If you havent seen it....imagining orgasming 50 times all in one second....then multiply that by 5....then put it to the 15th power

that is X2!!!

Ooh! Algebra! *whips out calculator*

2x=(50 x 5)^15

2x=931322574615478515625000000000000000

Hey he ain´t the only one. People near me went Ape-sh... when I .. No it really doesn´t belong here....... ::bigsmile

Fun aside: I still think she is the strongest character in the movie. Looking pretty good (even unchanged), and having the right lines.

" I heard you can change even your voice?"

# "Even the voice."

" Why don´t you do it all the time?"

# " Caus it shouldn´t be necessary."

Or something like this. (Remember I´m German and I´ve been watching the movie in German.)

Wow. At that moment I fell in love with her (like I love my Favorit RPG character.)

yeah, i'm not sure how it happened that the naked, sex symbol character with the fewest lines ended up consistantly being the strongest female in the movies. i'm still of the mind that storm is underplayed by halle berry. like, i know she CAN act, and that it shouldn't be hard for her to pull off storm, but in the end she seems so weak and timid compared to most of the other characters. to be fair, i thought all the female rolls were stronger in this one than the first, particularly jean, and this pleased me.

Yeah I agree... Storm is supposed to be this Goddess like figure with Goddess like confidence, but instead she's portrayed as angry and unsure... determined perhaps, but still uncertain of herself. In both movies she's been given the 'compassion' part - to mutated Senator Kelly in the first and now with XXXXXXX in X2. I don't know... I guess what she does do is pretty much required for the movie rather than her character... Or at least for the comic representation of her character - since the development of her movie character does follow quite nicely.

Mystique - yes... very nice. And we actually get to see what she really looks like - which is even better. I still don't understand how they can paint the most gorgeous woman in the movie blue... but that's another whole private rant. On the up side it wasn't just the blokes... I went to see X2 with my... ahem... borderline nymphomanic housemate and she was sighing all the way through the movie and going on and on about Wolverine... bloody hell... ::crazy

btw: the very revealing retort from Mystique to Nightcrawler's "Why don't you stay in disguise all the time... be like everybody else..." was "Because we shouldn't have to."

Rocking movie...

Okay, I just saw it. Who wants to start a new religion with me?

Seriously, I think Jean should've been more powerful. Man, the old Phoenix (her, not me) wouldn't have moved the Blackbird out of the way of the river - she would've moved the river.

The scene with Nightcrawler's attack on the President was awesome, and as for Mystique - Bahamut810, I take it all back.

Hee hee hee...

Kid: Can't sleep?

Wolverine: What makes you say that?

Kid: 'Cause you're awake.

Wolverine: ... good point.

If by XXXXXXX you mean Nightcrawler, yeah, I agree. I actually think that Mystique should've been given the"compassion" part (her advances on Wolvie notwithstanding); it would have been interesting to see the one of the "bad guys" in that role.

i think the point was that phoenix has/had not fully manifested yet. at least that was the impression i got.

Mystique has no compassion - she's all about the fight - which is fair enough considering she must feel more like an outsider than anyone else being able to be anyone - but almost never herself - which is blatantly what she's looking for - the only person who respects her for herself is Magneto.

But consider - she's a chopper pilot, an expert hacker and probably the best martial artist out of all of them... think she's trying to prove herself a bit possibly?

But she laughed at Rogue after Magneto taunted her. That was just plain nasty - especially against a fellow mutant.

You saw how messed up she is again with Wolverine in his tent... "who do you want me to be"...

sad...

Yep, that's the way it goes.. I only wish I had capitalized the "p". Oh well, at least I spelled it right..

As for Mystique, I realize that she is not Mrs. Compassion. I'm saying it would be interesting if she were.

I thought Gambit was going to be in this one, I was disappointed when he only had the briefest of cameos.

I also loved Deathstrike (if that's her name.. do I remember correctly, the girl with knives for fingers?).

