True to his word, they were going out to eat only a few days later. Connor wore his Eufiber as a fairly nice grey and black ensemble. He made his way through the Skies over Seattle until he came to the Avalon Apartments complex, a futuristic building that was only recently finished.

He landed at the entrance and made his way within, inputing the apartment code and buzzing her room. "Aurora it's Connor I'm here to pick you up."

Many folks, when going on a date, would be concerned about what they were wearing, or how they looked, or even their hair style. For Aurora, she had some of those concerns, but they were different in a number of ways. She showered and cleaned up about an hour before Conner arrived, and was looking the mirror, trying out various styles for her outfit when he rang her apparent. Considering the matter a moment more, she made up her mind, smiling slightly, deciding to configure to a style that she had seen and liked, she teleported directly down to the entrance, wanting to see if he liked it.

Conner smiles, refraining from whisting as Aurora shows up in a dress that immediately made him feel as though he wasn't wearing formal enough clothing. "You look Amazing Aurora, simply breathtaking." His smile widened abit. "I guartantee the crowds will be watching you tonight and not me."

He nodded. "I got the script from Zack too. So that will give us something else to talk about."

She smiled at him, pleased to have gotten a reaction from him, and she paused slightly, almost uncertain, as she hadn't really gone on that many dates before. A moment or two and she made up her mind, reaching out to take his hand, and waiting for him to escort her wherever he chose tonight. "I think you underestimate your impact, as a famous movie star, they may look at me, but they will be watching you. I'll make you a bet, tomorrow, when the newpapers report your activities, I'll referenced as girlfriend, or date, before they use my name."

"I don't know I think the'll refer to you as Seattle's own public Defender. What woud you like to make the stakes in this wager?" His yellow eyes had a mischeivous gleam to them as he led her to a waiting limo. After helping her in he smiled and climbed in. The driver already knew where to go, Connor having arranged that ahead of time. Soon they'd arrived at Mamma Melina Ristorante, one of the better Italian restaurants in Seattle.

H got out and helped her out, drawing looks from several of the passerby. He came to the door and nodded to the attendant arranging seating. "Fontenot, party of two, in non-smoking." The attendants eyes widened as recognition flooded her face as she beheld Connor and Aurora. He smiled calmly. "We're just out for a nice evening, please don't call everyone. We're just regular customers tonight."

She nodded and quickly called for assistance, the manager on duty arriving and realizing who was there. After short introductions he lead them to a table in one of the semi private VIP rooms, despite Connor's protests. "If there is anything we can do for you don't hesitate to ask. I'll have bread and drinks brought to you immediately." He set their menus down and smiled. "Tonight we have a live Pianist, do you have any requests for him tonight?"

She considered a moment, as he asked the stakes, then she shrugged. "Pick something, I'm up for just about any stakes, you decide." She was curious as to what he might chose, after all she was certain she could deal with whatever he might come up with, regardless of what it might be.

"Something classical and romantic, preferably." She sat across from Conner, it had been a while sense she'd been out to dinner. Sense she didn't need to eat, this was a indulgence, nothing more, really.

"Conner here is ordering for both of us." She winked at Conner, as she didn't mind whatever he might chose

The Manager smiled. "I beleive that can certainly be arranged." True to his word bread and water were brought to them, as were the menus. Things were reasonable here, but considering the amount he could put away, it likely wouldn't be a cheap night.

"I know, we'll play an old game, something to get to know each other abit better. If it goes my way we'll play truth or dare. if it goes your way we'll play a game of your choice."

He nodded once. It wasn't a totally overt play, but it would accomplish what he really wanted, getting to know her better.

He smiled and started looking at the menu, making note of several dishes as he waited for her reply.

She considered the stakes he offered, then she added to it. "Let's up the stakes a bit, the game lasts for an entire week." And right now, if she was honest with herself, which she was trying to be, she thought she found his idea for a game more interesting then anything she might come up with. She couldn't help but hope that she lost, and that wasn't something she thought all that often.

She inclined her head to one side as the musician began to play, wondering if he would manage to play to her standards, or for that matter, to Connor's.

Connor smiled. "Fair enough. You can pick whatever you want and we'll play for a week if you win."

When the piano began he smiled, it wasn't a song he new but it had a nice melody to it and it was relaxing. When the waiter arrived he ordered.

