Belated Introduction

N News Service

Boy is my face red. laugh

Just got an email today pretty much letting me know that while I know what I've been trying to do here, I was too much of a schnook to let anyone else know. So, here goes.

I came up with N! News Service for one singular purpose. To try

to throw things into our universe that;

1. Didn't disrupt canon. Mostly things that canon hasn't

mentioned (like Nova memerobelia being auctioned.)

2. Had fairly little in the way of detail.

3. I had no emotional attachement to.

I did this to just throw out fodder and give us some history apart

from the interactions of the characters. I wanted us to have some

events in our little shared universe that we could talk about. At the same time I didn't want to ever define those events

so as to preclude the involvement of others.

I mean, I am in no way shape or form trying to be a moderator. I'm just throwing some stuff out and seeing what sticks.

So, the headline goes, Nova A (not a forum participant) has done

X, Y and Z in the news. I don't give the why, or really much information

about Nova A. Thus, anyone can respond to the article, throw in their

two cents and BAM! It's now a work in progress. Now, I have no emotional attachement to how the info is interpreted. I mean, if I state that Nova Bob has come up with a new SuperKewlPlanetFixer that will solve all of everybody's problems, that doesn't make it so. Some other poster is more than welcome to come up and state that they have proof that Bob is a con artist on the run from the Camperelli-Zukov mob. N News Service never gets to come back and restate anything. The other posters get that chance.

So, I have taken requests (eg. Jager's buddies getting squished)

and in those cases the requestor really kind of needs to present something

themself to solidify those details they consider important. Doing this either

through Fiction or follow up posts of their own.

Now, as for Zach Bronstein, in my mind he is an Inspired character (not a Nova,

maybe a Daredevil) so he isn't completely out of his league in being the

premier (in his mind) nova interviewer.

The interview with Jager was done completely by me with Jager's approval, but

it is my least favorite piece of all. I don't think that I caught Jager's voice very

well at all and I feel it was a disservice to the character. The one with Elizabeth

took several days of emailing back and forth. Elizabeth did her own voice and

I did Zach's. Elizabeth's player had a tendency to write emotional responses

from Zach and I either adopted them as approriate reactions to what was going

one, or discarded them if I thought they were out of character. The whole thing

broke down at one point when Elizabeth's player flat out told me that what Zach

had just said could only be responded to by her walking out. So, we rewound a touch

and changed the tack. The Vile Bill piece was easiest, cuz, I'm both of them. Basically

the literary equivilent of me slapping the gibbon.

So, just curious, am I pissing people off doing this? Should I stop? Restrict myself solely to Zach's stuff in fiction?

Lemme know. smile

I'll be the first to tell you that I love what you've been doing. I like N news because everyone can be involved if they choose and Zach is just a lot of fun.

Please keep N News Service. I know I haven't really posted much in response to it before, but I enjoy reading others reactions. It helps keep us from doing the same old argument, at least for a little bit anyways.

Zach: "So what's with this whole cultural phenomena of virginal school girls getting crammed chock full of psuedopods while experiencing tsunami level multiple orgasms? How accurate is it in your personal experience and are you free on Friday?

Endeavor: "Omawarisan! Chikan o tska-mate!"

Zach: "Aw come on there, sugar-bunny. Loosen up. Osoroshii kangae nimo osoware mas. Anata no hiza ni suwattemo yoroshii deshoka?."

(Brief flash of light)

Announcer: "The interview has ended due to unforseen technical difficulties. Please stand by.

I dunno, LNSE. Sounds like a pretty short interview to me.