And the original Phoenix didn't rise from any ashes that I know of..

when mystique is hacking strikers comp he's on the list of mutant names. (lebau, remy)

thing about mystique is, she could be compassionate with nightcrawler if they acknowledge the key detail that she's...his mom. i'm ok that they didn't bring that up, but it would have been neat, and maybe in the future sometime they'll touch on it.

i'm just blown away that they're even going to try pheonix. i mean, one of the two best stories x-men has ever told (according to fan acclaim, pheonix saga and then days of the future past respectively) and they're actually going to gun for it. ballsy move if you ask me.

also, did anyone else notice how pleasantly long it was? seriously, that meets even my action movie required length (any less that 1:20 and i feel jipped) . very nice all round.

Again I have to say that the movie was among the best " comics- made-movie" I ever saw.

Not even Daredevil or Spiderman can withstand X2. Phoenix is an all important member of the X-Men. To go the length of almost 2 movies without her popping up was a bit of a drawback. (Imagine how those goons looked when I started screaming: "Hey Phoenix can´t go down like that. She would stop that whole f...ing river if she had to!" Realy weird looks let me tell you. ::biggrin )

Oh I don't know. . .she did save the police officers from Pyro, so she's shown some use with her powers. . .

I entered the theatre on a self-imposed media blackout, and I have to say that X2 -rocked-! Too many cool parts to name, but Wolverine's handling of the soldier at the fridge, the Lady Deathstrike fight, Mystique as a (temporary) heroine. . .it was all cool. But the thing that pushed it over the top for me? *ahems*

COLOSSUS!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

::bigsmile

He's my favorite X-Man, and seeing him in the movie was just beyond awesome. Uberawesome. If they don't have him in the next movie it's criminal.

I just came back from seeing it, pretty good and definately the best of the recent comic book movies, what can I say I still like BATMAN none of the sequels though... Anyway since it looks like there's going to be another oh say 2 movies, by the look of it, we can expect more of our favorite characters to pop up like Gambit and Beast, both of who's names were on the screen but damnit I wanna see Omega Red, Sinister, Phabein Cortez, Juggernaught, the return of Sabre Tooth and so much more!!! Where are the super villains I say!!! Ok ok we have Magnus but I don't remember him being this murderous...

Hehehe loved the bit where Magneto pulls the metal from the guard and went on the rampage!!!

i didn't think rogue was useless, and beyond that she was the center of the first movie. it works well that she didn't do as much or wasn't as vital in my opinion.

was definately an awesome movie and i can't wait to see what they've got planned for the next...

I WANT MORE!!!!!!!!

oh, i'd say magnus is pretty murderous. x-men 1 he drowns an entire subs worth of people just so he can get at the nukes inside. the thing about magneto is that he's always supposed to be the righteous, wrath of god kind of murderous as opposed to some of the other villians that do it for fun.

Lol... yes - Rogue wasn't useless in the movie - but then she didn't do anything that Iceman couldn't have done if he wasn't acting useless... My point was that while her core power is very powerful in itself - applying it isn't very easy - as opposed to her comic-book powers which are monumental - just like Phoenix's, Xavier's and Storm's.

Actually I think the best thing about the X-Men series is Rebecca Romijn-Stamos... ahem.. I mean the best thing is that the ' Good guys' (the X-Men) and 'bad guys' (Magneto's bunch) don't really have a reason to actually kill each other - they use each other sure - but ultimately they're all in the same mutant boat.... Yarrr.

in short, yes...

in slightly longer short:

The government created a new breed of mutant-hunting Sentinels, and the androids abducted Jean and the other X-Men. Imprisoned in an orbiting space station, the team was forced to escape back to Earth in a space shuttle through a lethal solar-radiation storm. The pilot's cabin lacked sufficient shielding, but Jean insisted on flying the craft. Already succumbing to the agonizing effects of radiation poisoning, she was touched by the cosmic being known as the Phoenix Force. The entity created a body for itself that was identical to Jean's, duplicated her memories and personality, and absorbed a portion of her consciousness. It then guided the shuttle to a crash-landing in Jamaica Bay off New York City.

