Trinity RPG - I need a LOT of help

What up kids.  I am pretty new to the whole RPG thing and I am going to start my own game of Trinity if it kills me. Basically here is the rundown of the things that I have to work with.  #1 I have two players that I am sure will play that have much more experience playing table top RPGs than I do(the only real playing that I have done was when I was a youngster coming up going through the monsterous manual and fighting it in alphabetical order -why does beholder start with 'B' why!!!).  # 2 I want to play trinity or aberrant but probably I will play trinity just 'cause I want to do the sci fi thing more than superheroes and I like the storyline more than any other sci fi game I have seen (no warhammer 40k doesn't have a real storyline) so I can at least write some stories if I don't use the books for anything else. now what I need are some reall general tips on creating a viable game that doesnt rely on fighting every day and maybe a general walkthrough on STing. well If anyone wants to help out I would really appreciate it. later and thanks in advance.

ProgHead:

I have run a lot of different games over the 15 odd years I've been roleplaying, and have ST'd Trinity (Aeon) since it came out.  I also have several die-hard Aeon Continuum fans (including an Aberrant ST) in my RPG group.

......... so feel free to ask any and all questions - there are also a lot of other experienced Trinity players and ST's on these foprums - so I'm sure we would all be more than happy to help :)

Do you have any idea about a story yet?  Does anyone in your group understand the basic idea of Trinity and the game mechanics?

Thought I'd get the important questions out of the way first

:D

Well to be honest with you, both of the players that are most likely going to play have played ST games a whole lot, one is a werewolf larper(I really expect him to play a legionaire) and one played and ran a whole lot of vampire back in the day.  I want to run a game a whole lot but I really don't know where to start at, I have a lot of little ideas, but I really am worried that they will not be that great, one idea is to run like a spy game in Aberrant or trinity, another is to try and run like a bug hunter game in trinity, but i really don't have much to work with there any help is much appriciated,  I gotta bounce back to work now, but I will continue to post more when I get there. btw this site is really amazing keep up the good work :Thumbs Up

Glad you like the site - check out the 'Project 6' category of these forums for information about a major relaunch coming this month...

Anyways, I'll switch off the shamless promotion for a second.

What you need to do is perhaps talk to your players - get an idea of what sort of sci-fi or 'superpowered' game they would like toplay.  It will only work if you have an idea of what their expectations might be.....  From there you could come up with story ideas quite easliy (or we could help you)...

Beware the Werewolf player in Trinity - they may just plumb for the Norca and not the Legionairre :)

I had one story Idea that I was trying to flesh out, bear with me I am a little toasted right now, I was going to have my pcs meet up with someone that wanted them to escort them to the north american heartland where that aberrant(sorry I cant remember his name right now) exploded. my real idea is that the individual works for the north american government and needs to get some of the soil to see if he can develop nova drugs (mite, red 7, soma etc..)to sell to give North America a form of financial stability.  I think that by the time that the pcs figure out what the individual is doing it could create a moral dillema and maybe a philisophical one as well, (the whole helping the drug trade to help finance people's well being, much like the drug war in the US today ex: law enforcement has said they have lost but it generates revenue and jobs, so they continue on fighting a losing battle.) some ideas to flesh it out would be much appreciated as always. later.
