On the taller side of medium height for a woman, Precious lives up to her name with perfect, gravity-defying curves, a poreless, creamy-tan complexion, and exquisitely shaped musculature. Large blue eyes, a straight nose, generous mouth and high cheekbones combine to make her sculpted features achingly flawless with a Nordic cast to them; her hair is somewhere between amber and molten gold in hue, straight as bone, and falls to the back of her thighs when unbound from the loose plait she customarily wears it in.

She either wears professional attire or casual denim and t-shirts in monochromatic hues, but her clothing is cut and designed to show off her outstanding figure.

She is perceived as a calm, level-headed young woman who seems almost unaware of her stunningly attractive looks and massive intelligence but will often insert slyly self-deprecating comments about them.

In reality, Renee Burnett is intensely aware of the fact that she is 'white trash with a node' and despite all her knowledge, intellect and attractiveness, suffers from crippling self-esteem that is exacerbated by the fact that she erupted at the age of sixteen and was burdened by adult responsibilities because of her father being in jail and her mother being unable to cope with seven children, of which Renee is the eldest.

General History:

Renee Burnett was born in Macquarie Fields, New South Wales, Australia as the eldest of a family of seven children who grew up in public housing due to her father Jack being a habitual criminal with an extensive police record and her mother Jillian being unable to cope with working and caring for the children. Between her father being in and out of jail and Jillian taking off for days at a time, Renee was left responsible for her six siblings, and skipped much of her mandatory schooling because of a) lack of time and lack of interest. When she dropped out of high school at sixteen to get a job in the fast food industry, no one would hire her because of her poor literacy and numeracy skills. Her future looked to be a repeat of her mother's: get involved with the wrong kind of guy, have lots of kids to collect welfare, and pass on the cycle of neglect and abuse.

But Renee, unlike her mother and grandmother, had a M-R node: it activated when she walked into Centrelink, Australia's welfare and social services agency, to apply for Youth Allowance and the caseworker for her family looked at her in disgust. Within days she was ensconced within a Project Utopia educational programme, devouring every shred of knowledge that she came across, and signed to a five-year contract for what she deemed to be a decent wage.

Precious has spent the past five years fending off unwanted advances and recruitment offers, talking to young people at risk, her mother's demands for more money and her father's requests to get him out of jail.

Sometimes she wonders if she really has it all.
