History:

Lynne O'Neal was born the middle daughter in a family of six in Albany, New York; her father was a retired Navy officer who taught English at a military school and her mother a housewife who thought her husband was God. From an early age, Lynne questioned everything and everyone, pointing out mistakes and generally proving herself to be smarter than much of her family and their acquaintances. This landed her in behavioural therapy and eventual disinheritance when she was eighteen after refusing to enrol herself into the English degree her father had chosen for her at Yale; for the sheer hell of it, she took herself to community college in Queens and did diplomas in graphic arts and creative writing, supporting herself by working in a 7-11.

She had completed her courses and was preparing to look for other work when an armed robber with a gun decided to rob the store. Lynne's habit of arguing with idiots came to the fore and when he fired, she erupted, becoming intangible and dropping through the floor. Her employer sacked her because the store was shot up during the altercation and the robber got the cash anyway.

Since then, she has lived off her meagre savings while deciding on her options.
