[OpNet] Well?

Fortune's Son

I'm a little surprised that no one's taken the opportunity to stand up on their soapbox and pontificate on yet another crime against humanity perpetrated by the machiavellian Anna DeVries through her Elite pawns. Or wax eloquent on the tragedy caused by the actions of the misguided. No one wants to condemn the Elites while praising the human condition of the baselines?

What's wrong? Why does the situation change when the bloody body is someone you knew?

Vile Bill's funeral is tomorrow so the wake starts tonight in Preatoria, though you'll probably see us all over the world. Save the sound bytes, speeches and notable quotables until it's done. Just step aside. Speak ill of the dead or interrupt and others will have the opportunity to share something with us.

Let me tell you about Vile Bill.

He was the biker making you nervous by eyeing your girlfriend at the restaraunt. He was the sonuvabitch you were facing off against in a fight that suddenly got that crazy glint in his eyes - the one that you knew wouldn't back down unless you put him down. He was the demon dogging the step of kings and presidents in their fitful sleep, the bad man good girls saw in theirs. He was a hammer when all you needed was a screwdriver. He was simple, direct, blunt and hated me honestly to his core. He managed to avoid Last Call and got out without ever paying me back for the jacket he ruined. He was larger than life, twice as real and bad to the bone.

Vile Bill was one of the few people I trusted and as much as anyone may have despised him they're poorer for him being gone. He was my friend and my brother.

Well... Looking at the bounty, I'd say a typical sentai of 5 elites should rake in on a fair dividend 10 million US. If anyone needs a tech expert on their team, I'll be glad to help. As long as the payoff is fairly divided.

As for the 3 million I got, Let's just say I'll put into the bounty 1.5 million extra to whoever gets the guy before I do. Consider it a race. The rest I just invested wisely. If I play my stocks right, the Hino Foundation is about to get a nice windfall. Thanks VB. I'll see if I can't get that motherfucker for you.

A simple thought.

Vile Bill's passing was tragic. I can't doubt that, neither will anyone else here. He may have been... rough around the edges, but he brought a presence here that will be missed by all.

But then again, I can't help thinking that looking at who he was and what he did, Vile Bill was truly one man who was happy with his life. He may have grumbled about certain aspects, but deep down, I suspect that Vile Bill died doing something he truly loved, and I know that there are precious few people who can say that.

I will weep, but then I will remember that Bill would not have wanted me, nor anyone else, to needlessly mourn. Knowing him, he'd probably want us to head down to our nearest bar and drink ourselves silly in his memory.

So, I got a room at the Amp Room booked for Thursday. Anyone who wishes to attend and drink themselves into oblivion with me is welcome to.

Peace to all.

Call from the airport and you'll be directed to the extraction point.

Be advised Preatoria cops are nervous about another journalist getting capped so tell them who you are at customs and there won't be any problems. They'll keep the vultures away for fear of a repeat of the incident from this morning.

Well, I will not claim to know this man.I will Not claim to say it was or was not a trafic afair. As you look at it many ways, from the fact that do to people like him, wars are "cleaner"..Less people die,and those that do die tend to armed..Then still death is death and most those that die are still young. As for this man, I cann't say I know what he thought of living his life style, but if he was half the man I hear about, then he knew what was in for when he signed on.

From what I hear he was eager to go into the middle of a war zone.I do not know why,but I do know that if you look for danger long enough you will get it.Now saying that, the man who killed him went to acts that are sicking, horried and could at the varry least be called war crimes.

As I said, this good man who died, most likely knew that death was varry likely.Still to kill anything like this is uncalledfor. So, I will meat anyone at all, and see this sick man is brought to justice, but not vengance.

I do not wish any reward.YOu may say that is crazy, but I have enough money to do anything I want and then some and if I need more I could do an add for some thing..I have enought corps offerening me enough money to say this.If he is cought or killed in a humane way do to the spur of the moment, will be given a fair share of 15 million dollars.I know it is just money but, I hope that money can remind people that if kill him in the same way as he kill,we no better thaan him.

Well what?

That's what elites do, they fight, and a lot of the time, they get killed. It's all part of the job. I'm only pissed that I never got my date.

Endeavor, don't be an idiot. You don't stand even the slightest chance against Epoch.

Apep I agree with you that mos Elites live and die by the acts of war.But the act of war have rules as well, and this Epoch must learn this.To strike him would send a message that killing cruelly will not be tolorated and that even the powerful have to anwser.

When I last worked as a full time Elite, I was, well that is not the point here. Epoch, crossed a line,a line that too many elites cross, and him being brought to justice will send a message to all groops that being cruel is wrong.Even the TeraGen gain from this.IT will mean less novas are killed, asit will hurt the out control elites.Mean less novas die,it will help Utopia as less people will die,and it odd will help those who remain elites as there may be les sof them, so more likely higher pay.As I am sure we all knwo of supply and demand...

