Hey folks, with some o the newbies around, like the dude with the latin shit, I'm gettin a mite confused about what the fuck your names is supposed to be all about.

I mean, my name, Vile Bill, well, it's pretty fuckin obvious. I know why NoChance is called Fortune, I know why the Prof goes by Photon, but some others I admit I'm a bit confused on.

Ashnod, dear you lovely lovely thing, what the hell does that mean?

Apep, Pursuer told me you named yourself after a snake. That true? Nah, you too sexy for something that simple.

Jager, I figger your a big drinker? Jagermeister right?

Endeavor hony, whats with all this cartoon shit Tinybritches?

Why I call myself Endeavor? I do as I will, whenever I get the need. And I go with full intent to make my goal reality.

As for the "cartoon shit" as VB puts it, well let's say that's one of MY guilty pleasures. Besides, you should see the way I look. I sorta fit the part. Hey, what's wrong with being a fan girl. At least I'm no trekkie.

Wife number three, my beautiful Esmeralda, was Portuguese as is the name I chose after leaving my previous employer. Doutor da Redução translates roughly as Doctor of Reduction and is an adaquate description of what I can do with a little quantum.

I took my name from a character in the novel THE BROTHERS' WAR. There were two brothers who waged a continent-shattering war, and each of them were considered the most gifted artificers and machinists. Their names were Urza and Mishra. Each had an apprentice, Urza's was a toymaker named Tawnos, and Mishra had a woman named Ashnod.

Mishra, Tawnos, and Urza all worked with metal and steam. Ashnod worked with flesh and nerves. Because this often necessitated working on live subjects, she was called Ashnod the Uncaring.

Nonetheless, she remained the most original of the artificers, the most feared, and unappreciated.

Some part of that appealed to me.

I also took the name to remember a dead Nova who took his name from the novel as well, who called himself Urza.

Well Bill, I guess egyptian myth isn't your forte. Apep is the embodiment of chaos and destruction in the form of a serpent. It's domain is the primordial waters of Duat where it would attempt to devour the gods on their nightly journey to the underworld. I, unlike the ancient egyptians don't believe that Apep was an evil being, but a necessary part of the universe. You are not evil because you assume the role of the destroyer. Anyways, There is a lot more I could tell you about that incarnation of Apep, but I'm thinking it would probably bore you.

There are several reasons why I chose to call myself this, the simplest of these reasons is that I, like the original Apep, reign over the abyss, take the form of a serpent, and defy the gods. The other reasons, I'll keep to myself.

So yeah, Pursuer is not too far off, Apep was a snake. I used to go by another name that was as simple as "just a snake", but that one wasn't a name I chose, so I shed it.

[Teknokat]

Teknokat is mostly a Invented word tailored to PR. the "Tekno" bit obviously relates to my Technological Prowess, "Kat" relates to the slightly feline motif my physical appearance has been starting to take.

The Mispelling is for Copyright purposes, and to make it stand out more. Also, I admit, the Ks make the whole thing look a little more modern (At least, that's what my resident Marketeer says. I hired her for her talent, why should I gainsay her?).

I'm aware that the novel was based on an idea for a card game, but I've never played it.

I do. I lose every time. I'll stick to the arcades thank you very much. Although, I still have a mint 3rd ed DnD set. Well, actually it was my mother's. She played on rare occaisions.

Sorta wonder if her group is around. I could sure use some time away from the house. That is, when I'm not on some far flung moon of jupiter!
