Despite his better judgement, Kevin lowered his forcefield. He didn't let it go away, he just shrunk and raised it above everybody's heads. That way it wouldn't get in anybody's way, but he would still have it ready at a moment's notice if something unexpected popped up. He didn't know how much longer he could hold it though, before the effects of the virus came back with a vengance... and if they did, it would kill him.

He moved to beside the warp portal, herding people through along with Ronnie and ready to drag anybody through who didn't seem to be able to make it on their own, including Sly.

"Jes- Fuck, get on it, man," Ronnie growled. "We have got to go." She took a grip on his arm, and when she determined his time was up, she dragged him backwards toward the warp, making sure that Travis was with her.

They were running out of time, and Ronnie wasn't going to be left behind, or leave people behind.

The ships alarms were blaring and the lack of energy to sufficiently power the systems was starting to show. The lights flickered irregularly and the voice speaking it's warning in German skipped parts of its announcement.

With an mighty effort Adrian managed to shoulder the behemoth of a woman turned into a cyborg and carried her towards the portal. Making sure his sister and the blonde twins were in safety first though. Ronnie and Travis coordinated the retreat as good as possible while Kevin slowly moved backwards keeping his forcefield up to the last.

Joshua and Juno proved very valuable with lending the rescue team 8 more hands for a quick escape. Tim still being half paralysed by the approaching machines of death was half carried and half dragged to the portal by one of Joshua's servants.

Kevin was the last one to step through the portal, taking Grav with him. One last look back showed that the ship was blowing up. Fire and explosions came down the elevator shaft and reached into the corridor. Just before the flames could engulf him he vanished through the portal which instantly collapsed once he was through.

The first difference they felt was the muffled silence of the night and the breeze of fresh air. It was night and only scarce lighting illuminated to roof of the building. With relieve on their faces to be still alive Travis even managed to laugh out venting some of his anger, frustration and fear. That was a really close escape.
