[Trooper]

William Charles Stannick erupted in 2012 as the result of a common mugging. Thanks to legal precidence he was able to avoid incarceration for the death of his attacker.

Taking advantage of his newfound abilities Mr. Stannick joined the DeVries Agency as hired-muscle. He took to the militaristic lifestyle exceptionally well, finding a sense of purpose and order within it that had been lacking in his baseline life. He was never a remarkable Elite but was known as a dependable workhorse who served as a good supplement to baseline units. After three years of regular work he came to the attention of Dr. Rachael Alinsky. He had been given an experimental weapon to use in the field and his report was far more comprehensive and detailed than she had learned to expect from most Elites.

She has chosen him as her preferred beta tester something that has earned him the nickname "Crash-Test-Dummy" amongst his peers. He doesn't mind the good-natured ribbing as a side effect from his position as Dr. Alinsky's favorite is that his success as an Elite has increased dramatically. Both his mission satisfaction scores and his public image have made him a much more popular Elite. His action figures are sought after as having the best equipment of any current Devries figure.

Trooper's powers are not particularly impressive. His strength, stamina and resistence to injury are all superhuman but not earthshakingly so. His force of will and resistence to mental intrusion has also proved capable.

Companions:

Trooper has few known friends or contacts outside of Devries. Even for an Elite his social circle seems insulated. Outside of Dr. Alinsky most of his contact seems to be with his houseboy, Mfana Goode, a seventeen year old South African who takes care of Trooper's household.

On a mission in Central Africa Trooper was badly injured. Rumor has it something about the injury prevents even novas from assisting him. Rumor further has it he's been horribly scarred. What effect this has on a man who already has a violent history is unknown.
