Appearance: A 17-year old caucasian teen of mixed European heritage born in the United States. Flicker dresses almost entirely in the fashion of the so-called goth movement, with a tendency towards the more colorful and cuter aspects of the genre. (perky goth) She is tall for her age and was quite fit even before eruption. Her demeanor is pleasant and engaging.

Distinctive Features: For reasons unknown, she continuously flickers in and out of complete transparency, in an erratic pattern similar to the way an old fluorescent light bulb randomly flickers on and off. Her physical presence is continuous -- this effect is solely visual. Flicker reports that her eyesight is unaffected by this effect. She is unable to stop flickering without dorming her node and losing access to her other nova abilities and characteristics.

Known Powers: Flicker has demonstrated remarkable teleportation ability in distance, accuracy, and carrying capacity. She is particularly adept at teleporting rapidly, without the usual moment of concentration most teleporting novas require.* This ability coupled with strong situational awareness** gives her remarkable instant mobility.

Flicker has demonstrated the ability to see through up to 100m of solid material***, and can hold her breath indefinitely.****

Nova has unusual strength for a teenaged girl, and nova-class agility, stamina, perceptiveness, and intelligence. These four traits are all at the bottom end of nova potential, but still outclass the greatest baseline ability.

As a newly-erupted nova, it is possible that the subject possesses other abilities which have not yet been quantified.

General History: Nova Madigan was born in a working-class suburb of Cleveland, Ohio in 1990-- well before N-Day. Her parents named her Nova for its Hopi Indian meaning, "She who chases butterflies." She has no siblings. Nova's biological father abandoned the family in 1993, leaving her mother to fend for herself and Nova. He was later incarcerated in 2002 for manufacture of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).

Nova Madigan attends public high school in Cleveland, where she is an above-average fourth-year (senior) student, and has run on the track and cross-country teams. Her teachers describe her as outgoing and energetic, and it appears that she wears the distinctive clothing of the goth subculture not as a show of disillusionment and angst, but rather because she likes the way it looks.

Affiliation: Subject has not yet officially declared affiliation with any agency, but has earned the antipathy of Project Utopia in an unauthorized extraction and rescue mission at the request of James "Banhammer" Cooper, a freelancer who had been hired to assist her adaptation to life as a nova.