"We'll have an order of Piatto Di Salumi, for the main course, The lady will have Pollo Parmigiana and I'll have an order of Scampi alla Griglia. afterwards we'll take a look at the deserts. For drinks we'd like a pitcher of sweet iced tea." The waiter nods at te selections and leaves them to themselves. Though through the door as he left connor could hear and see the people outside gathering to see the room's occupants.

"There's honestly no place I can go where I'm not recognized and draw a crowd, no matter what i do."

She considered that for a long moment, then she smiled, as a thought came to her. "Well, sometime you'll have to take me somewhere private, next time then." Then she winked at him. "Or you can shapeshift to some appearance no one will recognize."

She settled into her seat a bit more, leaning forward to watch him, as the waiter left. She would be interested in trying those selections he had ordered. "So, you were going to talk about the movie script? Or did you have some other discussion in mind?"

Connor smiled. "We can talk about that sure."

"The general idea is that humanity has finally moved beyond the star system. It will be set on a world called New Terra. Everything is going great for humanity thanks to the new quantum drive powersource fueling the ships. It's allowed for humanity to tap into much of its latent potential, though not everyone is to the same extent.

This has created a heirarchal society with those with the most power being Designated Alphas, those at the lower end being classified Epsilons, and beneath them the people whom interaction with a quantum drive does nothing. This premises allows for a varried nova cast with varried abilities."

In our expansion and wanderlust, we run afoul of an Alien race known as the Shikar, who in turn decide they need to stop humanity from expanding its influence.

They decimate the colonies as they search out humanity's homeworld. On New Terra however Humanity has been developing a new weapon, a giant robot to fight the alien walker mechs and starships. Which is pretty much wht my part in the movie is. I'm the badguys and the mech."

The heroes are it's pilots, none of them the same classification. because each one is a different class it has what's called a synchro quantum drive, allowing it to geometrically advance its power when the five pilots work together."

In the end the heroes defend New Terra and throwback the Shikar enough to halt their advance, for now."

He sighs. "That's the short overview. The way I hear, Darren's the Male lead again, Ayato the second you at 3 and Hazuki and Minazuki as 4 and 5. If I have a part other than the mechs I'll end up as which ever Shikar is seen speaking."

She listened closely to his explaination, it sounded like a rather interesting movie that he had in mind. "Interesting, what are the Shikar suppose to look like? And what sort of part did you want me to play then?" She looked up as the appitizer was brought in and began to try some of if as she waited for him to respond. "Also, I should mention.. I can play several female parts, if needed." She shifted her features until she looked like a five foot oriental woman, then shifted them back. "I can change just about any basic feature of my appearance."

Connor smiled at her display. "That's very good. I don't know what they'll want you to play, honestly, Hazuki is a Blonde though I know she spoke of changing her hair color for the next one and Mina's a redhead. Ayato is the only one who truly looks Asian. We'll see what they want when things get started. Basically You'll be cast as the Female lead, It was mentioned that your character may be captured by the Shikar and interrogated, thus giving us a speaking Shikar, and either you escape, convincing your jailer to allow you your freedom, or the others rescue you. It hasn't really been fully established, as Zack is the sort of Director and producer who generally turns his nova loose and films. I know Ayato and I were messing around sparring and he filmed it and part of the fight made it's way into the last movie." Generally he wants a good deal of action, plot and character development and maybe some romance. We don't improv everything, but alot of what will be settled on will come after the cast gathers to speak about itshoots a couple and he'll pick what he likes best."

"Capture and interogation, sounds almost kinky." She winks at him a moment. "Though that could be fun, you might mention that I don't feel pain, though I can act like it, and I did feel some pain when I was younger, these days it's nothing more then a itch or tickling sensation. I also adapt instantly to anything that is used on me, so you can certain use electicity and any sort of interogation insturment, to make it more realistic."

"I'm not much of a pilot or gunner though, I've never really studied those things, though I am very good with regards to several martial arts. I'm most capable in martial arts, sports, acting and music, actually. I could study those things, however, for the movie, if you like."

Connor nods. "I'm sure they'll give you some rudimentary stuff, but you all won't actually be piloting the giant robot in true sense as I'll be the robot."

"Now if everyone proves capable they might do a scene where the Shikar dismount the machines to make an appearance that would allow everoyne to fight them hand to hand. As to how they look, I haven't been told anything beyond bipedal humanoids."