The Phoenix Force placed the real Jean in suspended animation within a cocoon-like pod resting on the bottom of the bay. The Phoenix Force eventually was corrupted by its own power, becoming a threat to all creation. But Jean's persona was dominant, and her psyche caused the entity to sacrifice itself to save the universe. Subsequently, the Avengers -- Earth's Mightiest Heroes -- discovered the pod and turned it over to elastic inventor Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four. Finally breaking through the cocoon's psi-damping, the real Jean released herself. Fully healed, she reunited with Scott and the original X-Men; together, they founded a new team, X-Factor. Later, the members of X-Factor rejoined the X-Men.

Great animation, plot, etc., but X-Men: Evolution had nothing to do with the books, except the extreme basics, and seemed to be based solely off the movie. Basically, if you like the comic books, it sucked big time, but it was an intriguing concept... ::smile Read: Some cool scenes, and a lot of great ideas, but they should have probably tried creating their own group of super-heroes...

Some cases in point: Rogue was only a power vampire without Mystique as her "mom", Nightcrawler as an irreverent German boy, Forge as a teen-ager stuck in time bubble, Wolverine knowing most of his past, Captain America as a cryogenically-preserved hero dying of cellular degeneration, Project: Rebirth (how Cap got his powers) harms humans/ helps mutants, and Mystique with the ability to change into animals.

Captain America. . .dying?! Blasphemy!! ::crazy I mean, I'm Canadian and I already know that Cap could open a whole case of whupass on just about anybody. Well, maybe not Batman. . .Batman can beat anybody, but still, Marvelwise? Cap's the man! Read the Ultimates if you don't believe me. He decks the Hulk and takes down Giant-Man!

As for X-Men Evolution, I bought the DVD after I saw X2 (my brother and I had a comic-book geek out night after seeing the flick ::tongue ). On the whole it's pretty good. The animation is cool and I liked how they tried to take the decades old melodrama of the X-Men and put a bit of a Buffy/Roswell/Smallville spin on it. Still, there were only 4 eps on the DVD and they weren't exactly in order so I can't comment on the series as a whole but what little I saw was okay.

Defender, are you kidding? Wolverine could beat the crap out of Captain America. He has samurai training, his mutant combat powers are the best in the business, he was designed by Weapon X to be the best fighting machine there is.

Captain America couldn't even come close. It would be like putting a mitoid (which is basically what Cap is) against the most elite combat nova ever (I realize that Wolverine isn't as tough as most combat novas but he's a lot tougher than the toughest of combat mutants or other Marvelites).

Phoenix my friend I must respectfully disagree. Logan may well be Weapon X, but Cap is the ultimate product of the US military. True he doesn't have a mutant healing factor, but the super-soldier serum has made him the physical peak of humanity. He's skilled in a variety of forms of hand to hand combat and has one component to his make up that Wolverine just doesn't have: strategy. Cap also has a shield that's easily as indestructible as those adamantium claws and has the level head to put his body and weapon to the best use. Wolverine--while physically very impressive--is just too easily goaded into berserker fury. Cap could find that particular pressure point and use it against him, or better yet find lots of fun ways to put those metal blades and bones to the test (a rather powerful magnet, or luring wolvie into a trap involving electricity. . .). Of course, if you're referring to Captain Whitebread Cap they use in the non-Ultimate Marvel, then sure. The Ultimates Cap is my main hero right now, and he's just ruthless enough to give Wolverine a serious run for his money. ::biggrin

Bah I saw the good cartoons adamantium isn't magnetic, btw the cap was made of WW2 tech, weapon X was at least 25 years later and sure the Capt. has a shield, Wolverine has 2 sets of claws... And anyone beating the Hulk was cheating! or had writter's favour imparted on them!
