Trinity RPG - Old Trinity, new game engine

My local game store lets me rpg in the “back room” on the weekend, but only if I run games currently in print. Well, I ain’t converting Trinity to d20. : P

There is a new game, Savage Worlds, I plan to use. It is sort of a funky rpg/wargame hybrid. With that in mind, I am hoping that means I can slide my SW Trinity (“The Savage Trinity?”) from rpg mode to wargame mode without much effort.

Has anyone else converted Trinity to other game systems?

Unfortunately I've never converted systems so I can't help you.. (I usually just change games if I want a change of pace. Only conversion I did was Middle Earth to a WW system...Rolemaster sucks, too many tables.)

i've never converted any of the aeon games to another system (i'm a storyteller native) i'm usually converting the other direction, but i don't see why it can't be done. i wish i could be of a little more help, but all i can really say is good luck. ::thumbsup

Just take the Trinity background and make all the chars play Psionisists in the Cyberpunk setting (I think there is one out)

Good luck. I think that conversion is in the works on one of the SW sites already. It seems a lot of systems are being converted over. By the play-testers etc. I would still rather play Trinity. I bought the SW book already. What can I say I'm a pulp junkie. Time will tell for the SW game verse. I'm going to have to wait and see some of the settings books that will hopefully expand the verse. I want to see what it can do with supers. ::hehe

Converting Trinity to something else seems pretty gutsy, I find it easy to convert other things to storyteller system but not the other way around... All I can say is if you manage a successful conversion post it here so we can check it out. ::biggrin

I am already in contact with another SW/Trinity coverter. Funny enough, we are taking two completely different tracks.

He's doing a more foot loose version that takes its inspiration from the TPG's free-form rules.

I am taking a more Savage Worlds style conversion, which to take the generic powers from SW and giving them "psionic" trappings. I did tweak that towards Trinity by offer 7 different psionic skills instead of one generic "Psion" skill.

I am going to have to make the modes fluff, though.

Right now, I have to wait. The SW site (www.peginc.com) will have some scifi powers on their site next month. After that, I think I'll have the powers I need to make my Trinity coversion fly.

I admit that I was half expecting someone to flame me for daring to convert the sacred Trinity.

To tell the truth, if I could, I would love to buy Trinity off of White Wolf to 1.) bring back the game and 2.) start up a fiction line in the Trinity universe.

I wonder how much it would be for rights to Trinity? The entire AEon universe?
