Fast Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+7-4=10)

Failed by 15; that minotaur is out of the fight.

Hex's missile hit the minotaur square in the chest, lifting it off its feet and sending it flying. It landed in the underbrush, and it did not get back up.

If the other stone minotaurs were worried, they didn't show it. Two of them stayed focused on Necronaut.

Big Stone Minotaur's Attack (1d20+7=20)

Hit by 1; Necronaut's Toughness Save (DC28) (1d20+10=14)

Failed by 14; Necronaut is Staggered + Stunned, unless he uses a hero point or unless someone nearby does something (like Interpose.)

EDIT: Jade uses Interpose. So Necronaut is not hit. He is, however, disarmed (see below.)

Jade's Toughness Save (DC28) (1d20+8=13)

Jade fails by 15, is knocked unconscious. (I am treating her as still having a +8 Toughness save due to her switching to Bo Staff Style.) Jade, if you want to reroll this with a HP, let me know.

EDIT 2: Jade spends a HP to reroll and gets a 37, beating the Toughness save DC.

Fast Stone Minotaur's Attack (1d20+13=21)

Hit by 2; Disarm Check (Damage Vs Str) (1d20+7=18, 1d20-1=15)

The fast minotaur wins and has taken Necro's Tommy Gun and all the powers associated with it.

On Strongarm: Grapple checks to do damage (1d20+29=46, 1d20+33=44)

The minotaur succeeds: Strongarm's Toughness Save (DC28) (1d20+14-1=33)

But it doesn't damage her.

The nimble one's swift fingers stole away his gun, and Necronaut saw the fist rain down on him -

- and then Jade was there. She took the hit for him. She dug her heels in, blocking the punch perfectly, and then she was gone, back to where she was before.

Meanwhile, the minotaur tried its tactic again, but with a strain of heroic effort, Strongarm's superhumanly tough body resisted the twisted arm.

Within the cloud of inky darkness, Euryale felt around by touch - getting close to the edge, but not quite there. Meanwhile, thanks to Jade, Necronaut was still lucid enough to keep his ghosts on task, and they continued to scare the daylights out of Stheno...

Next UP: Strongarm. You have until Tuesday.

On Deck: Gloom.

Bodhie was getting frustrated. The Minotaur proved much tougher than Spartan or at least it felt to her like this. The stone creature simply refused to yield and while they were at a stalemate he had hurt her which cracked her confidence.

Trying to turn the tides in this battle she reinforced her grab on the stone giant hoping to subdue it this time - if she failed again she'd have to change her tactics.

Stone Minotaur's Grapple Check (1d20+29=45)

Tie; but on a tie, on an opposed check, it turns out the one with the higher bonus wins, which is Strongarm.

Big Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC27) (1d20+13=19)

Failed by 8; Minotaur is Bruised -1 + Stunned.

Strongarm finally got the room she needed, and pummeled the thing in the head. She felt its grip slacken.

Next UP: Gloom. You have until Tuesday.

On DecK; Stheno, then Radiance.

Jade had barely looked away when the minotaurs closed in on Necronaut's new position again, homing in like locked missiles. "What--" she exclaimed, when the minotaur attacked. There was no way Necronaut was going to be able to to withstand another strike like that!

Instinctively she tried to block the minotaur's attack--and blipped over in an eyeblink, standing directly in front of him just as the attack connected. Necronaut barely had time to register that his vision was occluded before Jade was gone again, back to her original position.

"What--" she exclaimed again, her eyes going wide as she tried to figure out what just happened. After a moment, she settled for "...ow."

That is a hit, thanks to Euryale being effectively blind.

Euryale's Fortitude Save (DC20) (1d20+11=21)

Succeeded by 1; Euryale is unaffected.

The darkness vanished, and Gloom grabbed the gorgon from behind, the Darkness attacking the snake-woman's spark of life - but the creature was tougher than it looked.

