Aberrant: 2011 - Superior Beginnings

The rain didn't really affect things, in fact they added to the battle being fought. The hellish scream of ionic thrusters cut through the thunder and the constant staccatto of the torrential rain. ""This ends now!" A white and black mecha, easily recognized as the Mythical Superior Gundam, streaked across the field, Beam Rifle firing emerald bolt after bolt at the the approaching armor battallion. Five tanks vanished under the emerald beam's light, but the remaining thirty-five poured their fire into the lone humanoid fighting machine. It is a relic from the past, when war was fought from the seats of giant robots called Mobile Suits. It had been the last of the premier type of Mobile Suit, the Gundam. Each Gundam was said to have the operational strength of thirty standard suits, but the rarity of the metal they were constructed of limited their numbers. In the hands of an ace pilot the gundams were said to have been able to take on multiple captial class warships and emerge victorious.

The Superior flew through a wave of death, and landed right amidst the main formation. It's left hand began to glow as the nanotech machines within poured out to take the form of The Achenerar, its legendary sword. The hand swung back then was brought down mercilessly on on one of the tanks, silencing it only a moment until it exploded. The battle is short, a testament to the carnage a Gundam creates when it does battle. The Gundam became a whirlwind of death, its gleaming blade the last thing most of tank crews saw. Finally the damage was taking its toll. The Superior's left leg buckled as it almost seemed out of breath. Its beam rifle discarded, it raised its sword one final time and was met with a hail of gunfire from the final tank's anti-personnel machinegun. Its sword held high, there was a flash of lightning revealing streaks of black oil and red blood on the massive weapon. The Young woman kept firing, not wanting to surrender, Her grandfather had told her how horrible a Gundam could be, how much blood they had on their metal-shod hands, especially this one.

Amidst the fire and rain and a hail of gunfire the sword came crashing down. There was a shriek of terror, then metal as the blade passed inches from the woman's side and bit into the heavy armor of the tank, where it remained. The Gundam rose to its full height, then emerald green eyes faded and then went dark. The great horror of the past fell backwards, the impact of its twenty tons causing the earth to shake and sending the lone tanker survivor sprawling. She picked herself up and then slowly made her way to the fallen machine. The rain drummed against its gundanium armor, which was suprisingly not as damaged as she thought it would be. It showed signs of weakening but was far from seriously damaged, but perhaps it was the pilot who had had enough. She recited aloud the rumor she'd heard about this particular machine. "Fitted with a Biocyber computer brain, it was said the machine perfectly synchronized with its pilot, the ultimate in Machine-mind fusion. Once established no force can surpass the Superior." She crawled up to the hatch and found the emergency access panel. She pulled the emergency release and the cockpit unsealed. Massive plates of solid Gundanium were pulled away to the sides and then the secondary plate rose up. In the cockpit was perhaps the last thing she'd expected. A young man, no more than seventeen lay there in the cockpit, unconscious. Closer examination confirmed the horrible feeling in her gut. She removed the helmet and saw the face of her little brother Akira, whom she hadn't seen in a decade since he disappeared.

The screen fades to black and then the credits roll for the episode to the new Sakamoto song and a selection of shots from the show. The assembled men are all smiles. The show's Creator, Yoshiyuki Tomino, in particular was smiling. "You have made all this possible Conner. A live action serial is something I'd hoped to see, but the funding demand was simply too much, or the machines themselves had looked too unreal. With you, there is no limit to what we can create. I will show the boardmembers what we have accomplished with your aid and We will be in touch if they give it the greenlight. Until then, take a month or two off, and rest. When you come back to us you must be in good health, For we are going t be very busy, my young friend."

The rest of the words were lost as Conner considered what had just been said. The Creator of Gundam had thanked him, and called him his friend. The entire flight back tot he states Connor could only think about the show, the designs and how to duplicate them all with his abilities. As he finally returned home he looked down on the city as the plane landed. "This is going to be my chance, I can do this. Two months off, and then I become The Gundam itself, and quite possibly the star of the show. This is so cool."
