[OpNet] What are your religions after eruption?

Hell ya!

Look, what possible reason did I have for hanging out for a communal moment with zips when there was an entire world waiting to be explored?

Let'em drug themselves into a religious high. I have the power of god tingling in my skull and it's not telling me some lame parable about water and wine or why the church needed to engage in intrigues for temporal/political power. It's singing to me and the song is pretty sweet.

I suppose it all depends on what religion you belong to and how you view your eruption. If your pre-eruption faith is anti-nova you've got a major problem. If not then it's as simple as do you agree with what they teach about novas. Hinduism and Catholicism for example view novas in radically different ways.

I did have to change my religion but that's because I had the misfortune to fall into the first category.

Well if you're a Hindu nothing cool

And it's obvious you aren't the god of correct spelling it's mores not moores.

Seriously it all depends if you think that you are a god doesn't it.

What's wrong with being the god of humans?

Are you serious?

It limits your possibilities to that which can be conceived by minds that can't even begin to understand what you are capable of.

I don't pity zips for their lack of ability in the quantum arena. I pity those that can't conceive of becoming more than they were.

I couldn't say that my religion really changed once I re-awakened. But it did evolve as I did.

Instead of being in the service of my god, only living to sate his will and follow out what I believed he would have me do, I now see him more as a rolemodel. Now, I have the potential to acheive all that he has. Only now can I truly radiate what he is.

I don't think that my being a nova allows me to disregard my previous spirituality. Being of the race allows me to mold myself into the goddess that Sutekh would have me be. I will walk beside him.

Radiate, but radiate with your OWN Godhood, not so much in the name/image of another.

You have the potential to do ANYTHING people. If you must emulate someone, let it be the Superman,(Neitzsche's Superman, not the comic character). Learn the rules of the Universe, but then DEFY them, as I have. Use your gifts! See the whole of reality, and YOU determine what it is!

My faith prior to my eruption was a simplistic and untested thing. Since that time I have peered into the mysteries of the universe and found answers to many questions once thought unanswerable outside of the temples of the world. But I have not found all of them.

Even with the resources at my command I have found certain answers elusive and confounding. In these mysteries I have found God. I do not follow any dogma handed down from the ancients. I follow my own path. I let my will temper my desires and through this I hope to continue on in my path to being that which I am capable of. If this is God's will, and some part of me believes that it is, then I hope that I bring glory to his creation by perfecting my part in it.

qp,

Do not begin to think that a deluded piece of fuck like you can even attempt to understand my beliefs. Do not insult my spirituality again.

Yes, everyone know that our kind are capable of anything. As my god has proven. Seeing him as an example and proof of that theory, and then aspiring to do the same is by no means stifling my potential. You stick to your baseline philosophies all you want.

Congratulations, you have annoyed yet another poster on this forum.

Or that she's someone that perceives your tedious lack of tact and other social skills as a grievous obstacle to be overcome for no reason other than the fact that you lack the muscular ability to close your mouth. Or at least refrain from making yourself look foolish in public.

As an omnipotent being don't you at least have the awareness that such things exist? At least theoretically anyway?

The nice lady made a very nice request but no, you had to open your mouth one more time. Why? Just to prove that it's possible to express MR Node manifestations without the accompanying presence of brainwaves? If so congratulations. You succeded.

2). We could do without the insults

Speak for yourself, boy wonder. I'm lining up a front row seat, dead center no less, and a nova sized bucket of popcorn (with butter and extra salt) just for the spectacle of watching a real badass go to town on your tiny node.

3). Nietzsche was a nova.

Nietzche was an underdeveloped geek with an overdeveloped ego. Philosophically fairly advanced, not bad for a baseline, but limited at all the same. Another of your personal heroes, I take it?

I find your flexibility in your positions to be truly remarkable, bucko. Keep it up, mate. Any day now you're going to surpass the mighty Jager in your inability to actually committ to a position.

Buh bye.

This started out at as response to the question of religion after eruption, but it seems this forum has rapidly degenerated (yet again) into a barrage of insults.

Is it that Im powerful?

That I created and then unmade an entire universe?

Or is it, as I suspect, a flagrant venting of your own ignorance?

´Ey, snake woman; why are you reacting so harshly to our resident Quantum Gimp? He might be tactless, but it kind of helps to see him as the demented comic sidekick on these forums.

I´m not pretending to be a nice guy here (and please don´t tell anyone), but just see him for what he is; impro entertainment, Fool TV with a pulse.

Uncle QP, I still love you. Tell me another story; that one about the submersion of California is my favourite!

Gee, Qupie, that stung. Okay, you asked a question so I'll answer you. I won't even make an attempt to insult you though you may find some of what I have to say insulting enough.

Are my responses primarily rooted in ignorance?

Why of course dear child, they are. I have never known the N-man personally so there really is no way that I can say definitively that he was baseline human and not a nova. The odds are on my side, same as in asserting that Martha Washington was baseline rather than nova but the question is; can I prove it?

Nope.