Beneath them all Stheno continued fleeing her foe.

Now on Round 4. Next UP: Radiance. You have until Friday.

Jade shifted to a position in between the minotaurs again, and lashed out with her staff a second time. She had started to get a light sheen, breathing a bit heavily from her efforts thus far. "I thought Spartan would be all-but impossible for us to defeat" she mused. "Yet he wasn't half so hard as these guys!" A sudden thought struck her. "Hey Hex, when we're done with this, do you think you'll be able to free all these other guys?" She gestured with her staff at the statues scattered around.

Thanks for giving me some extra time, Mike.

Attacking all three minotaurs near the party. If I can only hit two, add 1 to the first two rolls. Note that while I remembered to subtract three on the actual rolls, I forgot to add ten! So the actual results are ten higher, as I've listed here:

3 attacks, 1d20 +10 -3: 24, 18, and 8.

For Glitch: I'm going to assume this is the non-grappled target?

It hits. Big Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC24) (1d20+13-1=20)

Failed by 4; the minotaur is now Bruised -2.

Jade's multi-attack - she can hit all three. Who she winds up hitting are one fast minotaur and the large one attacking Necronaut. She misses the one in the grapple.

Fast Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+7=25)

Succeeds.

Fast Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+13-2=15)

Fails by 10; Big Stone Minotaur is Bruised -3, Stunned until the end of Jade's next turn, and Staggered.

By the way, Indy - if you could include the Toughness Save DC of your attacks in your actions from now on so I don't need to look it up, I'd appreciate it. smile

Glitch's blaster bolt hit the big guy, staggering it enough for Jade's attack to hit home. It missed the one grappling with Strongarm and bounced off the lean minotaur - but it struck home with the large minotaur, sending a spiderweb of cracks and fissures across it, and limiting its movement.

Next UP: Necronaut. You have until Tuesday.

On Deck: Hex.

The Necronaut let his first two minions continue harassing the Gorgons, keeping his fingers crossed that they might both eventually succumb to gut wrenching horror... assuming they had guts.

He called out to the third, "Help Strongarm!" Then, upon realizing the ghosts had never been properly introduced he added "The large woman wrestling with the stone minotaur!"

While the ghost wailed and floated toward the grapple-in progress the Necronaut considered his options. His tommy gun was gone and he didn't have anything else he could summon except the air-plane. Oh. Yes, that would do.

He pulled his flying yoke out of his labcoat and twisted it 'just so' as he threw it up into the air. What fell back to the ground was not a rusty little metal rod, but a semi-real airplane, conveniently on top of the two minotaurs not actively grappling with Bodhie. He just hoped that semi-real was still real enough to badly concuss them... assuming stone creatures could be concussed.

AP for alt-power! Area blast 10 on the two non grappling minotaurs, ref dc 20, toughness 25, if I am not mistaken. The two frighteners are still maintaining and attempting to instill gorgon-fear respectively. The thrid ghost is attempting to aid Bodhie. This round that entails just using the 'aid another' action with its tk. At dc 10, that should be an auto-success with tk 9.

Fast Stoneguard Reflex Save (DC20) (1d20+11=17)

Failed; Fast Stoneguard Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+7=11)

Failed by 14; Fast Stoneguard is Bruised -1, Stunned, Staggered. He also drops Necro's Tommy gun.

Big Stoneguard Reflex Save (DC20) (1d20+5=9)

Failed; Big Stoneguard Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+13-3=12)

Failed by 13; Big Stoneguard is now Bruised -4, Stunned, Staggered.

Euryale's Will Save (DC20) (1d20+13=26)

Euryale makes her save.

The effect of shoving the plane into real-space was immediate - the sudden impact slammed into both the minotaurs near Necronaut, sending them flying back from him and cracking their shells considerably. They were still active, but not by much.

Next UP: Hex. You have until Friday.

