i started a conversation before about Highlander and making it into Aberrant, people seem to have gotten a kick out of that. Well any way, i've been watching the Tick and i think it would be an awsome Aberrant setting! players could pick if they wanted to be a super hero with around 15 to 20 nova points, a baseline hero like batman with extra backgrounds points(for resources and more attributes, they wouldnt have any quantum) , or a side kick with normal baseline stats.

ofcoarse the game would be more humor oriented, but that would just make it more fun. how would some of u do this one?

a little correction. as far as the Cartoon goes as a sidekick u could be an animal, but i'd guess if u wanted to be a dog (or whatever) side kick for some random hero or another player, u could make the dog like a person... the dog in The Tick vs. The Tick could even talk, so could the monkey!

This came up in the Highlander crossover thread too, but if you aren't going to let anyone have any Quantum, why are you bothering to play Aberrant? Everything I can remember from the cartoon could be done with Adventure! if you give players a few extra transformation points.

The Tick in Adventure! is someone with maxed out Stamina and Strength, ability mastery in Might, Endurance, and Resistance, a couple dots in Brawl, really low Perception and Intelligence, and the Knacks Death Defiance, Enhanced Impact, Fists of Stone, One-Man Army, Resilient, and Body of Bronze. He's more powerful than typical characters, but that can be done by raising the transformation points and pushing Adventure! to the extreme rather than using Aberrant but saying "You can't have the main thing in the game." That's like saying "We're going to play Shadowrun, but no one can have any cyberware" or "We're going to play D&D, but there won't be any magic-users or clerics."

My players are going to hate this new, nigh indestructible NPC. ::biggrin

LoL ::laugh in my abbie game I had many of the characters from The Tick and Earthworm Jim, including Taft and Evil The Cat! The pc's were being funded by The Geriatrics Society to help little old ladies cross the streets and take down anyone who messed with the elderly... Oh and anyone who was threatening the city, the elderly need their peace and quiet you see, they all got 3 resourse points out of it ::rolleyes .

i wasnt saying that u coudlnt have powers, i was just saying if a player wanted to they could choose to be a side kick or a rich dude with gadgets. i have never played adventure and i have no clue what u were saying... adventure! sounds cool, but i'm gonna stick with aberrant. i originally wanted to know how some of u would run a Tick style game, like in The City, or just normal, with everybody being a super hero, starting with 30 nova points.

i threw in the "u could be a side kick or bat man type guy" because i've been playing aberrant so long, i wouldnt mind playing a weeker character, like a baseline.

(i'd be a side kick, that was a talking squirrel, everyone love squirls...)

just as long as you're not conker...

or the ST doesn't sling in some hulk-type rotweiler (k... so I'm not sure how to spell that).

But I don't know much about the Tick (I have never seen it, being on regular terrestrial ::smiley4 ) but in terms of Earth Worm Jim, most characters would be baseline with some wonderful gadgets that enhanced their already amazing skills (or lifted them from inept to adept in such cases of EWJ [well, inept to inept disguised as adept]). But the villains would be a mixture of baseline with gadgets (Dr Collosus anyone? ::smile ), and supervillains (think the Croc vs Batman or something similar.) So Aberrant would be useful (although for just baselines, adventure does sound the better)