Now, if Endeavor withes to fight Epoch, then I iwll fight with her.I know that last time I fought anova I owuld not slow this man down, but that was afew years ago,and I have changed.Nowwho else among you willl stand up for what is right?

As I said there are many reason..If you novas want money I said I am willing to put in 15,000,000 to the already 50,000,000 .So any nova who wants money can make a preaty penny from this .YOu Teagen have just another reason to kill him ,as he is free killing memebers of the "one race".

And Utopians, all of you know that this man if left unchecked will run a muck, untill he is stoped, and it may only be when he is stoped by someone wrose than him,no one wins.

So if the good Eneavor will have me.I will fight with her,and anyone else she dems fit.

And in case anyone is counting that is 65,000,000

Sandy: What you just wrote sounded like you want to FIGHT ME. Now, if that's a mis-understanding, please clarify your intentions. It'll be for your own good.

And if I get Epoch first, the 1.5 million extra I tacked on to the 50 million goes to charity. Your loss.

And I don't plan to go it alone either. Like I said, A team effort would be more effective. Especially with my lack of good hardware, and still inadequate combat skills. But, as part of a team, I can be of great use and help.

Sandy, Endeavor, NO!

Think about it a second. Epoch was under contract. Do not get into his headgames or you will end up just as dead as Bill.

Sandy, you said that Epoch crossed a line that all too many Elites cross. If that is the case, then it isn't a line anymore. As another poster once told me, "the game has changed since the 'Good Ole Days'". If you have been out of the business for some time, remember why you quit and don't jump back in.

Epoch is as cold and efficient killer as they come. Trumpeting out to the world that you are going to get his ass is a quick way to dead. Also, for Epoch, $65 million is chump change. All it will do is get a few hot-heads dead.

Epoch has shown, time and time again, what kind of mercy he expects on a battlefield. ON A BATTLEFIELD, FOLKS! Don't forget he handled three hardened Elites like toys. He even let them know he was coming.

If you can't keep whatever happens on a mission, on the mission, get out now.

Don't forget that Bill chose to got up to Kashmir. He chose to be an Elite.

While your at it, don't forget Saki or every other baseline that died on that mission. It is war. War sucks and people end up dead ... and it is what Elites get paid to do.

Bill, you will be missed.

Endeavor.

If its hardware you are in need of, make contact with me. I'm sure we can form a mutually advantageous understanding.

We can also coordinate training at some point in the future, but I fear it would not be soon enough in this case.

Alright, that is simply enough. Miss Hino, I would expect that if you had enough respect for Mr. Peterson that you would behave yourself here.

Now, I did not know, nor care to know Vile Bill. While I do not have the automatic revulsion for his profession that many of my companions have I had no interest in interacting with a man of his limited intellectual interests. But, let us be honest, Apep is completely correct here. His lifestyle choice was one fraught with peril, Epoch has commited no crime 'to be brought to justice for'. Please, stop being so juvenille. They were soldiers in a war, and he was killed in action. That is all. He lived his life as he chose, was admittedly more aware of the repurcussions of his choices than many of his compatriots, and he died as he knew he very likely would.

Miss Hino, I have seen you and I have examined you, from afar. I am completely familiar with your gifts of quantum expression. Please believe me when I say this, for I mean no disrespect, I only intend to pass along undeniable truth. Epoch would slay you without a moments difficulty. It would not be a case of David and Goliath, nor even Belgium versus Any Nation, it would be a quick, painful and unavoidable death. Please, reconsider your words. Also, challenging Apep to combat would result in a much similar fate. You are young still, inexperienced compared to many out there. Tread lightly.

Why I got out of the job?Jager..You want to know why I got out of it?Do you even remeber when I was an elitie?I was no big name, and wwile I am sure the money we are offering is small compared too what is needed.THat is not the point, neither is the fact that the crim he commited was done over and over.

THe idea that it was on a battlefeild makes it right, becuase what?Have you forgotten the Geneva convictions stating that some acts are too cruel, and inhumane, and are consider war crimes. Now seeing that I am not bring up the fact that Bill was kille,d rather how he was killed.

And if this wass a baseline who was killed this way,I am sure that the UN would be um in arms about, utopia would be hunting him down as if was a rabit.

And lastly I say I have my motives.Evne if this is just a slew of words, it will get things that I need to get done, done.

When have I EVER challenged Apep?!?

I don't dare challenge ANYONE I don't know of.

Asche: I'm starting to think that if any party starts, yours truely won't get invited. Oh well. They'll enjoy a greater purse I guess.

I'm starting to think I'm mincing words here.

You guys tell me to do something, but when I'm proactive I get smacked down?!? HEY! Vile Bill was a friend to alot of people here, and I think it's about time we stop wondering what we're going to do and DO IT!