Hex looked wildly around and realized that all of the minotaurs were pretty badly hurt by now, giving her an open shot at the gorgon that Gloom was fighting. She murmured her incantation, summoning the whirling sphere of energy into her hand, then hurled the magical bolt at Eurydale!

(Attack roll 17, but if that misses it gets another chance next turn. On hit: Dmg DC 25, Penetrating 6)

An attack roll of 17 misses Euryale.

The bolt of magic swooped past Euryale. She hissed at it, her head turning to follow it - while a dozen other pairs of eyes turned towards Gloom, and a hissing mane of snakes lunged in for the kill.

Gloom succeeds. All the minotaurs are stunned, though one is coming out of it at end of turn.

The snake bit her on the arm. Gloom felt her arm grow momentarily grey and cold. The venom in their fangs must have had a similar effect to their gaze. She flexed her arm, fighting off the venom - for now.

Slowly Bodhie was gaining the upperhand in this struggle and now saw her chance to finish her opponent off before the Gorgons would push their offensive. Her steel-like grip grinded into the Minotaurs stoney flesh hoping to crush it under the superhuman pressure she exerted. The huge musclebound amazon gritted her teeth and thrust her entire weight and might into her grapple with a force that could crush entire buildings.

Even with the +2 from Necro's ghost, that's still a win for the minotaur.

That's a hit, and Euryale's Toughness Save (DC31) (1d20+11=15)

Failed by 16; Euryale is out of commission.

The beam of light hit Euryale square in the chest, blinding her and burning her. She shrieked with the sound of broken glass on a chalkboard. When the light faded, Euryale collapsed to the ground...

And the fallen minotaur, and the one grappling with Strongarm, started to change.

"Just call me Ubu" Jade muttered to herself. She vanished from her spot again, reappearing by the stunned minotaur. She whirled in front of him, taking the time to build up some momentum for a full spinning kick, scooping up Necronaut's gun along the way. A moment later she was standing beside him, presenting the gun. "Arf arf" she said in good-natured annoyance.

Jade's spin kick sent the already-damaged minotaur-golem reeling, adding injury to insult. One more hit like that and it'd be down for the count.

It was around this time that Norman realized, losing track of a gorgon was probably a bad idea. What to do about it, though, wasn't entirely clear to him. For now he focused on more proximal concerns.

"Try Scaring the minotaurs senseless!" He shouted at the nearby ghosts, the one trying fruitlessly to help Armstrong and the one still hovering over the fallen gorgon.

For his own part, he took aim at one of the nearly-downed minotaurs with his tommy gun and opened fire.

Can I do anything to cancel the gorgon-chaser at this range without dismissing all of my ghosts? Mind blasts from both of the ghosts at whatever still-standing minotaurs are convenient. Necronaut shoots one of the staggered minotaurs with his tommy gun: 1d20+5=19

You may dismiss a minion with the same action you use to direct them, so I'm going to say that you can have the ghosts all attack the remaining minos, and the ghost on Stheno makes its way back but does not attack this round.

To hit rolls for the ghosts, since Mental Blast's range is reduced from Perception:

Necronaut's Ghost Attack Rolls (Big, Fast) (1d20+9=21, 1d20+9=26)

Both hit.

Big Stone Minotaur Toughness Save (DC24) (1d20+13-1=32)

It succeeds.

Fast Stone Minotaur Toughness Save (DC24) (1d20+7-2=11)

Failed by 13; Staggered. It has been staggered three times, so I rule that it's down and out.

Big Stone Minotaur Toughness Save (DC23) (1d20+13-3=11)

Failed by 12; Staggered x3 so it is also unconscious.

Good job Necro! I'm going to have to talk with you later about the ghosts.

Necronaut's Tommy Gun laid out one of the gigantic golems while his ghost overwhelmed what psyche the other had left. When they crumpled to the ground, the floor shook.

Next UP: Hex. You have until Friday.

