Aberrant RPG - Bodymorph and the Mastery extra

I was wondering how other people would or have handled this.

Does the Mastery effects apply only to the Bodymorph statistics itself or do they carry over to the powers that the Bodymorph dots represent?

Lets say i made a character who could turn into light and had 5 dots of Bodymorph; 2 dots of Density Decrease, 2 dots of Quantum Bolt and 1 dot of Flight.

Would Mastery1 only double the effects of the power description, increasing the duration, lowering the quantum cost and doubling the effect of the difficulty to hit the character?

Or would Mastery1 also apply to the powers the dots represent as well; doubling the effects of Quantum Bolt, Density Decrease and Flight?

If so....DAMN!! ::shocked

Flight would be doubled. As would QB.

Density Decrease is a bit different. Remember that you are doubling the effects of the power, not the dots in the power and not the number of succ.

As I recall, DD2 lets you move through objects at a certain rate, so double that rate. It also halves physical damage, so double that, meaning that you take one quarter damage. (x2 Mastery would then do one tenth).

I would recommend using different rules when applying mastery to powers that increase at exponential rates (flight and warp mostly)

raising the power level of teleport with mastery would double the range, but simply buying an extra dot would increase it tenfold.

You might consider making mastery for these powers have additional benefits.

Personally I would say that Bodymorph (mastery 1) would have just *double* effectiveness...i.e. for 4 dots in it...you have 8 dots you can buy in a power at mastery 2...with 4 dots in the power...you would get 20 dots to distrubute.

Now I know this seems *uber*...but hey...once you get to this level you *are* uber. 6 quantum is as powerful as Anateaus...the 3rd most powerful nova in the world at this moment...Hell...8 quantum is as powerful as Divis Mal himself, why not let them have the power they have for some odd reason...

Flight doesn't increase geometically.

TK, Warp, & Q-Contruct increase geometically.

The rules get strange for Sizemorph (both of them), Poison, Density Increase/Decrease, and all of the resisted powers.

Personally I don't see the need for adjustment. Some powers do better with some enhancements.
