Before anyone asks, a couple of things up front:

1. Yes, Ptesan-Wi is hoping to find other "mesmerists", as she thinks that's what she now is.

2. Yes, any such "mesmerist" that she finds - latent or otherwise - will in actuality be a psiad; this isn't 1925. Fortunately, the rules from Trinity make it pretty clear that a psi-user has a chance (and not a bad one) of "pinging" even a psi-latent; call it a hidden advantage of the psiads.

3. No, this won't be a fast fic. Posts may well be seperated by weeks or months; what she's doing is not a quick or easy thing.

I have some suggestions as to why NOT to meet with TimeSlip as well as who PW might want to meet, if you care to chat about it?

Oh, there's reasons for her to not meet with Timeslip. The fact that Timeslip is wanted for murder is a good start. The fact that Ptesan-Wi is part of Procyon's controversial "Third Way" is another.

That said, Timeslip is the only nova Ptesan-Wi knows that can step between worlds, both Ptesan-Wi and Timeslip are Terats (and thus, theoretically, sisters of a sort), Timeslip comported herself well at the Pow Wow, and Timeslip facilitated Wakinyan's request for a crosstime trip. As such, she's the obvious choice for this little venture.

A huge thing to remember is that the Teragen are a "Nova Supremist" organization. There are plenty of reasons to believe that if TimeSlip discovered an entire race of beings whose power is inimical to that of novas (plus that her 'partner' has been masquarading as one) causes all kinds of problems.

For PW to use a Terat to find Psiads is dangerous in so many ways, especially with PW starting their relationship with one HUGE lie (she's a nova, not some alternate being of power).

Add to that, what happens if by using TS to find this Alternate Timeline Mesmerists, one of them sneaks a look inside TimeSlips Drug-Addled, Tainted, Transhumanist Mind and decideds that a race of being similar to TS is a threat to the race of Psiads.

TimeSlip doesn't stack up bodies like Geryon. No, she hangs out with Long, shares philosophy with the Mass-Murderering Proto-Diety Procyon, and ... oh yeah, she dumped a rage-induced Bestial Nova onto another unsuspecting Timeline already.

I suggest that PW looks outside of the Teragen for starters. Looks really heard. Mind you, finding someone who is smart, temporally gifted, quantumly inquisitive and very independent. Not's a very rare crowd.

Outside of that, Samhra is a better long shot that TimeSlip. The Nova has extensive knowledge of what Project Utopia knows and suspects about Psiads as well as a top flight investigative mind. Down side, she's gone over to the Teragen as well, I believe.

Ashnod has the same problem.

What PW, the teenager, needs to develop is the searchers that will not be dangerously suspicious about these 'deviants' they are being asked to look for, and /or look into.

The WCK is a possibility. Another intelligent, loner nova might be useful as an ally. (Machina and Noir). Beyond that, I've already mentioned her initial contacts with the Boston PD and Neil (with the hopes that Flicker might be able to expand helpfully on her capabilities.

I'd recommend Tommy Tomorrow - the nova, not the cartoonist - since he seems to have his fingers in the strange and unusual, if his OpNet posts are any indication. He's possibly figured out the existence of the pulp-era precursors to modern superhumanity. And I imagine that he may understand the value of Ptesan-Wi staying anonymous.

All that PW wants from TS is to visit a world with another PW. Not a "race of strange novas like myself" or anything like that; just a world with another PW - very much like this one, though with some specific changes; this PW won't be "livin' Lakota", for starters. She wants this so that she can try to "ping" another "mesmerist", so that she can be sure that she's doing it right at all. That's the sum total of what she's wanting here, and that's what she'll get.

TS makes sense to PW as the method for doing this. First, she knows (through TS's OpNet posts) that TS sees value in seeking out alternate versions of one's self. Second, TS is the only known crosstime traveller that can take guests; there may be others, but PW doesn't know them, and trying to find them would drag other people into this. Third, trying to find another "mesmerist" on this earth for the test risks (again) bringing others in on this. And finally, PW knows that TS has her own problems right now (and remembers from the Pow Wow that her mind was completely unsheilded), and can at least hope that that gives her a little bit of leverage if TS does find out that something is rotten in Denmark.