"You will have to act like it hurts, though that shouldn't be hard as long as you remember what pain used to feel like. I don't feel much anymore either, but back when I first started, they threw a ten ton tank prop at me. It crushed seven of my ribs and broke my right shoulder when it hit me. I assure you I remember how pain feels."

I know Zack mentioned shooting some of the movie here in Seattle, and pending word from you, he'll formally make the applications to the city council. Having it shoot here in some part will really help the economy I think."

"Sound good, now, to a much more serious matter." Her eyes twinked a moment, as she turned her gaze fully upon him. "Are you planning to ask me out in the future, Conner? As in, your girlfriend, or is this just a fun date for both of us? I would actually prefer the former, but I'm not objecting to the later."

For a nova actor, an especaially good one, it was generally hard to suprise them. Yet right then his eyes widened at the overt forwardness of it all and he could only nod. "Yes, I am."

"i'd like that alot actually, the former that is." He was stifling his laughter at the absurdity of it all but couldn't hide his smile.

It was obvious She liked everything up front and didn't like to wait, so he just went with what came naturally. "Will you go out with me Aurora?" It was refreshing to just be able to ask bluntly and not have to put it in flowery language.

She smiled at the sudden suprise in his eyes, pleased that she'd gotten that reaction, then smiled even wider when he made his request. "Yes." As she made her reply, short sweet and to the point, she stood up, setting her napkin down on her seat, and then moved around the table to his seat.

"I think, though, as your girlfriend, I'd prefer to sit here." She said, sliding into his lap, putting her arms around his neck, and sealed her agreement with a kiss. She wondered if she had suprised him again, and how he would react to this. One thing she was sure of, whatever it was, she'd find it interesting.

She suprised him and yet this was a most pleasant suprise. He wraped his arms around her and returned her kiss passionately and after a little while he pulled back. "I can definitely get used to this."

"It's nice to have a young woman who knows exactly what she wants and goes after it."

He smiles mischeivously. "Though for now since we're out in public in your city, you might go back to your seat for now. I assure you, there'll be some time later tonight to get close if you want where we can get to know each other better without the prying eyes of the press."

That has been a sweet kiss, and she'd enjoyed every part of his response, but his words had her sitting back a moment, looking at him, she knew that on some level he was right. She just wasn't entirely certain that it mattered all that much to her.

Still, she got back up, sense he'd made the request, and she figured she should at least give his opinions a lot more weight then she would anyone else, except her family.

"Fair enough." She moved back to her seat, just as the waiter entered the room with the main course.

The waiter served them bth, her first. His dish was adozen large prawns cooked to perfection, hers was pan-seared breaded chicken breast finished with marinara and provolone cheese. The tea was perfect, and he drank in the aromas of the meal, and of the lovely young woman across from him.

He read her features as they ate. "Don't be disappointed Aurora, it wasn't a rebuke that I don't want you, just that with you being this city's public defender I don't want the people here to think any less of you because of something I don't believe is there business."

He smiles and laughs as he takes a sip of his tea. She was really something. Not the most beautiful nova he'd seen, but she was still young like him, and she was a good person in his eyes, and didn't want him for what he could do, she just really seemed to like him.

She wondered what he was thinking for a moment, as he drank the tea, and considered that if her capabitities had been different, she might be able to know. Thinking that over, she decided that was fine, part of the fun was the discovery.

"Daddy would agree with you, some things are private, or suppose to be anyway." She tasted the dinner, then looked down, and took another bit, savoring it. "This is good, I've never tried it before."

"I prefer either Sushi or the food of my hometown. Italian's good for romance, but if you want real good food, there's nothing quite like spicy Cajun cooking."

"That said, this is very very good. Next time I'll take you somewhere even better though."

"I will say this though the desserts they offer here look very good too."

He nods. Not to change the subject, but this is a question I always find the answer to interesting. What's your take on being a nova?"

She paused a moment, listening to his response, before putting down her fork, carefully on the plate, and then giving him her total attention.

"I've never been anything but a Nova, Conner, I was born to it, so I don't know how to compare it the way someone who erupted can. Of course, when I was young, I didn't have the power I have today.. " she paused, speaking quieter, though he would still be able to hear, anyone listening from further away wouldn't. "or the power Daddy says I should gain over the next year or so."

