Greg Mundy hated Mondays. First, there were the obvious, tired jokes, even from people that had told them before. Second, the kids were always little prats, every last one of them. But today, Anne Marie Vincenne was as close to making an exception as she had ever been, her knuckles turning white as abrasive fingertips dug deep into the tainted volume she held in her hands.

After a solid minute of grinding her teeth - creating a small flurry of stray silicate in the process - Sandcaster stood from her chair, handed the bruised book back to Detective Myres, and said with a deadly calm, "I am going to deal with this... 'gentleman', if it is the last thing I do."
