Trinity Universe: Adventure: Jewel of the Empire

I would like to announce my intentions to run an Adventure! game based in and around India in the 1920s and 1930s, one that is at least a little bit AU to match the Aeon Society's motto of 'Hope. Sacrifice. Unity.'

The players (no more than five or six) would have the option of playing Western characters associated with the Aeon Society's London or Chicago chapters who have gone on to form their own chapter in Calcutta or local Hindu characters who have been recruited or joined of their own accord. I have NPCs in mind, but the players (of course) would be the main stars.

When I mean AU, I mean that the person who coordinates the Calcutta chapter is a half-caste Hindu lady who is a good friend of Max Mercer and Michael Donighal's and a fairly kickass Inspired in her own right. There's always the chance of stopping Mike from going off the tracks and preventing future trouble, or romancing Annabelle Lee Newfield, or becoming Dixon's research partner. The Chicago and London chapters often lend a helping hand, and there's always the yearly ball in London, New York or Chicago to meet these people... Just because it's set in India doesn't mean I'm willing to take it elsewhere.

I have some house rules as well:

1) A person may mix and match Knacks so long as I deem that they fit their concept - a beautiful Hindu socialite with Dramatic Entrance, Perfect Poise and Sex Symbol, for instance. Heroic Knacks are the Level Two equivalent of Dynamic or Psychic in such cases.

2) I match the Transformation points to the concept. If you want to play a badass Hindu swordsman with an enchanted sword, and I like how you've portrayed him, I'll give you the points necessary. I'm not talking power for power's sake - sorry, guys, but you can't play another Michael Donighal. ::smile

3) I would prefer that no more than half of the characters be British. Also, no more than one or two Brahmin PCs. I'd also like at least one female character, but preferably two - one Hindu, one British.

4) If you reach 4 dots or higher in any Ability, you get a free specialty for each dot. If you're that good, you've got to specialise in something by then.

5) All PCs start with 20 Bonus Points, but you may use no more than 5 for Backgrounds or Willpower. :)

I'm not a total purist on the names, so you don't have to go to the effort of making names fit origins, though last names that reflect castes would be appreciated. ::tongue

If you're interested, please reply here or PM me. I do admit that this may be a slower game than some are interested in, but I hope you guys like it.

I'd love to play, really would, but I don't want your first game to be held up by a player that'll be absent for three months very soon. Btw, if the game isn't getting the attention it deserves so far its probably because the "View new Posts" button doesn't work right now... ::confused

Major NPCs that your character would know about:

Charles Cotesly-Almsford, Baron Perlbrook: Self-appointed head of the Aeon Society's London Chapter, this tall, broad-shouldered Englishman with unfashionably long, greying blonde hair and trim beard is related to half the noble families of Britain and known for his mania for Hindu and Tibetan culture, having spent much of his formative years in India and the Himalayas learning traditional fighting skills. He is an old crony of Safari Jack Tallon's who defied the entire ton by marrying his Hindu mistress Rukmini Nambissan and thereby legitimising his children Sashan and Suli after the death of his unlamented first wife Helene, a harridan of the first order. His eldest son Derek will be the next Baron Perlbrook if his father should fall in one of his frequent adventures.

Traits: Baron Perlbrook is a Daredevil with Mastery in Archery, Martial Arts and Melee, and the Enhanced Impact (Melee), Instant Expert, Lightning Reflexes, One Man Army, Resilient, Trick Shot (Thrown Weapons), Trick Shot (Archery), Universally Deadly and Untouchable Heroic Knacks. He also possesses Backing (Aeon) 5 and Wealth Beyond Avarice.

Surya Lanadhra: This half-caste Hindu lady has risen high from her origins as the daughter of a prostitute in Calcutta, her dark auburn hair, emerald eyes and golden skin giving her an exotic beauty that prominent Kshatriya scientist and assistant to Hammersmith Ranjit Tendulkar could not resist. She is a survivor of the Hammersmith Incident, though her husband did not, and has been a staunch ally of the Aeon Society since its beginning. Though her mother was a prostitute, Surya is descended from the Brahmin caste through her, and learnt much about the Tantra from her. Interestingly enough, she is a good friend of Maxwell Mercer and Michael Donighal - perhaps it is just the bond of all three surviving the Hammersmith experiment. Whatever the reason, her calm intelligence and serene outlook on life, coupled with a warm, passionate nature, gained her the leadership of the Calcutta chapter over more pure-blooded candidates.

Traits: Surya Lanadhra is a Stalwart with Cool Hand, Heightened Senses, Sex Symbol, Superhuman Reflexes, Woman for All Seasons, Aetheric Vision, Blazing Speed, Blindfighter, Optimised Metabolism, Touch of the Muses, Body of Bronze, Indisputable Analysis, Reptilian Regeneration and Sensory Filtering. She also has the Dynamic versions of Brain Skimming, Hypnotic Presence, Marked Man, Telluric Resonance, Dramatic Entrance and Perfect Poise. She possesses Mastery in Athletics, Style and Etiquette, with Backing (Aeon) 5 and the Kingpin and enhancements.

These are the major two NPCs that the team will be dealing with. Feel free to work them into your history as Mentors, Allies or Contacts - within reason, of course. :)