Her voice shifted back to normal again, as she continued. "It sometimes seems, that I'm surrounded by people made of paper, so easily hurt and damaged. I've never been sick in my life, I never really needed to eat or sleep, though I've done both.. my body adapts to every enviroment. It's hard to think sometimes, how unusual that is, to me, it's what I've grown up with, like a arm or a leg, but to others, it's amazing, or super human."

Connor smiled. "So then you're a second Generation nova that's pretty cool Aurora. I can only imagine what growing up must have been like for you."

He chuckles and and takes her hand in his. "Please don't take this the wrong way, as I know some novas would, but for a second generation nova, you certainly act normal enough."

"What I mean is, The stories I've heard about various other second gen novas and alot of the first ones is that they go around as if being nova automatically makes them always right and a better person than those who aren't novas. I saw it in Ayato a bit while we were shooting, but I'd wager that's also part of the fact of who his parents are."

"I'm very glad that isn't the sort of person you've shown yourself to be."

He smiles, having finished his meal and looks to her. "Are you up for dessert?"

She considered his reply a moment, before speaking again. "Actually, Conner, generally we are. I mean, smarter, faster, quicker, tougher, more beauty, and so on, nova's are all of those things with regards to baselines. But, when it comes down to it, I was raised to believe character means more then power."

She paused. "All the power in the world doesn't do any good, if one doesn't have the character to back it up, in fact, in that case, it does more harm then good." She reached out to touch his hand. "I find you good looking, charming and fun." She winked at him. "But it's your character that I find the most attractive, and the reason I said yes earlier."

She finished her words and then turned her attention back to the dinner. "So, what are you going to have me try for desert?"

Her compliment wasn't lost on him, he was genuinely impressed by her, there was nothing false in her words, nor her body language. She meant everything she said and that made his decision the easiest he'd made tonight.

What he did next struck him as old fashioned and corny, but very appropriate as he raised her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles softly.

"Tiramisu has long been one of my favorite deserts since an old friend introduced me to it. This place supposedly serves some of the best. I believe we'll try it out, then afterwards, well I've had my turn controlling our fates tonight, I believe I'll allow you to choose our next destination and activity."

She smiled as he lifted her hand and kissed it, finding it very romantic of him, which delighted her. When he chose the desert, she looked curious a moment. "What is Tiramisu?" She'd never tried it after all, but was willing to give just about anything a try tonight.

When he asked her to chose the next activity, however, she was momentarily uncertain. She wanted to go dancing, but she also wondered a bit about moving to a more private setting. "Dancing? Maybe the Amp Room? I've never been there."

Connor shakes his head. "There's really only one problem with that. It's already at least four, closer to five in the morning over there. The party is already winding down. If you want to go there, perhaps next time we can arrange to leave so that we get there abit earlier."

His face shows a sadness, born of not being able to make her happy, even though it's something he really couldn't change.

"Is there somewhere else you know you'd like to go?"

"Oh.. I didn't think of that." She didn't seem all that unhappy about it though, mostly because it had been a momentary impulse. "Well, I'd still like to go dancing somewhere, I think it would be fun, but anywhere is good." She smiled at him, reaching out to touch his hand with one of hers. "As long as your there, I'm sure it will be fun. And I want to try this desert your ordering me, or I'd be willing to go to your place, and you can show me around in a more private setting."

Connor nods. "I know of a nice little club , it isn't very modern music, but it is Very good, and people do dance to it, though it it's abit more sedate than others."

"As for Tiramisu, it's a very sweet cake dipped in a special icing that consists of lots of sugar and espresso. I believe you'll like it."

His wolfish grin curled a little higher. "As for going to my place, you have but simply to say the word and we can be there, though I warn you now, Maki and Asuna are going to jump on you. I never really broke them of that habit."

"Maki and Asuna? I take it those are pets?" As she spoke, the waiter brought in the deserts and she picked up her fork to try a bite. A moment later she closed her eyes and savored the sweetness of it, and then opened her eyes to look at him, with delight in them. "Oh, yes, I like it." She ate every bite, then set her fork down, and looked at him. "Let's try this club you were talking about first, then you can introduce me to Maki and Asuna"

"Maki and Asuna are my pet Chow dogs. Though they're alot bigger than that breed usually is. They're harmless, they just look like they're mean."

He devoured the Tiramisu and smiled setting down his fork. "Very good." The waiter came back to check on them and COnnor politely got the check and paid for the entire meal, leaving a generous tip on the table.

