Name: Sarah Daunt

Eruption: Zombie attack.

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Description: Easily-noticeable with her 6’10 height, athletic build, and above-average looks, Sarah has an honest smile and earnest manner, dressing practically in a nod to her usual way of getting by in the post Z-Day world while away from her adopted community.

Background: Sarah Daunt grew up comfortably middle class, the only child of her parents, blonde-haired and blue-eyed. She graduated from High School, went to the local community college, transferred to an out of town school to get her Entomology degree, and was in her first year of study there when Z-Day happened. It got bad pretty fast, and she was half-way home when a zombie attack prompted her Eruption into towering megamorph she is today. Sarah fought her way the rest of the way home only to find her infected mother eating her father’s corpse. One freak out later, she found the remains of both of them splattered over her fists.

Sarah wasn’t a happy person for quite a while after that, emotionally numb and finding a niche in escorting groups of looters into the cities in exchange for a share of the loot, getting a lot of practice using her new gifts against the undead and predatory survivors. She made an enemy in the person of another Nova (Don’t know who makes this one) with a similar idea how to get by, Sarah’s sole enjoyment undercutting her rival out of good jobs.

Then she met Morgan Shelldon, the leader of a survivor community located in the outskirts of Marion, Indiana. He was… different, not a Nova, but a true believer in the idea that the Zombie plague would pass and the good in humanity would survive, a man who could make other people share that belief. He touched something in Sarah and she responded, becoming part of his small but growing community, a protector as well as a fighter and regaining a measure of her old happiness. It’s not like day-to-day routine in his enclave (patrolling, rebuilding, escorting foragers, training) was radically different from the rest of her life post Z-Day, but… the settlement felt like it was doing more than living from day to day, the people there spending little moments to spare on activities that would only bear fruit if there *was* a better tomorrow to come. Sarah liked that, it reminded her of the before, and despite the pain of comparing what it had been like to what it now was, actually using her gifts to help others thrive far more than made up for it. Here was a place she wanted to belong, one she’d be willing to spend the rest of her life protecting *and* being protected by. Eventually though, Morgan told her to go out again and share the word, giving her two gifts: a sword and a set of reinforced clothing.

Sarah agreed, but promised she’d be back again. Soon and often as she could manage.
