PowerStar
If I have a Dex of 5 and Mega-Dex of 3, Enhanced Movement Enhancement, as well as Hypermovement (Running)1,do I have a Run of (Dex 5+Mega-Dex 3=) 8 + 12 [X 10 for Enhanced Move + Hypermove 1] = (20 X 10) 200? Or is it like this Run = (Dex 5 + Mega-Dex 3 = 8 [X 10 (Enhanced + Hypermove 1) = 80 ] + 12 (Base) = 92 Meters? Is it some other way? ::confused I'm not sure how this works, as I have always played a Flyer. ::halo Thanks for any and all clarifications. ::malrules
Alex Green
Apply Enhanced Movement Last.Your Dex for movement is 8 (5+3).Sprint is 20 + 3 x Dex meters.Hypermove makes that 20 + 9 x DexOr 20+9*8 => 92 meters. With Enhanced Movement we multiply that times by 1+M-Dex, or 4.Your "Sprint" movement rate is 368 meters.Out of combat you just have basic hypermove, or 500 km per hour (And multiple lines make your post more readable). Nullifier
Um. I was under the impression that Enhanced Movement affected Hypermovement speed both in and out of combat. You can turn it on for a whole scene, after all, and it does say to apply the multipler after determining the character's movement rate with Hypermovement. So a character with Med-Dexterity 3, Hypermovement 1, and Enhanced Movement with both EM and HM activated, the charachter would move at 2000kph. Unless I'm missing something? Alex Green
Only that it doesn't make sense. We've had discussions about this here before. In a nutshell the problem is an enhancement shouldn't be far more powerful than a power. The above character is a good example. If EM applies to Hypermove out of combat then he effectively has 4 dots in hypermove for out of combat movement. EM works on lots of other types of movement as well, if he gets a dot in hyper-swimming then he has 4 dots in it. Ditto hyperflight (or even generic flight). Pretty good for 5 experience points, and a couple of orders of magnitude more effective than all the other Dex enhancements. If he drops 5 more experience for another dot of hypermove he then effectively has 8 dots in hypermove. Meaning that he easily passes someone with *only* 5 dots in hypermove (meaning our specialist in movement had better get a Q8 just to keep up). Then you have the problems with the damage his 'wake' leaves with his effective 8 dots. All these problems (and others, like the minuses to hit) go away if EM only works in combat.