Big Stone Minotaur's Toughness Save (DC25) (1d20+13-1=26)

But the minotaur is too tough to be hurt badly by it.

The missile did little more than chip off a little bit of rock. The golem made no sound at the impact.

Instead, it squeezed Strongarm, apparently oblivious as to how it was now outnumbered - or maybe, with no sense of self-preservation, it simply didn't care.

It seemed she had found her match in terms of strength which did much to get her off her high she’s been on. Until now she had solely relied on brute force assuming in her arrogance that she was the strongest of all. After the mindboggling feats of strength she pulled off it was hard to imagine that someone could actually stand up to her. Somehow Spartan had been the pinacle of her perception – the one who she thought to be stronger than her but he proved to be less of a challenge strengthwise than this... Minotaur.

Unfortunately Bodhie had little fighting experience, much less as a wrestler so aside from her amazing strength she had not much at her disposal to deal with this situation. Someone would have to help her or if she was lucky she’d gain the upperhand and maybe slowly grind herself to a victory against this stony beast.

It took her some time to swallow down her pride and ask for help, „I just can hold it, but I can’t really put it down... help?“, she yelled to no one in particular.

Strongarm saw her opening and took it, twisting the minotaur's arm and sending a spiderweb of cracks up its shoulder.

This time, it DID react. It looked disoriented for a minute - and Strongarm could swear that it felt softer in her grasp.

Gloom went looking through the foilage for the entrance - she found it, and thus, was prepared for what happened next.

Stheno burst out of the tunnel, her fear subsided and replaced by anger - which, when she saw the situation before her, quickly relapsed into fear. Euryale was down. Nearly all of her minions were down, and of those that weren't, they soon would be.

It dug at her pride, the pride of the immortal - but she bit down on her fear, and took the long view. She hung her head, and closed her eyes.

Bodhie didn't release her grip on the large Minotaur but instead of pushing on and pressing her attack she tried to keep it at the stalemate they were struggling over the last minute.

"Someone blindfold her, just in case!", she suggested maintaining her focus on her foe. Something was happening to it and she was certain that it was slowly getting softer under her steely grip. She didn't know how long this advantage would last so she hoped her team would make some quick decisions, she'd have to deal with the consequences one way or the other. Being locked up down here forever wasn't what she bargained for, though.

"Where's Jasmine Gold?", she added to her suggestion, knowing that she was the reason to come here in the first place.

"Actually, better question," Gloom rasped. "Are these all the prisoners, and do you guarantee safe passage out for them and us? None of this three for one bull that's gotten who knows how many people trapped down here."

She was angry. The only thing keeping her from expressing that is the hope that everyone here was a real prisoner, instead of someone used to bring the count up to three. But what had Jasmine Gold done? Gloom tried not to think about it - because she was pretty sure the answer was 'nothing' and they were here to free people, not punish the wicked.

She was looking forward to the day when she did get to lay down some punishment, though.

"They are all that we have." Her gaze was still turned low. "We do not know their names. Names are meaningless to them once they are given to Beauty. Spare us and leave this place, and free the ones you have captured - " She waved towards Glitch. "And they are yours. We will not attack you as you escape. But I cannot say the same for the Order that rules the surface."

In Strongarm's grasp, the female minotaur blinked, hard stone becoming soft flesh. She yelped with surprise and a little pain to see herself in the grip of Strongarm.

Meanwhile, the first male minotaur to fall reverted completely to normal, and began to bleed profusely from his wounds...

Stheno hissed. "Your time grows short, as does my patience. Make your decision."

The Necronaut kneels to stabilize the bleeding minotaur, pushing its life force back into place.

Seeing that things were calming down and that everyone was taking the offer, she sheathed Spartan's sword, and her own faded away, though her defensive matrix had come back up.

"Very well."

She looked to to Hex. "I have an idea on how to get out of here without going topside, care to walk with me?"

She trusted her allies, but not the minotaurs or the remaining gorgon.