As for deriving pleasure from your lack of social grace and interpersonal skills; guilty. I'm sorry man, really I am. You want acknowledgement based on your enormous power? Dude, I work with a set group of powerful novas all of whom I poke fun at when they act like pompous morons and try assert superiority based solely on quantum manipulation. In other words; the most ego-centric and admittedly tweaked personalities I know get the same treatment you're getting from me when they act the way you're acting.

Now, please understand this part because it's very important:

I DON'T CARE WHETHER YOU CREATED A UNIVERSE OR NOT.

Really.

I personally think you're a nutter running around with too much taint and a lot of imagination but I can't prove it so let's assume you really did create a universe.

So what?

Think about it for just a microsecond O'Omniscient one. Is there any power more completely and totally worthless to your interaction with others in this universe than being able to create another universe? I mean, I'm never going to set foot through a portal created by someone like you because... well, because they're someone like you. So does it really matter to me whether you created a universe or are just slacking off?

Nope.

Now, let's get to the crux of the matter. Why am I treating you with nothing but disdain? Well, it's primarily rooted in the fact that you ask a question like; is there anything wrong with being the GOD of humans, and then turn around and try to offer advice that is not in line with your own position.

Personally, I think there is something wrong with trying to act like the God of humans but not everyone agrees with me on this so the response I provided really was a personal one indicative of nothing except my own opinions. Nonetheless, I gave you a tactful and sincere response to your question. I treated you like someone I disagree with but who had the right to actually ask that question.

Following this you have the gall to offer advice to someone that did NOT ask you for it. Someone that was answering the original question about religion. Did it even occur to you to ask for clarification before you shot off your mouth again? Did you even consider that actually trying to understand her position before acting like you understood it might have been a good thing?

Then, when the dear lady sweetly requested you refrain from offering her advice (that would be the part where she referred to you as 'a deluded piece of fuck') you actually had the gall to try and speak to her as though you were representing all of us. That would be the part where you used the editorial 'we'. If you were in fact speaking only for yourself and the unnumbered cast of voices in your head then I will owe you an apology.

So... Enough with the bullshit QP. No, I don't care if you really did create a universe. Even if you did, and could prove it, I would still think you were muchning on caramel coated kernals of taint and feeling the need to be something special when in fact you are just one more among thousands of us.

You don't like this? Then change your manner before you get dismissed as an out of control ego-centric neurotic by everyone. Or crawl back into whatever parallel universe hidey hole you favor and make some worshippers. 'Cuz you ain't gettin'em here.

Thank you Jack. I was going to reply in my defense but I think you summed it up pretty good.

qp,

Let me give you some unasked for advice. If you really do create universes, please do yourself a favor, create your own opnet and bother them. I don't think the kids around here want to play anymore(well except for Jack C. here who finds you most amusing.)

Anyhow folks, back to the topic at hand. I'd be curious to hear other answers to the question.

What a truly fascinating question.

To render the issue moot (insofar as I am concerned), I was not a religious man before my eruption, nor am I now.

Though if you consider, say, Buddhism a religion, then I may elucidate on this subject. And no, before you jump to conclusions, I am not, nor was I ever a Buddhist. But just as Buddhism is not so much a religion as a life-path, a guide of being, a set pattern of behavioral codes and edicts to govern self and spirit, so too is my "path".

To be brief, let me say that though the song has not changed, it is being played on greater, finer instruments and being broadcast over a wider span with enhanced clarity. Where once I limped, I now run. Where once I dared only to dream, I now will to truth.

The path remains the same. Eruption has given me the strength to travel it to the end.

I wasnt religious either, but hell, my eruption

sure changed that!

I mean, I still dont belive in God or Jesus, but suddenly being able to move at obscene velocities makes you really start to think about how you see the world.

For instance: I can still see when Im skimming light speed. Why? In fact, why can I breathe at that speed? Why can I live?

Man, I thought being a nova I still followed laws of physics, but I just dont know anymore.

Well now, that's a pit of a poser now ain't it? Okay, I was raised by a momma lived and breathed Billy Graham. Thought the sun rose and set in his smile. Now, mah daddy, he wasn't the most religious man you could fine. He said he was a good Southern Baptist, but he loved dancin, drinking, and hollerin' a bit more than the preacher might allow for. Now, don't get me wrong, he was still a good man. Raised me and mah brothers and sisters right well, didn't smack us more'n was deserved and kept us fed 'n clothed.

So, if I had to give a name to what I was thiniking when I clapped mah hands together before chowin down on Sunday dinner, I guess you'd have to say I was Baptist too. But I have to admit, I don't think Jesus'd think too highly of some of the things I was doin' on the other six days of the week.

Nowadays, I kick ass, drink shitloads of booze, party with right nasty women every chance I get but I think I'm a better man than I was. God has to cut novas a little slack. He gave us the ability to do what we do, he must've wanted us to do something with it, and that's just what I'm doing. Now, I dig Jesus, and I hope I go to heaven someday, but I gotta live life. That answer your question?
