Petitioning White Wolf

Do you guys and gals think petitioning white wolf would help the aeonverse out? I'm really p***ed that they seem to have forgotten that there is a huge fanbase for the games and have just thrown it on the backburner, possibly because they forgot where they misplaced the garbage bin rather than to keep the series alive.

unfortunately, i don't think it will. the way i understand things it's more about the money than the fans for white wolf. they can make more money off of any of their other lines than on the aeon line and so it was dropped.

a shame really, but at least we'll be making some fan books to help fill that void.

Well, AsAs will come out in some form or another, Bruce has mentioned that in forums last month. Perhaps you should contact him and offer your help? Show the finished Noetics book?  ;)

I'm still highlighting typos, by tuesday I should be able to send you (to Chill I guess..) the version with my comments on it.

heh, interesting idea, but if anyone will be putting out AsAs, it'd be White Wolf.  We stay away from 'official property' where fanfic books are concerned to be honest.

As for Noetics, any edits you have we'd love to receive, can you post them in the feedback and comments thread for Noetics?

Many thanks  ::thumbs-up

The best way to convince a company to do something is to help them out. The goal of any company is to make money.(even though most of them say that their main goal is customer service or something, they're lying, they are in it for the money)

I would suggest that they offer to produce asas if they can get x number of people to pre-order it. If they can get enough people to pre-order it, they produce it. If not, the money is refunded.

This, in my opinion, is a better way to convince WW of Trinity's viability than a petition. Not only does it demonstrate that there is a huge fan-base for Trinity, it shows that we are willing to back our claims up.

I don't even like Trinity all that much (Abberant is so much cooler), but I would be willing to pre-order asas if it meant that the Abberant line might be revitalized as a consequence.

As far as AsAs goes I'd be willing to preoder also, however like many others i don't have access to a credit card and i doubt white wolf'd be willing to take money orders from aus.

i believe that was one of the major complaints when terra verda came out as an ebook only.

i have a friend with a similiar problem. they just give me cash and i put it on my card for him when it comes up.

either way, a petition might be a worthy try, sry if i'm a bit pessimistic but hey, it might work...  ::thumbs-up

unfortunately the aeon games have gone the way of changeling.... maybe a new book a year.... and probably not a very useful one... changeling doesnt make them much money, but i love the game, its right up there on top of my fav list of games... same with alot of people, but that wont make white wolf give more money to arthaus to publish more... hell i've been waiting for "The Book Of Glamour" for a long long time.. but i dont think its ever coming out... unless they do it as an ebook

oh, and i will be running all whie wolf products at the next con here in huntsville (Constellation)... the guy overseeing the games this year says hes going to talk to white wolf about getting some support... maybe we can get something... and maybe, just maybe they'll realize that the products are good

im running Adventure!, Changeling, Vampire, and Scarred Lands (their d20 3rd edition D&D campaign setting)

I hate to be the rain on the parade here, but where is this "huge fanbase" that supports these games?  EON is one of the best Adventure!-Aberrant-Trinity websites that I know of (and the only dedicated forum that I know of outside of whatever White Wolf runs on their site), and there are fewer than 300 registered members here, according to the figure at the bottom of the page.  Aside from my own group of six Adventure! players, I don't know anyone who plays any of the Aeon games, and I know a lot of gamers.

I guess I'm not upset to see the end of the Adventure! line.  I'd hate to see White Wolf wreck it by overdeveloping it like they've overdeveloped their other games.  I really don't have any desire at all to see a bunch of books that define every aspect of the world, like a set of splatbooks for daredevils, mesmerists, and stalwarts, or the Storyteller's Guide to the Æon Society, a Player's Guide to the Æon Society, and series of Adventure!: (fill in the city name) books.  I'd rather make up that stuff myself.

well you obviously are meaning other vampire books...

there obviously isnt a reason to do a ST book for any of the aeon continuum... why?...  cuz the books hold all the secrets.., and what they dont have, the genre the games were based on, do.

im sure i can speak for alot of people when i say this: we are not asking for overdevelopment, or even developing areas we hadnt thought of, we are asking for a little support...

I'd be more than happy if they released the books that were promised in the back of the trinity rule book. If they're not going to release them in paperback then release them in ebook. At least then it'd be a matter of time before those of us without credit cards could get them at a later date, when we, or someone we know get (or lets us use) a card. And I still don't understand why they don't post the books in the out of print list as ebooks. It seems stupid especially in the case of AuAu where there are people still looking for copies of it (before anyone suggests ebay please considder shipping fees).

And prophet118 as far as changeling goes I agree, though i've never played it, it's a cool game that deserves more recognition.

i for one think the ebooks would be a great idea... but honestly, i dont think they are putting much into it...

basically because they are seemingly only releasing things you couldnt get...

granted thats the idea... i think they released a few kithbooks that way for changeling... firstly i dont think they will relrease a main rule book that way... and secondly... im not sure what they are thinking...lol none of the ebook releases thus far has made me wanna shell out the money for a book i couldnt print anyway (my printers on the fritz... it prints black pages...lol)

i have played alot of white wolf games.. granted i have mainly only played the WOD games, but i enjoy changeling, because you dont have to be faced with the bleak reality that life sucks...lol

as a changeling you always see things different than others... and in a goth punk universe.... well it gets tiring when you are having to describe gritty hardcore stuff to teenagers... its much more fun to bring them into the full dreaming...

course D&D fans would probably love changeling... its about the only real modern fantasy game i have seen (and d20 modern does not count...lol)

I read the intro to tera vede at a friends house (he pilferred it from kazaa) if that's anything to go by, I wanted the book then and there but i didn't succumb to temptation and grab it off him, i'm determined to get it as soon as i can get my hands on a card. I think it's necessary for people to actually bye stuff otherwise white wolf won't shell out for the production of new books. As far as tera verde goes, according to this friend (who is a fairly good judge of books), is great and definately worth getting; "even if I had to pay for it" he said. #######!  ::smiley6

I had another great idea.

Not only can WW offer the pre-order thing, If it works out and enough people want to buy, then they sell the book. If not, everyone gets their money back AND 10% off the core book for whatever new line they want to promote.

This way, they can snag the devoted fans into a new product line. I mean, really, if you could pick any group of gamers to introduce to a new product line, it would be the ones who are so into games that they would be willing to offer some money on a pre order.

Man I have a gift for marketing, I could make a fortune...

What like Demon?  :D

I think there's a sort of vicious circle thing. They cut costs and produce poor/too specialized books so no one buys them. Then they claim no one is supporting the line, step down production and end up producing poorer books...

'Tis all a shame!

In the corporate world, no idea is ever dead if it still makes money. All that can be done by us is to buy more books, write letters of support for Trinity to WW, and convert the RPG heathens to Trinity.

I wonder if this kind of conversation is how the crusades started... Let's reclaim the holy land of Trinity from the "Demon the Fallen-ites" CHAAAARRRGGGE.

visualizes self running into a gaming convention, toppling the "car wars" table and screaming "for the glory of Aeon" into the air... then two beautiful women in revealing clothing walking up next to me and echoing "for the beauty of Aeon" and "for the power of Aeon"... THEN all the people I hated from high school entrapped in giant hamster balls... And then... Oh wait, it seems my imagination has gotten away from me again. Sorry.
