Cam nodded, "Yeah, it's a place were we can stretch out and relax. Of course we can't do it in sight of the Army Corps guys, but as long as we are out of their hearing and vision we can do what we want. The engineer types that are there right now are not in the know about us so we keep it that way."

Kyria murmured mostly to herself, "The Tok'ra don't use sarcophogi. It makes you crazy. Huh. Wonder what it would do to a nova....?"

She glanced up at Cam and then at the others, shrugging a grateful for a chance to get away from the mountain for a while. "Sure. When do we leave?"

Gwyn nods at Cam, then grins at the others around the table, "Time enough for another coffee and doughnut then. Anybody else want anything while I'm up?"

He took the orders of anyone who wanted something and was soon back at the table.

As he sits back down he comments to Dec, "There are some nicely forested areas near the new base Dec, so you should be able to have a good run out of the sight of the engineers. Hell if you want to, and we get time, I don't mind getting pasted sparring with you."

Yseult accepted the black coffee from Gwyn with a murmur of thanks and a smile, then sighed. Being a member of a field team consisted of entirely too much training and missions to here and to there. She would have preferred conducting research in her lab... mostly, she thought with a frown. This Library of Ra, I very much wish to see it.

Besides, Cameron obviously had another reason to gather some of the specialists at the beta site, other than simply as an escort for Generals Landry and O'Neill. It would also distract her from obsessing over the status of her being reunited with her family or worrying about the ramifications of the abilities the specialists were developing.

Yseult settled in her chair, coffee in hand, keeping silent company with the others until she had to collect her minimal gear for the trip through the stargate.

Aradia declined the offer of food politely, having just brought her own over. She settled in at the table and began eating, listening to the others talk.

"So we're going to the Beta site just to hang out, and let Dec stretch his legs? That's pretty cool, I guess."

Having missed most of the rest of the conversation, she didn't realize that there might be more to the visit than what had been stated, and was looking forward to the opportunity to stretch her own legs a bit.

Cam chuckled, "It's a bit more than that. Officially we're doing escort duty for the two Generals, but I'm sure we can work in a little time for the Sgt. to stretch his legs."

He looked to Dec, "By the way, while you were out General O'Neill got a promotion, he's now in charge of the entire Homeworld Defense, that means he's General Landry's CO and also the CO for our space fleet such as it is. General Landry is a good sort but a bit more by the book than O'Neill, he's the new CO for the SGC."

Gwyn finishes his last doughnut before commenting to Dec, "I don't know if you would be interested or not Dec, but Cam here arranged for some of us to get some regular lessons flying the new 302's over at the Alpha site."

He looks around the table, "Actually would any of you ladies be interested in joining that? We also use the oppurtunity for those of us who can fly ourselves to get some practise. Might be useful for Olivia to try it out, and I'm sure Ari can use some flying forms. I can't remember if you said you could fly with your telepkinesis or not Yseult?"

Gwyn smiles at the beautiful doctor, "Well, with practise you could probably work out a way to speed up, I know that worked for me. Regardless of that, if you wished, I'd happily take you up so that you can feel what the extra speed would be like."

Dec nodded as Cam and the others filled him on on the Beta Site and the new change in SGC's command. He grinned faintly at Gwyn's proposal for a sparring match, something other than shyness showing through for a moment.

"It'd be good to spar with someone my own level..." he paused significantly, the grin becoming equal parts humor and wolfish challenge. "But you'll do until they come along." He winked at Jones over his shades and chuckled, shaking his head. "Just razzing ya. It'll be good to get out in the field again." He looked over at Cam.

"So... Gate room in 90 minutes, Colonel?" He scarfed down the last of his breakfast and nodded to the others. "I'm going to shower and prep, then. See y'all there." He rose and headed for the door, plainly eager to be in action again, even if it was only a milk run.

As he left the canteen, he pondered the hidden meaning in Cam's words.

*Maybe not a milk-run...*

*Even fuckin' better!*

Gwyn grins back at Dec, "Yeah, I'm just a placeholder. Now your back I can go back to being the scientist/engineer of the team rather than a squaddie."

He waved Dec off, and turned to the others, "Well I'll feel safer the next time we are out in the field with Dec back. In the meantime, I've got some stuff to work on before we head through the Gate."

So saying he finishes his coffee and heads out the door towards his lab and some Ancient translations recently unearthed by Daniel in the hope they would help him understand an Ancient device that had been found nearby.
