Background:

The son of a wealthy SVP of Blockbuster, David had always been instilled by his father with a sense of deal-cutting and business attitude. James had worked his way up from lesser management to the high spot on the rung, and had little tolerance for foolish behavior.

On the other hand, the young man that was his son had a well-developed sense of outrageous fun as well and hard work. The combination of the two led to antics that the family did not want to be heard about by others, particularly James' boss, colleagues and immediate inferiors.

Eventually, despite rather one-sided arguments, since James would lecture and David feign attention, David pulled a major stunt involving several girls, some of college age, alcohol, whipped cream, the invitation of David's closest friends, a camera and the Internet.

The family, it was said, blew a simultaneous gasket the next morning when they were forwarded to Youtube.

Thus they shipped David off to UW- Tacoma as a punishment, but while David earned good marks in Business School, he's building a reputation among the student body. And the girls too, which is useful.

The parties, pranks and ability to get someone else to take the fall for the consequences are very much part of David's reputation, and he wears his charm as a everyday garment.