I give up! mad FORGET I EVEN SAID ANYTHING! {Connection Terminated}

Let me say a few things here (specifically to those out for "Justice").

I'm not afraid of Epoch. Repectfull, sure, but not afraid.

Bill was my friend & comrad in arms.

Having said that, I don't really intend to go after Epoch (although that 51.5 is very temping). There was nothing un-just about Bill's death. This is a contact sport. People get hurt. Epoch plays very rough and kills those who lose against him.

I don't think that Bill's death was paticularly "horrible" because he was so tough I doubt he felt pain. Bill was really tough and he healed really fast (which made him a great sparring parter for a newbe nova who didn't know his own strength). About the only way to kill someone like Bill is to keep hurting them till they run out of juice.

This is the way we live. Bill killed WhatsHisName. Epoch killed Bill. IMHO, Making this into something personal would be less than professional. Of course, the flip side of Epoch's lifestyle is that he had better not expect mercy if, and when, he loses.

Bill was there for me in my time of loss and suffering and I will never forget him for that. We almost never spoke here, but we were friends, hell, he intoduced me to Brandon and was there for me after his death.

Still, anyone who goes after Epoch is a fool. Listen to what he said to Bill before the carnage and think.

"Your end has come failure! It is time to separate the wheat from the

chaff!"

To those of you who don't know, Epoch is a card carrying Terat who does what he does to Cleanse the Nova gene pool of that he considers to be garbage. I know 'cause I've met him and been judged by him. I have the scars to prove it.

I'm sure Epoch, whereever he is, considers this matter to be closed. Involve yourself in it and more than likely you will be judged by him in the same way Bill was judged.

Me? I know Bill had a good life doing what he loved and even giving back in return, although he would've never admitted it. He will be missed.

My sincerest apologies. I had mistaken the aim of your threat, I had read Apep's comment to you and passed over Sandy's comment, so my minds connected your threat to Apep.

Again, very sorry for the misunderstanding.

The remains of our brother Vile Bill, named William Francis Peterson by his parents, were interred today.

A marker of molecular bond reinforced iron now stands in the "graveyard" on the edge of the urban combat trainer called Helltown, located on the 200 acres operated by DeVries National Tactical Solutions. This is where Vile Bill provided training to more than a few young Elites to give them the skills and guile they needed to survive in the Barrens.

There was some dissent on the inscription so with time running out we etched his real name, Vile Bill, and the following into the iron before Diesel rebonded the molecules to something stronger than diamond.

"West Hell; said to be the hottest and deadliest part of the Greater Hells, was once the home of the most terrible outlaw to ever draw breath and spill blood on the sands of time.

In his stay there he seduced and subsequently eloped with the Devil’s only daughter. Enraged, the master fiend pursued them across the width and breadth of his dominion astride his legendary fire breathing bull until as last he tracked down the outlaw and found him astride his daughter. Then and there the battle was joined in ernest with no quarter asked and none given.

Eventually the outlaw took the upper hand, tore off one of the Devil’s own taloned arms and almost beat the fiend to death before deciding it was a losing proposition. With a crazy glint in his eyes and smile on his lips the outlaw took his blushing bride from her home atop her father's own hellish steed and departed by way of the front gates.

Before he left though; he passed out ice water to everybody - even that worst of the damned, those motherless snakes called revenuers - and turned down the dampers on the massive furnaces that kept the dripping lava cherry hot. He remarked that he expected to return to visit his wife’s folks pretty soon, and he didn’t like the house kept so warm."

Then we said goodbye.

It has been said that the measure of a man upon his death is often reflected in the number of friends he leaves behind.

From the look of that funeral procession, Vile Bill was at least a mile tall.

I'm sorry I couldn't have stayed longer, Jack.

From some funeral's I gain a sense of bereavement. From others, I feel that at last, a great load has been lifted from shoulder grown too weary from the fight. From Bill's grave, I felt a resounding sense of ... of ... of needing to go get laid (alot), drink a case of bourbon, and snort a highway of coke. Werever our brother is, he is kicking ass, chasing skirt, and calling out for "who's next!" The Devil best beware.

If only I knew where the exact location of the funeral was...

I did head to the local temple near the manor, and paid my respects to his spirit. Roughly around the same time as the funeral.

Vile always knew I ran my own show.

Sandy: Sorry I got mean there. I've been dealing with my grief incorrectly. I admire your want to help. After all, it's a fault of mine being the "hero" as well. I guess when I erupted, so did my concience. And it's a big hulking musclebound bruiser. I get guilt trips as easy as I get angry. Ask Jack. Sometimes you practically have to hold a gun to my head to get me to do something, and other times, you ned to straight-jacket me to keep from doing something stupid. :P Oh well. I'm a confused little nova... But, then again, alot of us are. frown

We all get stupid when angry. Perhaps I should have looked before I leaped. As you said, I need to grow up.
