Can I ask which charecters have been accepted so far, and a brief overview. One of the things i've very found of in games is not having too many chars with clashing areas of expertise. Also It will allow some of us players to work a little back story into the game before hand so our chars wont be treating each other like complete strangers from the outset.

Spy / Thief/ Impersonator / Translator (32 languages with a native accent) / Close combat specialist / World class Chef

character approved...

The aforementioned Delta Green has a British organization called PISCES.

Intelligence

Counter-intelligence,

I've been told that my background is 'classified' - but his name is Captain Future, he can move things with his mind, & his has a ray gun... ::biggrin

Name-wise, Adventure! already has the British organisation the 'Supplimental Resources Office', although I like to make that sound a little more British myself by calling it 'His Majesty's Supplimental Resources Office', or HMSRO. Then again, I also alter things so that HMSRO was around a long time before the American Branch 9 (since, historically speaking, the Americans were basically taught how to do the espionage thing by the Brits - the Brits having the advantage of many, many, years of inter-European espionage under their belts already by modern times).

Sorry everybody for my absence lately (busy at school, thats also why I havent replied to messages).

This is my thoughts about how this will work, but as im new they will be changed if someone presents an easier way of doing it:

1. Il make all the dicerolls and so on, and pleas use brackets when you intend to use some nifty powers.

2. I dont honestly know how combat will work, but most probably they will be dealt with as with the usual roleplaying. I might make an online combat-sim or something so that we can speed combat up a bit. Dont know, well have to see.

3. The organisation that you work for is now known as 'His Majesty's Special Operations Office' (HMSOO).

4. I plan on posting (or at least check the forum out) twice a day (once at around 11.30 GMT and once at around 23.00). The first time is a little touch and go, but the other is once that I should be able to make almost every day.

NPCs (that you should know about):

Colonel Arthur Wintergate, your senior officer as well as your commanding officer.

Master Sergant Culum Connoly, a scottish munitions officer, hands out your equipment.

The Team (as of yet, al of them have been approved.)

Captain Brick Beckham AKA 'Captain Future' (ProffPots): Background is as of yet classified.

Arsène Lupin (ezekiel): A french resistence fighter with great knowledge of languages as well as the ability to outshine a shadow in the fine art of sneeking quietly.

Ivan Pakhomii (Chieftain): A Sovjet diplomat with a burning hatred against the germans for the attack and rape of mother russia.

Brian Courage (Prince of Boredom): A US soldier with extensive combat experience as well as an iron will.

Cassandra Stanton AKA 'Cassie' (tooho): A well traveled young lady with an anstonashing knowledge of languages as well as a voice that could command the dead.

I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that. I didn't know there was an animé on him though. He's a french litterary character, a gentleman robber. The type who steals the countesses jewels and she loves him for it. For a chronology of his exploits (in the books, which includes an encounter with Sherlock Holmes..) click here

Y'know, rereading that, I'm wondering if I shouldn't go the distance and make the character as Lupinesque as I can...

1940

During the occupation of Paris by the Germans, Lupin, first posing as former head of the Sureté Lenormand, then as "Colonel Peer Linnaus", outwits Oberleutnant Von Keller (revealed

by Anthony Boucher in Arsène Lupin vs. Colonel Linnaus).

The character fits really well too...

I think the animé character is 'Lupine III', & is based on the literary character (meant to be a descendent) - I just haven't read the books. ::wink The animé is pretty funny stuff. I can't recall the names of the various films now - 'Castle of Cogliostro' or something similar is one, I think... ::confused

Now, I wonder if anyone can figure out where the name 'Brick Beckham' comes from... ::sly

Coolio. Great to see the team comming together.

Can I ask if any of the chars feel like doing a bit of charity work? my char background required him to be rescued from the nazi's a few years earlier. would be a nice plot hook if one of the charecters was the one who led the mission that got him out.

If nothing else, it's going to be interesting to see Lupin in action, much less Captain Future. ::biggrin

Not that I expect any less of Ivan and Mr. Courage. ::wink

Definitely was, and I agree on the entertainment value of the anime, but then I'm prejudiced. It was the first anime I was exposed to. ::rolleyes

Looking forward to playing with yall.

Chieftain,

Depending on the time frame, Brian may have been involved. He was a soldier in the French Foreign Legion from '39 to '41, so they could have been the one's that rescued him.

Hey fellow players!

Dunno if you're like me but I made my character based on the chart on p. 116

You also get:

1 free background point related to Origin

1 free background point related to Allegiance

1 free inspiration point (I thought it was weird you didn't start with any...)

I think that's it.

Character research...done! I actually managed to squeeze a plausible explanation for the Timeline discrepancy.

Jean (Arsène 2nd) Lupin (1899 - present) is the son of Raoul (Arsène 1st) Lupin (1874 - present). Kidnapped as a toddler by Joséphine Balsamo, she had him trained and eventually tried to use him against his father. After learning the truth about his heritage (early twenties, moment of inspiration) he trained under his father and after a few successful capers unders his father’s tutelage, took up the name “Arsène” Lupin and carried on the legend of the “Gentleman-Robber”. The notoriety of Lupin is known throughout Europe and he never steals something without warning his victim first, thoroughly embarrassing the invariably rich and often of noble descent victim in the process.

Rest is classified...:)

Actually, so did I.

Sorry, madcat. I'll fix it and send it to you.

Reality check:

I have trouble enough keeping up in the other games going on here, and I can't seem to get my head around the character I wanted to play. Somehow the Inspiration wouldn't come, and I've decided to take that as the omen it no doubt is and sit this one out.

My spot is all yours, Heritage!

Any chance you could start the in-character thread with a description of where we all meet up with each other madcat82? That way we can all be getting our mutual introductions & descriptions done in-character whilst you're finishing your scenario planning. These things can go for pages without any ST input (trust me, I know), & I for one prefer to describe my character 'in-character' rather than to give an 'out-of-character' description that the other PCs may well have to ignore at a later date. It'd also prevent the need for us all to post repeat descriptions OOC & IC as well (when the PCs actually meet up).

Anything would do - a waiting room before we see the guy in charge, the local pub, the street outside the offices - anything.

Yes, I'm eager to get posting IC... ::thumbsup

Everybody's been using green so far for dialog ('cept the evil black and white Brilyn ::wink ) Is that coincidence or are we using it to denote speaking in English or something?

anyway, if any of you are wondering about german ww2 equipment here're a couple of nifty sites:

For weapons:

http://www.diggerhistory.info/pages-weapons/enemy_ww2.htm

Souvenirs taken by the 101st airborne:

http://www.101airborneww2.com

I imagine we'll all have a false "soldbuch". German soldier's paybook which also served as identity papers...My character's medic bag is taken from this last link as well...
