Gideon
I have a new player ::biggrin , who wants to do a Human Torch type nova (so far everything is okay), but she stippulates she wants to be a form of living plasma when she uses Bodymorph. (Note, she is not very familiar with the system, just inspired by the Marvel hero Nova I think.)My problem/concern is that in the Players Guide under Elemental Mastery is the Technique for Plasma Conversion which transforms an element into plasma which leads me to think that Plasma is not a normally allowed element, if a 3rd level power is needed to use it for brief periods. Is this accurate? I don't want to deny her her concept, but I also want to be fair to the existing characters (None have gone the Bodymorph route, but we do have a budding Elemental Master of Earth and a Chemical Chemeleon in the group...)I have considered letting her form to be called "plasma" but not use the added effects listed in the A:PG and say that that is only available to the more powerful novas (it would then give her a clear goal to achieve Quantum 6!).... ::lookaround Though one advantage would be she would be more susceptable to magnetic forces... by default.Suggestions appreciated! ::bigsmile Secondly, just occured to me, [all of this assumes a max Quantum of 5] if you max Bodymorph to 5, does that mean you cannot develop the powers of your form further? so a fire form, gets Say Invulnerbility to Heat(Fire) 3, and Immolate (Fire) 2.So is FireBoy still completely solid fire? or is he insubstantial fire? Does he get the Energy-form benifits, and his paid for immunity to Heat and Immolate? And if this is so, can FireBoy buy Immolate outside of Bodymorph to "Pump-up" his Bodymorph only Immolate? ::blink Perhaps if he takes a limitation that his second Immolate only works when his Bodymorph power is active??Thoughts suggestions appreciated. ::thumbsup Jack
harlequin
i'd personally say give her the plasmal form with the weakness to magnetics... if it unbalances game in any way you can uses magnetics to bring it back in balance. if the character meshes well and doesn't upset power balances, then don't worry about the magnetic thing except for plot purposes... ::thumbsup
