Trinity RPG - First Post: Book of Aliens?

Well, here it goes. My first post on EON. I've been meaning to join for some time, and I'm glad I have. Whee!

Anyway, what I was wanting to post about. I noticed that the nifty folkses here at EON have posted guidelines for writing e-books. One of the books I always wanted to see was the Big Book of Aliens. And I got to thinking, "Y'know, I could do something like that!" ::biggrin

I think one of the things I'd include would be an expanded writeup on the Chromatics post-invasion. I'd have a cultural writeup, a summary of ongoing diplomatic efforts, a planetary survey of Chrome Prime, maybe a 'day in the life' section.

I'll also do a writeup of Qin, from a player's perspective. I think it'd be really neat to have character creation rules for these fellows, particularly after the shakeup of things at the end of Symbiosis.

I think I'd also like to do a writeup of the surviving Erebans, particularly in light of the Trinity-coordinated relocation effort on China's behalf, described in Asia Ascendant. We really don't get a whole lot of information on the Erebans in Alien Encounter, save the fact that they're a primitive culture brutalized by the Coalition.

Beyond that, I'm open to ideas. I know I'll be including the world of Gaia, a creation of my own. It began as an experiment to see how well I could merge fantasy with sci-fi. It worked out famously. So, there'll be an entry for elves, dwarves, orcs, and Beast Tribefolk. Call it silly if you will--my players keep on begging me to run the Gaia storyline, even months later. That never happens anymore, not since we ran through Darkness Revealed and Alien Encounter. ::smiley1

Naturally, each section will include rules for playing a member of one of these species. What do you all think?

I'd love it! Just what my players want, more toys for the ST! BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

BTW, re: The Erebans:

We've relocated them to the UAN. Roughly 100 sq mi were bought in their name, and they were let loose there. Given that it sounded like the planet had been destroyed, we thought it best to put them in a location resembling their native savannah, and Africa just sounded right...The tribe (of about 300) is doing well at last report;-)

Maybe you should just adapt the Aeon rules to a fantasy setting of your own creation, then ::thumbsup

One suggestion: Gaia is either a product of Terran mythology or a true goddess (in a storyline, that is). If the planet is named after a goddess that also appears on Earth, that would insinuate that Gaia is an actual goddess (and also not limited to the Earth specifically, but rather all life-bearing planets). The point is that if you're not actually including magic, but trying to use evolution and psi (and/or possibly quantum) to mimic its effects, then you might want to change the name.

Sounds very cool, though. I'd sure like to see it! ::smile

Hey, why not? The whole Trinity universe seems to be moving back in time anyway...

Trinity, Abberant, Adventure, fantasy game...

(then classical game, caveman game, monkey game...) ::hehe

Ahem, sorry. Silly attack. ::blush

All right...So I guess a more interesting question is:

What alien races have you created that you use (with any regularity) in your Trinity games? Obviously, I use the Greks and Erebans, but what do the rest of you use? (And, please, include a quick write-up, maybe a few paragraphs.)

Heh. I forgot about those. Didn't know where I was going with them. I figured to throw something odd at you and play off whatever you did. (Par normal, yeh? ::tongue )

Though in retrospect, I have a hard time distinguishing them from the piggies in the Ender series of books.
