Obsidian Shade
i'm sorry, but i got another question ::halo what about using energy powers while beeing less or more intangible by using Density Control [Decrease]? one of my characters got Density Control 3 and has a "Fire Breath" (Q Bolt). can he use it, while he is physical untouchable?thx for replies
phoenix
I would think yes, because DD specifically mentions that you can solidify a single body part at a time for attacking purposes. So you might have to solidify the mouth for a minute, but you could still do it.
Finbar
1) The "solidify pat of you" isn't allowed until DC(D) 5.2) Summing up another thread: The ability to use q-bolt depends on a) how you interpret "can't affect anything you can touch", and if you allow the effect to follow the defense. Taking first (it's just easier that way ::sly ): Physical attacks do 1/2. then 1/4, then none for the first three dots; that's both your attack and any atacks directed at you. Energy attacks to you do 1/2, then 1/4, then none for dots 3, 4, 5, respectively; if you follow through as with physical attacks, then you'd do the same amount of damage. However, this only applies if for a) you rule that "can't affect anything you can touch" applies solely to straight-forward physical attacks, and not to to energy attacks. As a case can be made both ways (see the appropriate thread), I would advise talking to the ST and/or your group.Side Note: In this case I'd probably rule that the "fire breath" attack would be at full power no matter what. My reasoning is that since you must breath (and gases can affect you), then I think a breath attack could ignore the usual restrictions, as long as it was affected by wind affects (otherwise, no, as it's not really a gas). Logic is sometimes a weakness can be a strength, and if I think that applies here. But, like I said, talk your ST and/or group about it....FR
phoenix
Well, see, that's the problem with logic. Say you have DD5, theoretically, gravity and friction wouldn't affect you and you should go flying off of the earth faster than a bullet fired from a gun because of the centrifuges created by the earth's rotation and revolution. Either that or gravity does affect you and you should sink to the center of the earth. Also, since you'd no longer be able to interact with the air, you wouldn't be able to breathe, and since you'd no longer be able to interact with photons, you'd no longer be able to see - and you'd be invisible. All your senses would be shut off, and you'd be impossible to sense.
Obsidian Shade
ähm, i am the ST ::confused and my group plays for the first time a WW Game (execpt one player). but i think you should use energy attacks as mentioned in 2) . i don't want a nearly invulnerable - Q Bolt firing - Storykiller ::rolleyes and i'm sorry, but my search didn't found another thread?!
