Current Events

Recently erupted, currently living in London, England in a small flat overlooking the Thames river. She is currently unemployed, but is pulling in royalties from a company using her likeness in an action figure line. She also works for British Petroleum, checking and helping with inspection of their oil derricks in the North Sea.

Background

Bridget MacArthur came from a pretty average home, raised in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. Her family was of modest means, and Bridget had goals for herself to become a business woman and help her family out. She was a hard worker, and an honest woman.

After graduating from High School, she decided to become a Flight Attendant and use the money to pay for correspondence courses to get a Business Degree of some sort. She loved every minute of her time on a plane. Even the rough times having to deal with bossy passengers or the break-neck schedules.

But it was one flight over the Atlantic to New York that changed her, and her future.

As it was heading into LaGuardia Airport, her plane encountered severe turbulence. Somehow there were manufacturing flaws in the wings of the aircraft. Combined with the turbulence, the engines were ripped off, and the plane plummeted into the ocean. Bridget was knocked unconcious and went down with all the passengers.

She came to an hour later, the hull of the craft ripped open and already flooded. Her instinct was to breathe, and she choked on the salt water. For a minute she struggled, as her body wasn't acclimated to breathing a liquid. But all of a sudden, she was breathing the water!

But it was dark. Dark due to the fact that the aircraft crashed a good 100 miles out from the continental shelf. She was 2.5 miles down. She grabbed a still undamaged life preserver and put it on out of instinct, and managed to swim outside of the craft.

She felt the pressure of over 2 miles worth of water pressing down on her, and started swimming upward. She knew inflating her life vest would be useless until she was close to the surface. She didn't understand how deep she was. After swimming for 10 minutes and still no light at all, she realized she was deeper than only a couple hundred feet. In a panic, she swam faster and faster until it was like a blur of nothing becoming brighter and bluer. She spat out of the surface of the ocean like a missile, and landed hard. She groaned for a moment, feeling completely drained. She inflated her vest and waited for rescue... if they bothered coming out to see if there were survivors.

Then it sunk in. She had become why she was able to swim from the bottom of the ocean to the top. She had become what had become an ever growing phenomenon. She was a Nova. Like those folk from Utopia. Like those who do great things.

She looked up at the newly rising sun, and felt like a newborn baby.

Appearance

Bridget wears her Eufiber which is a full-body bodysuit, it's mostly white, with sky blue piping around the shoulders and along certain contours throughout the body of the suit. She wears a light blue vest, which has a white with blue stripe sailor collar, with white trim along the sleeves of the vest itself. (She sometimes regrets coming up with having a sailor collar attached to the vest, but after seeing how much money it brought in with action figure sales, especially from the Japanese market, she kept it. Although she made it to be break-away in case someone grabbed it.) She also wears a pair of pressure withstanding goggles, made for her still nearsighted, sky blue eyes. She keeps her sky-blue hair in pig-tails. Just because she thinks it looks cute. She is of slight build, standing no more than 4 feet in height. She's been like that since birth, and it didn't change after her eruption.