He looked to Aurora and smiled. "So are you ready to go to one of the best Jazz Clubs in New Orleans?"

She got up, and let Conner take care of the check and everything else, as she walked around the table, ready to leave and go wherever he wanted to. Because she felt like it, she slide her arms around his waist, and kissed him on the cheek, before turning her attention to what he said.

"I'll look forward to meeting them then.. and yes, lets go to this Jazz club your thinking of.. should only be about 2 hour difference, I think." She felt relaxed, but did pause a moment to check her pager, making certain that no one was signalling for her help in the Seattle, and relaxed slightly when it appeared that she was in the clear.

Connor stood smiling when her arms wrapped around him. Withdreww a small camera from his pocket and found a picture of the club from the last time he'd gone there. It was a veiw from the building acroos the street of a Place Called "Big Easy." He showed it to Aurora. Unfortunately you're going to have to teleport yourself there."

He frowned. "Which is considerably harder to manage when you've never been to a place. Perhaps We need to rethink this again. Unless you're willing to take a little risk." He gave her his mischeivous grin.

"It shouldn't be too hard, I've been able to teleport sense I was five." She paused a moment. "Someday I'll have to tell you that story." She looked at the picture he provided, moved to the center of the room, and winked at him. "See you there."

Drawing on her inner reserves of quantum, she reached out to the energies around her, the dark matter that was the stuff of the universe, and she became it, transforming from flesh and blood, into something else. For a moment, her consciousness seemed diffuse, and almost everywhere, and then with a snap, she was standing in front of Big Easy, and drawing a few stares as she appeared out of nowhere.

An instant later Connor appeared beside her, drawing even further stares. The man at the door looked impassive until he recognized his old Classmate. "Con! so you decided to come to Dad's club eh? Good night too, Bobby and his band are in there doin well, got some good dancin that's bound to go down tonight." The six foot four black bouncer looked at Aurora and then to Connor. "I see you found quite a lovely young lady to bring here."

He looks to Aurora and smiles. "Welcome to Big Easy, my Name is Will. if you need anythin' at all, you tell me, I'll make it happen. Though as beautiful as you are, I'm sure Dad will make ya the same offer."

Connor watched with a bemused smile on his face. "Easy Will, she just wanted a little dancing to some excellent music. I thought you guys would be ideal."

He unhooked the rope and ushered the nova couple in, suprisingly with no argument from the crowd. "Have fun tonight Con, I'll catch upp with you later."

Connor looked to Aurora as they walked in to the smmothe tones of Coltrane. "Will and I went to high school together. His parents got divorced and his dad moved here to New Orleans and opened this club. We played ball together and had several math and science classes together."

The music was good and the decor was fairly quiet yet taseful, with hardwood everywhere. He led her to a table near the dance area and smiled. "The band on stage is called Bayou Traveler, they play covers of jazz, popular zydeco and their own music."

There were already several couples on the floor, and many others at the tables, sitting together and listening. He looked to her and offered her his hand. "Would you like to dance?"

She was enchanted, and her eyes took everything in, as Conner lead her into the club. She did pause a moment, at Will's offer and complement on her beauty, and winked at him. "I think Conner has that covered, but thank you for the offer, Will." She chose to enter at Conner's side, and she looked around the club for a moment, listening to the music.

When he asked if she wanted to dance, she gave him her best smile, and reached out to take his hand. "I'd love to dance, show me your best." She was curious as to how good of a dancer he was, she was certain he was excellent, but she wanted to see it. At the same time, she also wanted to impress him, and she drew on her own natural dexterity, talent and skill, to dance her own best as well.

Connor led her to the floor and positioned his hands on her left shoulder and right hip. Just as he did so the band launched into a fast number that really wasn't jazz, but was certainly a dance tune. From there it was a whilrwind of motion, dance steps so perfect, motions so fluid, it was impossible for a normal human to match them. To Connor it wasn't his best, but it was enough to impress most anyone. Any professional dance would have sold their souls to be as light on their feet, to have the grace and beauy of motion as the Shapeshifting nova possessed. Through it all he consciously insured Aurora never misstepped, making adjustments instantly.

Finally the song ended and they were left encirled in each other's arms. A new slow song began, allowing them to drink in the closeness and catch their breath. "So, how was that?"
