try and wait to get a response from everybody before posting. In cases where you are performing a long term sustained action I will continue said action for you if you do not post (i.e. sleeping, long repair jobs, boring Wall duty, etc.). BlueNinja
You want me to take you to Mount Olympus, home of the Greek pantheon? Um, I think that's a bit outside my range. Lemme up to Q6 with a few dice in CTT, and then we can go to Mount Olympus.
Mr Fox
I was thinking a little less fabled than that, but a little further away too. It occurs to me that no bombs fell on the moon, so Olympus should be mostly intact, and home of some nice pre-burn tech.
BlueNinja
Ooooh, THAT Olympus.Sure, if someone could get him a decent picture of it. Problem with Warp is that you have to have a good idea where the heck you want to go.
Gregory
If he man does give infor or is willing to sell weaponry for the info, I will open the Psychic link to Courier and have him begin relaying information about the crash site and what it was we saw (I will not mention the tentacled one). Courier will not be told what Greg needs the info for, unless specifically asked. Gregory will just ask him to relay what info they have on the device to him. Gregory will then relay the info to the man. Also, if possible, would knowlege of where the object crashed be located on a map. That can verify the truth of the info, if they want to see if Gregory is lying.
BlueNinja
Except for one small problem - Courier is both asleep and the person who has to open the Link.As for the location, Adam already told you guys that his Warp opened almost a hundred miles due (south?).
