Archer21
Is is just me, or is it a bit ridiculous that you have to have buy an equal level of Quantum in order to have a Mega Attribute at a certain level? Perhaps I'm just looking at the rules wrong?
Ayre el KaBeer
Equal level minus 1 ie. mega strength 5 requires quantum 4... if you read the description of all mega attributes it defines them as common "powers" shared by novas just think of mega att's at high levels as a level 3 power, you'll sleep better at night. Alex Green
The higher level mega-attributes basically are powers. With one level, yes, the extras tend to domainate. But 5 levels of a mega-attributes is pretty crazy all by itself.
Reighnhell
Trust me, A character in my game has 5 Mega-Dx...Mega's matter alot, and often times I think the pre-requisites are too lenient.
Ayre el KaBeer
Mega's matter alot, and often times I think the pre-requisites are too lenient.I think the prerequistits make the character more deadly, they get more dice roll and a higher Quantum rating. The Nova and freebie point sacrifice in meeting these prerequisites is by far the cheaper alternative than to do it the hard way and building up the experience points, remember Quantum is current rating x8 and attributes are cr x4. Archer21
Ahhh...so, in order to have Mega-Stamina 5, I need Quantum 4 and Stamina 5, right?I'm still fairly new to the game and I haven't gotten all the rules figured out yet, so I 'm trying to build a variety of example characters so I can understand what's needed and how my players could tweak things. So far, I've built the all-around(Maxed Att, tons of Abilities) nova, the Mega-Stamina "Tank" nova, and the Uber-Quantum Bolt nova.Any tips for a future Storyteller? Ayre el KaBeer
Yeah look out for the mega stam 5 nova with force field 1, be very afraid!
phoenix
Okay, how would one describe a character with Strength 1 and Mega-Strength 1? Seems strange that the normal strength would only matter if the guy fought with another Mega-Strong nova.

He could be a rail thin dude or even a baby! ::blink Strength is the odd man out do to all those auto successes. Just compare Str 1/M-Str 1 vs. Str 5. For anthing that matters, it would take a miracle for the number of successes by the Str 5 guy to *equal* the mega-strong guy. And it isn't true that only normal strength would matter if two mega-strong novas fight. Only normal strength would matter if two novas of equal mega-strength ended up doing a strength vs. strength test. If they just hit each other, they both still get all those auto successes.
