Warren is likely the strongest and most talented waper on the planet. His standard range is measured in thousands of light years. He can also create smaller gates and move them around to accomplish various effects such as reflecting attacks, cutting things, viewing objections around corners, or even flying, aka Silver Surfer like. He can prevent other people from warping or teleporting and render himself intangible by stepping into ‘subspace’ which he claims is the space between gates. He’s spaceworthy and can survive in the various places his gates can take him.

Included in his power is vastly enhanced perceptions and cognition, especially when it comes to patterns and the manipulation of large numbers of variables. He is great at figuring out how to go from point A to point B even when they’re events and not places. Warren is a champion surfer, swimmer and uses meditation as a focus for his powers. He has explored the world and speaks multiple languages.

Warren understands how things are connected, how they fit together. He sees that the shortest path between point A and point B isn’t a straight line. Puzzles & mysteries are obvious, as is what the next move needs to be on a chessboard, surfboard, or battlefield. Things which are out of place are obvious for their discountenance. He understands the zen behind “the sound of one hand clapping” and he can step through a gate which doesn’t have an other side.

History
Warren’s mother was a nature goddess, he doesn’t know who his father is. She could control the earth, heal, and make things grow. From age three to nine they were constantly moving from place to place to stay ahead of the mother hunters. When he was nine, his mother told him he needed considerably more contact with his peers and a better teacher… but he knew and she knew she was going on a risky mission to heal his baseline half brother.

That’s how he got started on solving puzzles. He turned to zen and meditation in large part to deal with his powers. Tactics and Navigation just make sense, he’s long past caring if his powers helped him master them. Given who and what he is, his history is one long series of disjoint stays, stops, and vacations.

At first glance Warren seems a burned out beach bum. His hair grows so fast he gate cuts it 3 or 4 times a day. Worse, he often focuses on things others can’t see or listening to things they can’t hear.

Effect: Nova gets +3 auto succ for out of combat warp, teleport, or similar rolls which can only be applied to extending distance. This enhancement is always on.

Description: A close relative of Sideways Temporal Viewing (see below), Temporal Fog ‘mixes’ the quantum signatures of the local temporal area with those of other “nearby” timelines. As even “nearby” timelines can be very different, and there are an infinite number, attempts to use temporal viewing (i.e. Precognition) and other related powers become far harder to use if not impossible.

Description: Sideways Temporal Viewing (STV) allows a nova to pick a timeline (see Cross Time Travel (CTT)) and view it as though he were there. While using STV, the universe the nova is currently in appears hazy, and any action, including basic walking or making simple observations, requires overcoming the usual Concentration penalties. The nova is not able to interact with the universe he’s observing in any way and any attempt to record what he’s viewing is handled with attunement. Finding a general timeline to view uses CTT’s rules for universe traversal, but the better a nova knows a timeline the easier it should be for him to find. STV doesn’t allow for moving his perspective around without him physically moving but other sensory powers (ESP etc) function as though he were actually in the STV observed universe.
