Motley
Submitted for approval, with the support of:Gabriel LawLogeSaschaBellatorTeleforceThe original thread can be found here.Aberration: Unfocussed (Medium-Level Aberration, 6-7 dots of permanent Taint)Description:Rare are those who, affected by a negative backlash of quantum energy, escape completely unchanged. While some wear these changes on their external selves, others are forced to bear their scars internally. This is especially true for novas who may once have been particularly intelligent or gifted, and suddenly find themselves cursed with mental disorders or the inability to concentrate. Some might manifest alarmingly short attention spans or even brief fugue states, while others may find that their perceptions have become totally disjointed and distressingly chaotic. All of these symptoms indicate a lack of focus which, when applied to the conscious utilization of quantum abilities, can have devastating results.System:When deliberately attempting to focus his or her quantum energies, concentrating on the utilization of a specific power or powers, the character suffers a +2 difficulty to any and all activation rolls. This increased difficulty applies to all such consciously manifested powers, and cannot be attached to individual quantum powers as with "Permanent," "Uncontrolled," etc. "Unfocussed" is not compatible with these and similarly aberrated powers and it is not recommended that it be taken in conjunction with them. Players and storytellers are encouraged to be very descriptive in the event of spectacularly poor results.
