Grav's Team

om’s and Grav’s blasts hit the robots unexpected and even though Tom’s blast didn’t deliver a deadly blow it was strong enough to render it helpless against the following grenade explosion. Hicks grinned victoriously as he saw the machines being blown apart. “This is starting to make fun – any update on the strike team? I think we can last another 10 minutes if we play it smart.”

(ooc:OK – you guys rock. Both terminators are terminated.)

Tim's Team

Savannahs and Simons joint attack knocked the machine over hitting right under it's metallic jaw like an earthstrike upper cut. The machine flailed with it's arms and skid over the pavement until it rammed into the next building getting buried by rubble and debris. The twins looked for a moment to see if it was still moving but it remained still - looks like her attack hit home.

In the meantime Tim was taking enough energy to keep him lasting for a few minutes longer while Juno managed to steer her way free of most obstacles and most importantly of the salvos which have been fired on her. Now there was nothing standing between her and the MIC and she mentally braced herself for the impact. She would get hurt, that she should come out of it alive – at least that’s what she counted on. Juno has never done anything like this before – time to find out how tough she really was.

Tim saw Juno disappearing out of his field of vision and hoped that the young Latina knew what she was doing. Timing would be critical now – better get finished with leeching some power and then move on quickly. Who knew what the Machines/Aliens response would be if someone blew up the MIC…?

Having taken a sip of Simon's energy, and feeling a little stronger, Tim raced towards the MIC. He hoped that he headed in the right direction. Once the truck went, all hell would come down on them. With luck, they would be out of there by the time the aliens began looking. If not, Tim would have to tap into what little energy he had left to fend off an army. If I have to, I will suck those two dry to get us out of here.

Savannah realized that Tim had decided it was almost time for departure, so she caught her brother's hand and began following the other boy's lead, chasing after him at as fast of a run as Simon could maintain (she had always been a bit more athletic than her twin, but she sure the hell wasn't leaving him further back than the distance of their arm lengths combined. She knew Simon was ready to go.. and that meant she was too.

Juno drove the Truck with uncanny precision towards its destined fate. Just before she hit the building she was aiming for she made sure to unlock the truck-trailer hoping that it would ignite it’s contents once it’s hull got breached. It took her some courage to make the jump knowing that it would hurt no matter what she did. At 80 MPH everything hurt no matter how tough you were. The young Latina hit the road like a ragdoll and skit over the street until her body impacted with a concrete wall where she lost her consciousness.

Tim’s eyes widened as he saw how Juno jumped out of the truck. It was impossible in his minds eye to survive that. For a moment things were looking ok and Juno was actually rolling with the momentum she got from the truck but there was not enough space for her to slow down in time. With a sickening “thwacking” sound she hit the wall of a building where she collapsed limp like a crashtest dummy. Tim had to avert his eyes since parts of her arms and legs weren’t bent the way they were supposed to. He looked back to the twins unsure if they saw anything and swallowed hard – then a whitebluish beam hit the street right next to them and their world went from bright white to darkest black.

Hicks and his team had just made out the location of the second distraction team with Sly’s help and were moving from roof to roof making advantage of Grav’s control over gravity. Hicks was smiling as their short and precise attacks hit the robots before they could react. Time was running out though. “We have to make one more large assault and hope that this will cripple them long enough. After that we’ll fall back to the HQ. I’m out of Grenades and we can’t do much beyond that. If the strike team is not successful in the meantime the whole mission failed. Lets hope we’re doing ok.”

Tom was about to relay that bit of information to Sly when he saw a beam of bluishwhite light hit the building right next to them. Grav lost briefly control but managed to place them all on the next buildings roof.

“You call that a landing?”, Hicks joked but visibly relieved that they were still alive and breathing. He quickly went to the next corner of the building and took out his binoculars scanning for Tim and his team. “There they are – looks like they’re doing ok.”, he was already laying out a plan how to rendezvous with them when another beam hit the street blinding him as the flash was too bright and too quick for him to protect his eyes. A second beam followed up the first and hit the building they were taking cover on destroying the lower storeys and damaging it’s integrity. Grav sensed how the building slowly collapsed underneath them and quickly resumed control of its integrity. She had never done anything like this before and exerted herself more than she did before. The building made contact with the adjacent structure and slowly slid into it while the mutants desperately tried to get a grip on the roof to not fall down right away and get buried under the next building. Grav lifted the whole roof off preventing them to get buried under the other building. Unfortunately she didn’t have enough time to stop their own crash on top of the collapsing buildings. A huge cloud of dust and debris enveloped them as parts of the buildings buried them – then their world went dark.

Sly found himself suddenly cut off from telepathic communication with the others. He closed his eyes to concentrate on the city expanding his mind to pick up any hint he could get to find about his friends demise. The feedback he got was almost overwhelming - thousands of voices screamed in pain and in relief as his mind got assaulted by impressions he never experienced before. The kids around him looked confused and scared at the mutant as he lost control of his body. Sly fell limp to the floor his mind locked in selfdefence to avoid any damage he could get from the biofeedback - something had been released - some kind of mental blockade has just been unlocked and he caught a glimpse of it. His last impression was a dark pair of reddish eyes that burnt with hatred just before he lost his consciousness.

(OOC: End of Chapter. EP are on the Tracker. Chapter 4 will be posted ASAP)
