The Defense of Human Dignity and Free Will Organization

Founded in 2022 by Annabel von Krushev, the Defense of Human Dignity and Free Will Organization (FWO) is a privately funded organization that lobbies governments and the UN for legislation that would restrict the access of socially endowed novas to the baseline population as a 'preventative measure' against the abuse of baselines by such novas. They cite laws and ordinances already in effect worldwide aimed at reducing the harm to baselines and the physical infrastructure of civilization from novas with parahuman physical capabilities.

The organization primarily cites the segregation of baseline and nova sports and the laws in place to protect the general populace from Elite operations to support their own social variations. This includes, but is not limited to, the banning of novas with parahuman social capabilities from participating in politics, appearing in general media, or gaining accreditation in fields that rely primarily on personal charisma or appearance (modeling, acting, the practice of law or psychology, etc). More extreme members also campaign for restricting the public movements of such novas so that they do not disturb urban centers and to curb the rising tide of cults of personality that are becoming prevalent around such novas.

There is no unifying religious or spiritual creed to the organization, though the majority of members that are religious tend to come from the conservative edges of their respective beliefs. The message of the FWO is kept scrupulously religiously and spiritually neutral to avoid accusations of attempts at conversion or motivations against social novas beyond their affects on the baseline population.

The FWO is primarily funded by three individuals:

  • Annabel von Krushev, the widow of Rudolf von Krushev who died of drug overdose while attending a party sponsored Avenka, a Pandemonium member. While Mr. von Krushev had been known as a partygoer and long-time drug addict well before becoming a follower of Avenka, Annabel still maintains that her husband would be alive today had he not fallen to the parahuman social pull of Avenka. Her husband's family were minor nobility during the German Empire, and made the transition from aristocracy to capitalism with deft political and economical hands. Annabel now leverages her considerable wealth and influence for the FWO.
  • Terrance Elroth, grandson of Trevor Elroth who made billions just before the coming of the Nova Age in dot-com companies, blames Alpha of Utopia's Team Tomorrow for 'turning him gay'. He and his wife joined the FWO shortly after Annabel unveiled the organization to the public, and Terrance is touted as their first successful 'detox'. Terrance is the face of the organization, often seen on posters, the FWO website, and on television posing happily with his wife and two daughters.
  • Julia(n) Njambe left her estates to the FWO just before committing suicide. The letter that accompanied the will explained that she could no longer live without the love of Jason Bellefleur-Waters, popularly known as Bombshell. Born male, Njambe defied his staunchly conservative Anglican family in order to pursue a sex change after meeting Bombshell briefly at a press conference unveiling the newest Dark Skies project, a zombie apocalypse movie called Dead Rising. After having sent Bombshell numerous love letters and pictures showing how Njambe had changed so that they 'could be together forever', Julia decided to take a more direct route to gain Bombshell's attention. She was apprehended before she could reach the nova's trailer where the set of Dead Rising was still being put together and, as per the usual legal process that had been put in place nearly a decade ago for the superstar, Julia was served with a restraining order that required her to stay at least twenty miles away from any site Bombshell was known to visit regularly. Julia poisoned herself with embalming fluid three days later, with one letter to the FWO along with her will, and the other as a public statement to Bombshell that Julia would 'always be beautiful for her now'.

Current primary targets of the FWO include:

  • Jason Bellefluer-Waters, often described as the most beautiful woman in the world. FWO protest rarely actually occur anywhere near the nova, but instead focus on the "Barsoom Communities" that have popped up in many Western nations. FWP members have picketed the nudist (nor nearly nudist) communities, lobbied for state or nation-wide 'public attire decency' laws, and called for bans on all media produced by Bombshell. So far their efforts have done little more than provide free publicity for nova actress and model.
  • Kristin "Euphrosyne" Theodopholis, a rising Greek novox singer and dancer, that has already accumulated a fanatical following among teenagers across Europe and is expanding her franchise into the United States and Japan. The FWO claims that her image alone is enough to cause an addictive state for such impressionable young minds and that many of her followers have dropped out of school to follow her on tours, where they are used as free labor for the star and exposed to drugs, unprotected sex or rape, malnutrition, and brainwashing.
  • Puck, founder of the Exalt! organization, has become the other newest favorite target of the FWO along with Innana (and both behind Bombshell on principle). The FWO funded paternity suits against him for over two dozen women in Ibiza, though none of the mothers were found to actually be carrying his child. Members of the FWO have called for the United States government to shut down Exalt! as a thinly veiled cult of personality hiding behind the legal status of a corporation. Suits have been filed with the New York judicial system on behalf of all current baseline members and applicants of Exalt! under the premise that those individuals have been rendered mentally compromised from exposure to the charismatic nova. So far all of the suits have been rejected, but the FWO has vowed to appeal each and every one up to the Supreme Court and even to the International Court of Justice in the UN if the Supreme Court rules against them. Included in their efforts now because of their association with Puck are the novas Shadowheart, Contess Agatha Isolde Donahue, Gwenivere Jewel Angelique, and Puck's nova sister, Brute.
