Her eyes glow a dangerous blood-red color; her black hair hangs with just a bit of frizz. She’s built slightly but is well toned. She usually dresses in conservative clothing, when she hasn’t forgotten to put on an article.BackstoryThe Morrigan came to attention when the young woman was seen in the Sudan, helping the local warlord crush opposition to his rule. She was feral and half-wild, controlled only through a careful mixture of drugs. News of the teen mutant being used like a war machine spread through the mutant community. Eileen Gomez decided to find her. Taking a leave from her position at the school, the brave teacher headed for the heart of war-torn Africa. Finding the girl was easy; getting her away from her captors wasn’t. Eileen finally convinced the doctor who was monitoring her cocktail of drugs that what he was doing was morally repugnant. In truth, he knew that, but a seven figure paycheck allows for a lot of self-loathing. It only took a little more coercion from the pretty Honduras native to push him over the edge. The Morrigan was released from the cocktail of drugs that kept her captive, but it took all of Eileen’s mental control to keep the feral mutant from rampaging across Africa in a rage. She spent the rest of her leave acclimating the young mutant to certain aspects of civilized life, such as chairs are for sitting and clothing must be worn. She also learned that the mutant was an amnesic, which the doctor Harrison Forsheim had told her was possible due to the drugs used. After Eileen felt it was safe to have the young woman around other people, she brought her back to the campus. Using the school’s connections, she managed to get Morri, as she’d taken to calling the young woman, declared her ward. They arrived over Christmas break, and Morri was secluded and studied. It was determined that the brain damage would correct itself due to the girl’s regenerative powers, but they couldn’t decide if the memory would be repaired as well. For now, the girl will be allowed to attend the school. Thanks to Eileen’s persistence, Morri can now read at a second grade level and speak clear, simple sentences. She’s still going to need continued tutelage to finish.InformationThere is information available on The Morrigan. A Google search will bring up her campaign in Africa. Several mutant watch website will offer sightings and reports, and all three of the images mentioned in Faces of The Morrigan are available online at various sites.
