operations
Indeed it is out. While White Wolf may have forsaken us, Baugh has not. Is very crunchy good stuff.
ezekiel
Btw, if you feel so inclined (remembering this is unofficial and that Bruce et al. can't charge money for the book) you can always donate by paypal at:bbaugh@mac.comI'm gonna try to figure out how to use paypal for a non ebay purchase...I encourage everyone to do the same if only to point out to WW that giving up the Trinity line was a mistake (and encourage Bruce & others to include artwork or even print some of their stuff..or produce some Adventure! books!!!) Mr. Mo
Don't use paypal. Any other ideas?I started reading the book this morning - wow!The metaplot stuff is quite "revolutionary" for the trinity setting (as I haven't read Terra Verde, I wasn't prepared for anything like this). Ayre el KaBeer
Wow! is right, I tip my hat to Baugh and the rest they did a great job considdering they did it in their free time as i understand it. Still i would have loved to have seen AsAs come to print, i could only imagine what the art would have been like and it's always nice to add another book to the collection on the shelf! Aeon
Just had a "flick through" so to speak. It looks polished in the normal Bruce Baugh type of way. Shame that there is no artwork in the book, and that it is just simple text. But some interesting revelations in there all the same.I still can't believe they canned the line, but by the looks of things, they may do the same to Exalted. I reckon that Swords and Sorcery is a far more viable line than any non-WoD games that WW can hope to produce. The Warcraft 3 game is a coup indeed (despite my loathing of D20 - I am considering buying it.)
ezekiel
Nope, paypal as far as I know is the only way to send money to Bruce short of mailing him a check (which would imply his giving out his home address to weird fans all over the world...I don't think it'll happen...) If you've got a credit card I suggest getting a paypal account if only to give yourself access to ebay...I actually did all my holiday shopping online this year. More choice, cheaper, more convenient and they sell new stuff on ebay despite the "auction" aspect of it.purchase example: My father sails...I bought him GPS compatible software compiling all East Coast NOAA charts (marine navigational charts...) for 50US$...that's more than half retail price for a new product (shipped in box) which I wouldn't have found in the shops here anyway!anyway...it'd allow you to encourage poor writers do what they do best as well...As for the dead line bit...the line isn't dead as long as ebooks keep churning out. I'm still waiting with anticipation for India Underground.
Ayre el KaBeer
I was, just reading through the section on Bue and was suprised that her opinions on the other proxies weren't in there (if they were i didn't see them ::blink ), just something i noticed (or didn't). Aninemity
paypal works if you don't have a credit card too. you can use your bank account for money transfers as well. fairly easy to set up and figure out and i've never had any problems with it. i've still only had the time to sit and do a preliminary flip through, so i haven't quite read it all yet. Ian Watson
I still can't believe they canned the line, but by the looks of things, they may do the same to Exalted. I reckon that Swords and Sorcery is a far more viable line than any non-WoD games that WW can hope to produce. The Warcraft 3 game is a coup indeed (despite my loathing of D20 - I am considering buying it.) Well, White Wolf cancelled it because it wasn't making any money anymore. I wish they hadn't, but I'm not terribly surprised, nor do I blame them.Cancel Exalted? Where'd you get an idea like that? Exalted's their fastest-selling game since Vampire. Twice a year they put out a new hardcover for it. I think it's going to do just fine.In any case, there are still many of us ready and willing to continue pumping out Aeon Continuum products indefinitely. Mr. Mo
::bigsmile almost through. One part seriously sucked though: "What Outsiders Already Know", Chapter 4, second page:"When visting Asia, outsiders typically expect to find all the grandeur, wealth, and dreams that many 21st century Europeans now associate with the United States."WHAT??! Like, when I tell any of my RPG-friends that the US turned fascist in Trinity, they go "aren't they already?" (I know this is cynicism)We Europeans associate grandeur, wealth and dreams with the US of today ??!Come on Bruce, James, John, you should know better than that.Topic change: Mental LandscapesIsn't that exactly like in the movie "The Cell"? But it's cool! (A bit like the holodeck idea in star treck - letting you explore fantastic settings right around the corner)
harlequin
::biggrin i have to agree with you there about how you guys see us. on the other hand, america is becoming more of a police state everyday. i won't go into rant mode here, but i have considered emmigrating more than once. ::confused
Ayre el KaBeer
Come on Bruce, James, John, you should know better than that.::unsure Maybe they mean AEON 21st century, the Aberrant books suggests that they were pretty good times for the US despite the rampant paranoia. ::lookaround
Pythagore
You don't think you could get Bruce to post Asia Ascendant on this page? If he would like the idea, maybe the people here could do the layout and the artwork? We did a pretty nice work on "Noetic Science", I think. ::bigsmile
Ayre el KaBeer
That's a great idea! But will rely on Baugh agreeing and on people here volunteering to do it, still it's worth a shot. What do you say CHILL another project to the already big list? ::biggrin
CHILL
Heya, I understand the sentiments, however....Hockay, AsAs will not be posted on EON. A bit of an explanation why. first and foremost, I'm avoiding things like canonical material being posted on EON - a tack I've always taken, please see the new e-book guidelines posted on the site this week. Secondly, it already has a home of course As for a layout, there are a couple of excellent pdf's already done on Bruce's site that you can go and download. (I mean, its free, how cool is the guy - go donate cash!).Just' so's people aren't somewhat surprised in the relatively near future (after reading this post), I will say this however. I am involved in a personal project to do a colour layout of AsAs , for Bruce to host on his site. This is for personal interest only, and two other people who I know well are involved - this is something I'm keeping completely seperate from EON, again for reasons I've mentioned above. So, just to round up, this isn't something I'll be doing on here. Now, if you want to get writing and drawing for e-books, we have plenty on the go!, give harlequin a shout, and she'll put you in touch with the various project developers. We'd love to have you onboard

harlequin
yep, if anyone wants to get onto an e-book contact me and i'll put in touch with the developer. i can't guarentee that you'll get on the project, but it's worth a shot. ultimatily it's up to the dev about how many people they need, etc. i'm also the person to talk to about starting new projects. feel free to pm me or get me on my staff email, harlequin@chill.uk.net ::biggrin
ezekiel
Btw, any news on when we can expect India Underground? Is the project still alive and kicking?
harlequin
it's almost completely written, a few pieces are missing here and there and the rest is being edited. in short i have no idea how long that will take as that everyone on the team is doing this on their spare time with very busy lives. but yes, it is moving and kicking. ::smile
