It's your game, you're the GM and you should decide how you want to run this game.My elaborate answer was meant to provide more insight why I object against this rule (and give the other Players more information). The rank alone was more than the difficulty (Catslayer's SpD), so the final step would've been even more. Since the final step was more than double the difficulty, I let him do it without actually rolling.When the characters get to the point that their test step is double the difficulty of a task, I will usually be willing to allow you to forgo the roll (especially with 3+ dice).If this is a problem with anyone, let me know. Even if he's got step 18, say, he could still mathematically roll a 2...not to mention a 7. Chances are slight...but I would say we deserve the benefit of chance in the future.
