19-year-old Nuri Solomon is a young woman of Middle Eastern descent who was living, mostly happily, in Dallas with her family when Z-day occurred. She worked in her family restaurant, was preparing to go to culinary school, and was a generally a good kid although she rebelled against some of her parents more strict policies regarding boys and dating.

When the news reporting the mysterious flu and sightings of the walking dead appeared on the TV and radio, her father scoffed and refused to evacuate like so many of their neighbors. That was a mistake. The family was in the restaurant when the attack came and Nuri and her mother barely got out alive. Her father and her little sister wasn’t so lucky. Nuri and her mother managed to get to their car and dove as fast as they could, refusing to stop until the car was out of gas. They wandered for about a day before being picked up by a caravan of refugees and what they considered their good fortune turned into horror as they found out the caravan was full of redneck “good ole boys” and a particularly loathsome racist named Buck Avery was in charge. Nuri and her mother were quickly separated and the pretty young virgin became the personal property of Buck.

Nuri suffered through a week of degradation and rape at the hands of the foul, hairy redneck before the caravan, camped too close to a zombie filled town, was attacked and overrun. In the chaos and confusion Nuri was attacked by several of the creatures and in her panic to get away she stumbled through one of the campfires and burst violently into flames herself. Horror and panic gave way to the realization that she wasn’t burning to death. She was one of the super people she’d heard about on the news before everything went to hell!

With a grim sort of joy, Nuri instinctively let loose with her powers, burning anything that came near her, Zombie and Redneck alike. At some point, while her attention was on burning Buck’s motor home to ash, a zombie had shambled up behind her and in that moment of surprise the flames dancing around her flared up and she found herself... somewhere else. To this day she has no idea what happened to the Redneck Convoy or her mother despite her attempts to find out.

Since that day, Nuri has been on her own scavenging what she can for survival and trade. She’s made a habit of striking into the heart of Dallas for supplies and anything useful that would otherwise be difficult to obtain and has built up quite an eclectic treasure of trade goods. In her down time Nuri has taken to studying anything that could help her survive. She's been reading first aid and medical books, books on general home maintenace and carpentry, auto mechanics, and survival guides. While she shies away from large groups of people she does meet up regularly with another traveling caravan trading goods and news.

Appearance:

Nuri dresses in fairly baggy men’s clothes and always has her head covered with some sort of hat or hood. She is usually wearing sunglasses or goggles and tries to keep her face covered or hidden as much as possible. She is often mistaken for a young man due to her appearance and stature. Underneath her ‘disguise’ however is a very attractive young woman with mocha skin and bright green eyes. Her black hair is cut very short and it’s painfully obvious that she cuts her own hair.

Powers:

Nuri is able to generate fire. She can create tiny flames in her hand useful for lighting campfires and keeping herself warm, or create gouts of flame not unlike that of a flamethrower. She can coat herself in a protective sheath of flames and generate devastating balls of explosive fire. Nuri can also manifest a small flame over her forehead that sheds enough radiance to light up a decent sized room. Finally she is able to teleport herself instantly between two points in a display of fiery pyrotechnics.
